9 thumbs up!
I measured resistance and no-load current to get data to plug into Motocalc. Resistance, measured between any 2 terminals, using the 4-terminal method, averages 0.46 ohms. No-load current is 0.465 amps at 9 volts. I did not measure motor constant. Using the stated motor constant of 1125 rpm/v, maximum efficiency calculates as 74pcnt at 3.35A, excellent for such an inexpensive motor. Mounting screws are a bit long and mount plate holes are a little off but motor build is excellent.

I have 1 of this motor placed in a small motoglider of 150 cm and 500 gr. It pulls a 9x5 Cam prop with 6A. Battery is a 3s 1500 mah polymax by unitedhobbies. With this battery I can fly for 30 minutes only with motor. If I find thermals I can stay up also for many many days! My motoglider can reach a good altidude in small time. This motor has the same performance of a 300 geared, but it weights only 30 grams, and speed 300 with gearbox about 70, and it's more efficent.

thank you unitedhobbies!!!!

3 thumbs up!
First motor, couldnt reverse shaft for propsaver. Shaft was stuck. Got a second motor, shaft came right out. tried throttling up, burned in less than 5 seconds. Took motor can off and put it on my first motor, worked ok, great performance. On the most recent flight, the motor stopped and burned up. Now I have two dead motors. It could be the connections to ESC or it could be the build quality. will give it one more try.

Fantastic piece of engine. I have used hacker, the hextronic engine runs cooler and was better build. The Hextronic got 3.17mm shaft whereas the hacker was 3mmm.Would recommend you to buy two, one for running and one for spare.

I installed this motor on a Hobby-Lobby Yak-55 foamie with a GWS EP-0947 prop. The ESC is an 18A Tower Pro and the lipos are 3s 800mah Loong-Max. All I can say is WOW!! This is my first 3D profile model so I have nothing to compare it to but it does unlimited vertical and 2/3 throttle hovers at an AUW of 10.9oz (310g). I tried an EP-0843. but it lacked power. Flight time is about 7 mins leaving around 40pcnt capacity in the lipo. I see others have heat issues but none here. It's barely warm. I did have trouble reversing the shaft but I used a vice to press it out. There may be better motors but at this price, I have no complaints at all.
