More than just a fancy name. TURNIGY nano-tech lithium polymer batteries are built with an LiCo nano-technology substrate complex greatly improving power transfer making the oxidation/reduction reaction more efficient, this helps electrons pass more freely from anode to cathode with less internal impedance.
In short; less voltage sag and a higher discharge rate than a similar density lithium polymer (non nano-tech) battery.
For those that love graphs, it means a straighter, longer curve. For pilots it spells stronger throttle punches and unreal straight-up performance.

* The nano-core technology in lithium ion batteries is the application of nanometer conductive additives.
1) The nanometer conductive additives form ultrastrong electron-conducting networks in the electrodes which can increase electronic conductivity.
2) These additives create a superstrong ability for imbibition in the carrier liquid to supply more ion channels. This improves the ability of ion transmission and ion diffusion.
Through improving electronic conductivity and ion transmission, the impedance is reduced and the polarization of high rate discharge decreases greatly.
Advantages over traditional Lipo batteries;

for mild 3D flight would this battery be OK for a Blade 500X? The battery that comes with it is a 2900mAh 30C. The 25C discharge rate for "lite" flying should be OK>?

A 2900mAh 30C battery is capable of pulling about 87 amps. This battery is a 3300mAh 25C which is capable of 82.5 amps the difference in amp draw is only 4.5 amps. The 500x only comes with a 70 amp esc so you will be fine. You might notice a difference in power, but that has more to do with the quality of battery. 90% of all the batteries I use are Nano-tech and I love them.

I had to do a slight mod to my HK500 to get these to fit under the canopy, but it's worth the 10 minute flight times these batteries give me

Now here is a good deal for the T-Rex 550 or 600 size helicopter. I have several of these and all are in great shape. I initialy had a problem with one of the cells on one pack was low and would not take a charge above 4.08V so I put it on my Triton EQ2 charger and it took several hours but it fully charged and has been good ever since. This would not charge properly on the Accucell 6 LiPo charger.

OK I just got my second batch of these in and there is another one that has 2 low cells now. The first batch had one with 1 low cell and the Triton 2EQ brought it back to life. Now we have one pack with 2 cells with problems. I have them on the Triton trying to get the cells balanced, I will update if there is a problem with balancing all cells.
cell 1- 4.21V
cell 2- 4.20V
cell 3- 3.90V
cell 4- 3.92V
cell 5- 4.20V
cell 6- 4.19V
This is how it arrived to me, we will see if the Triton can balance it.

The quality control is VERY lacking if this happens this often. Lets see I have ordered 4 of these and 2 of them came in with problematic cells. Not too good a track record there QC dept. I think the 3 stars is fair since I have to work to get the batteries where thay should be when they arrive. I believe I will be looking for a different set next order.

I use these in my trex 500 efl pro. They fit under the stock canopy just fine. They give a good balance to the helicopter. With 100pcnt throttle curve with the mx500 motor I get 6 minutes of flight time which is great for 3d mode.
