Luckydogg, If you can find the info you are looking for on programming the 3 way switch, please let me know as I am in the same boat. I have to get into hover mode - 2 blue light flashes to reset the gyro.

Manual? Having trouble mixing the three position switch for use with an autopilot. I have seen it completed but know need to map the three position switch for an standard plane - acro.

BTW this radio, responf very nice, I still have to learn but for a Tricop (beguinner RC) this Radio is definnelly a great choice, specially the Price.
JORGE  6 points - 5/7/2013

This message for all people that support me on my Tricop project,is finnally flying. Special thankz to Crono1124, your advice, was at the very beginning little disappointing, cz I already done al what you adviced me, But at the very end you throough out the last line, that said: Er... CW *PROP on any motor that spins CW :). need more coffee...hope you remember....that one, naild it...I didnt have no idea that Prop as well come in CW or CCW, and they should match the mottor rotation...Best advice ever. I still have to do some tweecks on the adjustment, but I am ready to go...Thankz so Much again Crono1124, U ROCK!

Which radio you guys recommend? 9X or 9XR, since they have almost the same price. I have a FrSky DJT V8FR-II module. I saw some guys saying about some problems in 9XR gimbals... 9XR is really better??
 Crono1124 122 points
If you get the 9x you will have to do several mods to make it like the 9xr already is. The 9xr comes with Er9x firmware already loaded which is infinitely better IMO than the stock 9x firmware. It comes with a back light which is an easy mod and the gimbals are supposed to be better. I have both the 9x and the 9xr and the gimbals on the 9xr feel slightly smoother but not enough for me to say definitively that they are better. Also the Stock 9x requires you to modify the module bay in order to fit in the DJT module. The 9x does not have this issue. again easy mods once you know what your doing but due to the prices being so close i'd just go with the 9xr.

Hi i am new to quadcopters can someone tell me what the channels are(I AM USING THE KK2.0 BOARD)( CH1 AIL )(CH2 ELE)( CH3 THR)( CH4 RUD)( CH5 AUX) IS THIS CORRECT \THANK YOU Mine came with no instruction manual
 Crono1124 122 points
On the KK2.0 Board from top to bottom the channels are as you described. Ail,ELE,THR,Rud,Aux1. This matches the default setup on the Turnigy9x Ch1=AIL, Ch2=ELE, Ch3=THR, Ch4=Rud, Ch5=Gear Sw(Top right front switch). Of course this assumes no new firmware has been added to your Tx that allows you to select any switch for any feature....

lol,man this stuff hard

important to remember as well, from connecting cables, yellow cable go facing inside direction of the board brown outside.

Hi, is it there a really good reference video, on how to do a full setup of this radio for a Trcopter-KK2.0Board. My pretty machine is really assembled, but still not lifting, it tends to flip over the right mott, I switch the letf and right mpttprs, but still...Please dont send me to RCgroups, Ill readey been there...and not really helpfulll. I need to propper set up this radio, step by step. Thanz.!!!
 Crono1124 122 points
Jorge, there are a few things that could be causing your issue with the KK2.0 Board. It is however easy to troubleshoot. First go to the menu on your KK2 and verify your rx channels. When you move you Tx Thr make sure your Thr chan is being adjusted. This will help solve any Tx related issues. Secondly go to show motor layout in the menu section. Verify that you have selected Tricopter as your config. If it is not selected go back to the select motor layout screen and select tricopter. Once you have the proper layout in the show motor layout screen step through each one of the screens and verify that you have the proper motor rotation for each motor. Each step will show you a specific motor and which way it is supposed to rotate. If you find a motor is rotating the wrong direction simply reverse any two wires coming from your ESC to the motor and it will spin in the other direction. Once it is spinning in the right direction make sure you have a CW motor on any motor that spins CW and visa versa. Lastly with the KK2 on a completely level surface calibrate the accelerometers. It is important to only plug in the KK2 while it is on a level surface. If you have your model flipped to plug in the battery and then flip it again to the proper flying orientation you'll be surprised just how easy it flips after THR application. Best of luck to you and let us know how it works out!

Where can I find the user's instruction manual. Or download instruction on the PC
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Supersenior above is a Purple File Tab, in there is a manual. Not English, if you want an English manual go to the international warehouse listing and you will find it there.

What is a module ?
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Jaylee it is the item you need to complete this transmitter. It sets the RF signal. This item can take a few different Modules depending on the receiver you are using. For a short list of modules, look above in the COMBINE list. This is a good start. I have put a pic just below my Dog Pic.

Corona 2.4Ghz JR Module & Rx (V2 DSSS. OrangeRX DSMX/DSM2 2.4Ghz Transmitter Module (JR. Compatible with Turnigy 9X Turnigy Or 9xR? What is the difference V2 DSSS and DSMX/DSM2 serves both Turnigy 9X and 9XR?
 TaterTotDW 197 points
They are two different modulations. DSM2/DSMX receivers won't work with the Corona module. Corona 2.4 ghz receivers won't work with the DSM2/DSMX module. Just pick the modulation you want. They both work.

I want to ask if I'm wrong pair reversed tx battery causing dropped calls to components tx and can not live what I can do. Please help is there any suggestions? thank you
 mindo 6 points
There are two 5V voltage regulatos (7805) inside the transmiter (one in the transmiter and the other inside the module). If you invert the batteries this voltage regulator will burn. So you need to replace them. It's easy if you have some skills with soldering iron. Take a look in some videos on youtube.

DIY won't work with this one as it needs an antenna which this does not come with. This is pretty much designed for the DJT. Battery I'm using is this one: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__179
55__HobbyKing_1500mAH_LiFe_3S_9_9v_Transmitter_pack_
.html The
black connector does plug into the power port but it's tight... I bought an adapter cable from parkeflyer.com that adapts the white power plug to the correct pinout for the radio but you don't have to.

What's the difference between the frsky DIY module and the frsky module that plugs straight into the back of this receiver? Also what lipo would fit in the battery compartment so I wouldn't have to use 8 aa batteries.
 Gerry01 2904 points
Look for "Turnigy 2650mAh 3S 1C LLF Tx Pack", fits ok. Also, any old 3S lipo battery that you may have and fits the compartment (100x32x30 mm aprox) can be used. I´*m using an old 780 mAh 3S lipo battery. It doesn't last long, just a few weeks, but works ok.
 roberted5 104 points
If you go to rcmodel reviews it has a video installing the FrSky DIY module step by step.

Does it show correct voltage with 3S Lipo?
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Alexander good question. I find and other have commented, that this Transmitter shows a lesser voltage, than the battery, actually is. The Battery may be, really 11v, but the transmitter will show from 0.7 to 1.0 volt lower. I have found, my battery, is a constant 0.8 volts, higher than shown on screen.

When you guys gonna get this and the 9xr to the UK warehouse ??

May i power this up without module to navigate in the menu en to update to ER9X? or will it damage Tx? Any certain answer will be appreciated.
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Dengesiz yes you can power up with out your module. It will do no damage to the transmitter. Just do not plug the module in, while the transmitter is on.
DarrenH  471 points - 3/19/2013

Great platform to use with Frsky DJT module and telemetry receiver. Gives roughly 2.5 to 3Kms range. Be sure to update firmware to latest ER9X to get the most out of this radio.
Baruch  2 points - 3/19/2013

I have a KK2 controller and the instruction say to connect the aux pins to a "switched channel". I've tried to figure out what a switched channel is and the instructions say nothing about that. Does anyone know what to do for this?
 Gerry01 2904 points
It's a channel that you can set to full servo on one direction, and full servo on the opposite direction, with the flip of a switch in the Tx. It's like a gear switch in planes.
Wayne  1 points - 3/17/2013

Just got my Turnigy 9X mode 2 and when I turn on the power all it does is beep and say switch error! Can anybody Plese Help Me? I'm new to rc copters and bought this to bind with my WLToys V911's.

How do I use this with the fms simulator I have this model without the module.
 Gerry01 2904 points
you need the adapter "USB Simulator Cable XTR/AeroFly/FMS". This plugs into the small audio plug in the back of the Tx. The computer sees it as a multiaxis joystick. I've used it with FMS and Aerofly. No problems.

I have this radio with the FrSky DJT telemetry system. Added backlight made a big improvement on the screen. I've modded it with ER9X FrSky firmware, also need a little modification inside the DJT module to get the telemetry data on the 9x screen. Well worth the effort. It's a killer combo matching or exceeding far more expensive systems. The radio coverage on the FrSky system is amazing and the programming possibilities of the ER9X firmware is just splendid! In all: a great product bog stock with DJT, and with some mods it's just excellent in both performance and options. Only downside is that it's not the best build quality.

I have 2 and extremely happy. One is fully modded with frsky telemetry and er9x software and as others mention well worth it. Please google ersky9x and you will see a killer replacement board, no soldering with full frsky telemetry and more. Perhaps expensive for some but still worth it compared to other brand name telemetry radios for people not into soldering.
