*High performance replacement for Traxxas TRA2823. Designed to fit 1/16 Traxxas models.
Add extreme power and performance to your Traxxas vehicle with this high discharge, high capacity TURNIGY nano-tech battery!
More than just a fancy name. TURNIGY nano-tech lithium polymer batteries are built with an LiCo nano-technology substrate complex greatly improving power transfer making the oxidation/reduction reaction more efficient, this helps electrons pass more freely from anode to cathode with less internal impedance. In short; less voltage sag and a higher discharge rate than a similar density lithium polymer (non nano-tech) battery. For those that love graphs, it means a straighter, longer curve. For pilots it spells stronger throttle punches and unreal straight-up performance. Excellent news for 3D pilots!
Unfortunately with other big brands; numbers, ratings and graphs can be fudged. Rest assured, TURNIGY nano-techs are the real deal, delivering unparalleled performance!
*The nano-core technology in lithium ion batteries is the application of nanometer conductive additives. 1) The nanometer conductive additives form ultrastrong electron-conducting networks in the electrodes which can increase electronic conductivity. 2) These additives create a superstrong ability for imbibition in the carrier liquid to supply more ion channels. This improves the ability of ion transmission and ion diffusion. Through improving electronic conductivity and ion transmission, the impedance is reduced and the polarization of high rate discharge decreases greatly. Advantages over traditional Lipo batteries; -Power density reaches 7.5 kw/kg. -Less Voltage sag during high rate discharge, giving more power under load. -Internal impedance can reach as low as 1.2mΩ compared to that of 3mΩ of a standard Lipoly. -Greater thermal control, pack usually doesnt exceed 60degC -Thickness swelling during heavy load doesnt exceed 5%, compared to 15% of a normal Lipoly during heavy load. -Higher capacity during heavy discharge. More than 90% at 100% C rate. -Fast charge capable, up to 15C on some batteries. -Longer Cycle Life, almost double that of standard lipoly technology.
hi i do not want to cut my door from my mini 8 i just
want to get a battery that fits................................................ ...........................................with what battery 3s lipo
will fit .................................................... .................................................... ..........................................thanks
You will have to cut the door, but is is worth it because the battery is awesome performance for an awesome price. I bought two of these for my mini 8ight. So far I have loved them and I would defiantly recommend these to anyone with a losi mini 8ight.
Yes, it does have dual battery trays like it's big bro.
The 11.1V 1400mAh nano-tech sku #9210000009 fit perfectly and can be used together with the #TRXplug-PR parallel connector to double your run time.
My mini Revo flies with these and I get about 20 minutes of run time. They even come with Traxxas plugs already installed.
can this battery fit in losi mini 8
thanks guy................................................. .................................................... .................................................... ..........
You can go 45mph with this battery , but you have to use the high speed pinion gear they include with the kit.
Acceleration is a lot better with this battery, it's nothing compared to that ****py NIHm battery.
you can use 2 of them 3s 1400mah nanotech 40-80c with parallel cable.but it will get hot your esc.if you want to use these batteries with 2x parallel you should use a litte cooling fan for your esc. recommended...
Hi Everyone, I ordered a 1/10 Trackstar 4000kv combo to put in my Rally. I know some of you have done similar mods and was wondering how the driveline components cope with the massive increase in power. Mainly the differentials and the slipper. Any tips are welcome! Thank you. (BTW I got a pair of these Lipo's and they rock)
1. Flip your transmission gears if you are running larger tires.
2. ESC Setting - Turn down timing if engine is too hot, or too fast.
3. ESC Setting - Turn throttle limit down if it is just too much power. Gives you a more useable throttle range.
3. ESC Setting - Initial Acceleration Setting "LOW"
4. Slipper Setting - Loosen it up a bit. You may burn through a spur gear until you learn how to set it properly.
5. Driver Setting - Roll onto top speed rather than just hitting the trigger. Drive smoother.
6. Differential Setting - 50K fluid in front, 50K in middle, 30k in the rear. This is really personal choice setting. Try 10k, 30k, 50k differential fluid in different combos. I believe there is a multipack from traxxas with those three.
7. Differential Suggestion - Add a center diff if you havent' already.
one way center diff is pretty much limited to Racing. When braking it will prevent brake power from the front wheels allowing them to spin freely. It will transfer all braking power to the rear, apparently damaging rear parts as a result. IMHO just get the traxxas 2 way center diff.
this battery is awesome, extremely power, a revo 1/16 can actually do a backflip with it from the floor. good run time. Fits perfect in the batteries compartment, no modifications, you will have room for the wires also
I recommend it!!!! Good quality and very cheap compare with the traxxas one, you can buy 3 for the price of a Traxxas
got mine in today this lipo works better then my traxxas 2823 3s lipo and you can buy 3 for the price!!! i would recommend this battery to any one with 1/16 traxxas cars.
What is the charge rate for this battery? To be safe i will charge it at 1C, but i was just wondering what the official charge rate for this battery was. I just ordered one a couple days ago so i haven't received it yet.
I agree on the 1C advice. I tried charging this battery at max with my charger, that's 6A charge current, for 10 minutes or so, didn't notice any rise in battery temperature at all.
nano techs are completely safe for 2c charging. 1c is old technology. I have done 10c charging many times but I feel its responsible for damage down the road.
I know it's safe to charge them with relatively high current, I will occasionally charge these batteries at 3-4 amps if I'm in a hurry. I just want them to last, so I usually charge them at a more moderate current, to be more gentle with them.
i would expect about 12 to 15 minutes because the lipo cutoff of the vxl-3m is set to about 3.6 to 3.7 volts, a new esc with a cutoff around 3.3 which is still very safe will yield aroind 18 minutes, i would recommend running the 2s 2200mah 25c-50c, the stock esc does not seem to be as reliable when running 3s
This is exactly the battery i have been looking for my 1/16 e-revo. There are other batteries, but none that seem more perfect for the job.
Anyone have any idea on when these are going to start being a stocking item at hobbyking ? I would expect the demand from 1/16 traxxas owners to push some serious sales figures for this lovely shop.http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/images /em_party.gif
if you have the money to spend on it now i would order them so as when they arrive they ship them out to you and you dont lose out i got these batteries and they make my mini revo into a beast i thought it was gonna go back to the future lol
Hi!
Look, this pack has capacity of 1.4 Ah and discharge rate 40-80C. That means that it can give 40x1.4 A = 56 A of current continoeusly and 80x1.4 A = 112 A of current in short bursts. Now look at the motor in the power system - Max current: 40A. That means you are well within the safe range of currents this pack can handle :) The motor can be driven by 2s or 3s packs, this is a 3s pack, so everything fits perfectly :D
Go for it!
Correction. You can burn the ESC or the motor if the esc cannot handle enough amps. The battery can give more amps to the motor if it ask more. This is the difference between low C and high C. At middle throttle there is no difference, but when motor ask more amps, the higher C battery can give more amps.
Another correction. When motor draw more amps, the voltage drops. In a higher C battery, the voltage drops is less than a lower C battery. So, with a higer C battery you have more watts.
it can only burn your esc if you have a motor that pulls too much amps for the esc. the battery won`t burn your esc if you have esc suitable for your motor
No. It only happen if you put a battery with higher voltage, because the current in circuit is determined by motor and the work of the motor have to do, example a bigger propeller will pull more Amp and could fry your motor because this battery will give more Amps!
if your esc and motor can handle the voltage, which they should, i think. go for it. great battery with loads of power. the battery wont burn your esc, the motor will. battery provides current. it will not force current through the system. better to have a battery that is more than you need. this is a great battery. go for it
Think the capacity like a bottle of water. If you bend the bottle little, water flows a little, if you bend the bottle much, water flows much. If you connect suitable esc and suitable motor, they don't burn.
These are great batteries for my 1/16 traxxas. They definitely pack more punch than other 3s batteries with lower discharge rates I have for this car.
They came well packaged. Bubble wrap and individual box for each battery. Arrived well balanced, at storage charge. All charged up to capacity no problem.
They fit well in the battery compartments with room to spare in 1/16 traxxas vehicles. Although the leads are top rather than side mounted, this does not pose a problem given the amount of room in the battery compartment. No modifications required to chassis & no soldering of traxxas connectors (I'm getting lazy, and this was a nice bonus).
Best 3s lipo I have tried for the 1/16 traxxas cars.
I have put 20 cycles on these batteries so far and they have PLENTY of punch. They fit in the 1/16th E-Revo VXL with no problems. They really turn the car into a monster! They balance fine and hold just above the rated capacity. Thanks Hobby King!
