Hello!i have two quastions... First i wont to know if with this system can fly my model at max 1.8km. Second what is the resoloution of this camera. Is like 720p on youtube or too lower and how much? I am new on fpv and i wont to know some informetion.
Yura Anatolievich  2 points - 5/13/2013

Well, i receive this FPV and what i found:
Weight of SonyCamera = 14.6g but Field-of-view is about 30-40 degrees - too low for fly!.
Weight of 8-ch FPV Tx = 80g! It's really higher then describe on this page!
HobbyKing, what does it mean, a?

I was wondering, if my FPV plane was lost with the camera and transmitter, can I purchase a repacement treansmitter? I know cameras are available. Just in case this happens, I would like to know my options.

All 900MHz video Tx sold in hobbyking comes with Rx. You have to look to other stores if you want to buy the 900MHz video Tx only.

The TX channels 1-4 match your receiver's channels 4-7. RoBo_Guy 87 points Thnx I just wanted to be sure...... Have you used this product with the Rx I mentioned?

Read the comment for this transmitter. William 11 points - 4/28/2013 Any reciever for this on hobbyking? vrwolf 714 points I am pretty sure the receivers sold here with the 900mhz systems will work for this... the top 4 channels match from what I have read below. though they don't sell them seperately from the 900mhz vtx... I would just buy the cheapest set and have a 900mhz vtx for use somewhere else :)

hi all i received mine today i hooked my receiver to my power supply and i plugged transmitter to a 3s 2200mah battery first there was nothing then i tried other channels i finally found what i was looking for but the picture quailty is really low and it is sort of black and white what is my problem? please help me

Black and white picture, quailty is really low?
Too low lux, try fly at 12 o'clock, on the day

is it possible to use the camera seperately ?
 Roger 2245 points
Yes, but not with a fatshark Tx. It is rated at 9-12.6V working voltage. Fatshark provides only 5V.
 Outbreak 18 points
So a small 3s lipo would work fine right ?
 Roger 2245 points
Yes, even the 3S 180mah sold here.

I'm am thinking about getting the fpv raptor from this site will this fpv system be too heavy for it and will it fit easily
 Brett 6 points
The FPV Raptor likes to be heavy, it makes them handle better. I have two of them, a 1.6m and a 2.0m.
 bturby 47 points
So are you saying that this would be a good system for it?
 Brett 6 points
I couldn't honestly tell you, I was merely responding to your FPV Raptor payload question. I am still debating as to which video system/frequency I will go with. I have seen reports that this system does have a heat issue but also has a far better range than the 5.8Ghz sytems. I think I might just bite the bullet and get it just to see what it is like.

brett regarding the raptor 2m one .. what motor and prop yu have on .. cause ive got the skyrider 2m and its not flying well
 Brett 6 points
Hello Mar11, I have the Skyrider FPV Raptor 2m from RC Smart in Malaysia and the FPV Raptor 1.6m from Hobby King. They both run the same prop and motor and flew well from the box. The only issue I had was initially not having enough weight onboard. They need to be "Heavy" to make them more controllable at low speed. The motor is a 1400kv and I think the prop is an 8x5 or 8x6. They have tons of power and will do a flap takeoff in about 10-15m. Make sure that the motor and prop are rotating in the correct direction, I initially made that mistake, although I was producing thrust it was not enough.
 Mar11 1969 points
hi brett thanks for your reply.. ibe got the skyrider 2m the motor and prop are turning in the rigth direction and the prop is in the convex position to the front, whcih is ok but i feel the prop is too ligth and bendy .. dunno but i feel not enought power and cant change the prop due to motor shaft...

Please, I would like to know which are the difference between 5.8Ghz, 2.9Ghz and 900Mhz? Thanks.
 Stelios 87 points
Try this flitetest****/articles/FPV_frequencies_for_dummies
 Stelios 87 points
after the flitetest write <<(dot)com>>I couldn't post a correct link
 alegh 3 points
Basically the differences are obstacle penetration like trees, etc. The lower frequency penetrates better any obstacle. Other issue is that at higher freq. smaller antennas and viceversa.

Ciao!

So what frequencies is channel 1,2,3,and 4? I live in the city and 900mhz is making interference. I want to ***p it up to 910 or 980mhz. I could test each channel and see which one works the best but I want to know what the frequencies are so I can buy the right antenna.

I bought this. How to I program / match tx channel to rx channel. No instructions. switches on each and readout on rx.

The receiver had a small lcd and the transmitter has some switches easy.

Does anyone know where I could find a replacement antenna? I'm not sure if I can just buy one for a 900 MHz cell phone and use that or if I need a particular one. HK don't seem to sell replacements.

Is the camera really 520 TV lines? does anyone know a camera which isn't to much affected by the sun, becaus when I fly with my cam in the sun, al the trees and horizon become black, and it takes a while for the cam to adjust the lightening.

Is the camera circuit board supposed to get hot? mine is warm after about a minute of operation. using a 3s lipo charged to about 12v as PSU
 Philippe 1 points
No problems ! In flight your camera circuit board will be automatically cold because of the speed of your plane. Furthermore, even if you use it on the ground, you must know that it's normal if it warms...

I got this set. It seemed to me that everything is working correctly. BUT there is no picture on the TV. In what may be the problem? My TV supports system: PAL, SECAM, NTSC, DVB-T. Please, help me!
 Ericogr 41 points
Did you see a black screen? Maybe a stupid questions, but did you take off the lens protection from camera? Some tvs has a special function/button to access av channel and you need to change the channel from transmitter and receiver to the same. You need to put antenna to transmitter and receiver too. I hope it helps.

which one is better this one or 5.8GHz Tx/Rx system?
 dean420 68 points
this system is just awesome did first flight recently blew my expectations out of the water very good range and the image quality is so crisp, also its so easy to setup buy a turnigy 500mah 3cell and it all just plugs in and works no setup just mount on plane and go!!!

I have 5,8GHz fpv system I am glad to buy it no problem I think higher frequency good choice for video transfer.

 Katrien 5 points
with the 900mhz you got less interference by houses and such becouse it has a lower freq
 bouncing falafel 9 points
If ye have a 2.4ghz controller. low frequency video will be your best bet
 DriesRC 285 points
like these guy's said, 900mhz is the best for flying behind objects, because its a low freq. but in europe 900mhz is the band used by mobile phones, luckely you can use the 1010mhz channel. so 5.8 is good for open fields. 900 mhz is good for EVERYTHING.

Bought one of hese but tx only seems to have 3 channels pressing the button. How do I access the other 4?
 Ericogr 41 points
It's 0 to 3 (4 channels).
 Marcus 1 points
Not helpfull at all......
 Ericogr 41 points
TX have only 4 channels (not 8). You cannot access the other 4 because the other 4 does not exist www.link
 Marcus 1 points
Please look above at the the product details, specifically - 1 x 900Mhz 8 channel Video Transmitter (800mW)
 HEATEDHAT 33 points
it has 8 channels. all of wich work. however depending on where they shipped it to the illegal channels where blocked . some country's dont allow certain channels to be used by the gen public. you can thank the fcc if your in the usa
 Marcus 1 points
This is simply not true, all frequencies in this band are illegal for use in my country so with that theory it would have no channels. I think the product is faulty but HK don't ever answer requests for help or any contact at all, I'll just have to log a dispute with Paypal.
 SEYLLER 8 points
only 3 channel of the TX and 8 written of the TX is bad but all 0.9 freq interfere with my boat i want use this over 1.04 G ! how i unlock the 4 other channel ?

might be a silly question but i cant tell from the pics. is this a plug and play job? or does it require some soldering and stuffing about??
 ANDY in c.a.p 335 points
no soldering just plug it in and go all you nead is 1 3s lipo
 allat58 33 points
You will need to make a little harness up with the plugs supplied. Not too hard just mount all the gear how you want it in the plane and make your cables all the right length. Not too short though as you want to be able to plug things in still. So you will need a bit of extra length for access reasons. Also grab a few of the male version of the balace plug for the lipo. These are great to power up stuff that doesnt' draw too many amps (under 5amps that is). You will be surprised how quickly the

The camera specs say no audio. But the RX has an audio plug so if i get a camera that has audio will the TX be able to handel it?
 Alexander 627 points
The TX has 4 wires. 2 for power, one for video and the 4th sould be audio. You can use a camera with audio or you use an external microphone.
 Alfitas 17 points
Yes, you have to connect an external microphone with some pre-amplifier. There is information to do that on the internet.

I use and old 11.1v 3s 2200mah ,works good and doesn't Overheat the transmitter

i recommend use 3s 1000mah - enough for few hours and not big weigh, if need minimum weight 500-600mah 3s is enough for like hour of work

hello rc frenz...i already hav this tx rx and i just want to know if i can remove the heavy gold case from tx?http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/images/e
m_rolleyes.gif
 cwfsc 66 points
I've removed the goldern color casing. Just 4 screw from each end (my unit had a wrong screw being used). Inside, there is another smaller casing housing of size 5cm long x2.5cm wide x0.8cm thick. Four metal pcs are used to 'jam' the smaller box in position. The signal wire, anntena plug and channel selection button are all contained well inside the smaller metal box. Nevertheless, I've yet to try out the system and hence I don't know what will be the impact of removing the outer casing.
 Joe 23 points
I've removed the case (outer) and it works great and saves weight!
 dean420 68 points
it may overheat as the case helps to dissipate excess heat

Great Product. The Video Tx/Rx will work with an NTSC camera and monitor. Good reception and great range. Even with Stock antenna's. Will be switching cameras and receiver antenna to increase range and clarity.

To get mine going I had to switch the red and white wires around on the plug into the camera. Works great now. The system seems to go well so far. The RX required a 12volt 500mA positive center power supply and works well so far. I used a Turnigy Li-Po 3S 500mA battery to run the camera and transmitter. I could tell the camera wasn't going properly but the transmitter wasn't because there was a black picture instead of static when I first hooked it up. I hope this review saves people the time I wasted to get it going. As always, hobbyking is the best.

Unit arrived well packaged. No instructions. Removed the gold box from the transmitter and added a heat sink from an old esc to the back of the tin box of the receiver, stuck on with heatsink glue. Had to reverse the plug wires on the camera by carefully prising off the plastic plug outer from the circuit board pins with a blade, reversed it and carefully replaced it back on the pins. This puts the red wire to the right when looking at the back of the camera board with the plug at the bottom. Had to use a 3s lipo battery to get this to work as the current needed is more than a normal 9v battery has. Picture is solid and clear. Will try on a plane soon.
