ok i got 10 of these in orange, i havn't use them all yet, but when testing them they seem to have weird gear movements once connected to frsky TX operated using 9x, one of them got really hot then got burned out, the others get hot too, surely not all of them faulty!! what could be the problem here?
I have these in my HK DG-1000 & they work really well, plenty of torque & movement. I've used them in wings (aileron & flap) & elevator. The fit is almost spot on with the trailing edge of the aileron servos protruding about 1mm above the wing surface. You'd need a 9.5mm or less thick servo to fit perfectly.
Well 1.75KG torque is plenty for most EDF's Jeez HET F4 Phantom which will do well over 100mph only states 1.5KG torque min for it's aileron servos... movement is small on fast jets.. fear not!!
A scratch built A-4 Skyhawk ~74" long HOPEFULLY less than 11lbs. Not going to be doing fast spins in it etc. Split S, slow rolls, 8 point, inverted, Dives...medium range maneuvers.
Yes... It is metal gear.. it's possible to see this in the picture.
I only think this servo is weak, only 1.75 kg.
Other servos for wings have 4.2 kg of strength.
Shure you had a good batch of VG servos. I thouught the same untill I received 4 totaly glitching units in the same order . Internal inspection showed that the the whiles from the pots to the pcb where all bad soldered and un isolated (as oposed to the good ones) . Sooooooooo the question is INEXISTENT QUALITY CONTROL !.Ah and these ones at least have fixings , VGs must be bonded . Yellow is no problem for me either.
I use these on my 2500 mm reaper now i have good about 8 lbs total craft weight and these servos have no problem holding the elevator i use them for flaps as well and they work great only thing is if u do buy it dont rely on only the screw use a good glue to hold the flat part to the wing as they screws will get loose over time hope this help
The screw size is 2 mm. I just got two of them and they have a lot of gear backlash. Approx 2 deg. measured! Also, the output bearing is sloppy in the housing, either that, or the bearing itself has lots of lateral play. I have yet to power them up. Not looking good so far!
They will be easy to fit with external bearings, which will reduce the bearing side lash. They seem to centre well and operate smoothly. Just have to contend with the gear backlash using short servo horn/long control surface horn.

Seem to operate alright, and are great for the price.
Reasonably smooth, quiet, and at least as strong as stated.
I'm using 2 of them to operate the Hobbyking speed brakes that I've just put in my old 2.8meter span wik kestrell and they fit inside the 13.5 mm thick wing section.
these are great size and very slim ..i used them for my flaps on 1400mm FW190 they sit in the wing flush and work great they have metal gears i opened them an added a squirt of teflon grease ..

Pro: Great servo, very precise and quiet. Good value for money.
Con: Gears need a dab of grease.
They fit nicely in the wing of a Mini Hawk/Mibo Wasp/HK Reverb.
Will buy more.
