What is a good power supply to use with this unit?
 FoamEater 57 points
Hi Branko, this supply would be suitable: HobbyKing 350w 25A Power Supply. Just remember to get one suitable to your country's wall outlet A/C Voltage. There are 110vac and 220vac versions. This supply would allow you to use the charger to it's maximum potential with a little headroom in supply output.

Does any one know where to get instructions for the charger and HK products in general. I have bought several products and not one of them has come with instructions. Is this standard HK practise?
 ElectricAussie 2780 points
Hi Joe, Go to the International warehouse page for this charger (type "HK-Quattro" into the Search bar) and you'll find the PDF manual file under the Files tab. For some reason HK is really slack about loading the manuals into the Australia warehouse pages, so any time you buy something that should have a manual you can probably find it on the International page for the same item. Cheers!

I have had 2 of these chargers, both were lemons.Has the quality of these units improved?Be careful with these chargers, would be a good thing if they worked.

These looks like the SkyRC B6 Quattro, but they sell for around $250 here in Australia. Is this Hobbyking one the same re-badged or is the SkyRC one actually good?
 Jonathan 1 points
Yeah are the quality of the units been improved? Two of the ports on my Turnigy 4x6S charger has stopped working. Is that the same with this one?
 Leon 23 points
I have one of these units for just over a month now and use it every day, some times 1 battery sometimes all four, never had an issue.

arrived within 3 days and worked very well, balanced to within .02 volts ,can charge two 6s 5000 and two 3s 22oo at the same time connected to a 12 volt battery, with a battery charger connected charging at 5 amps. 2.5 amps each this is ok for me as I dont charge my batteries fast, I'm in no hurry. lead set is fine but i made up extra leads .balance plugs can be plugged straight into charger as long as you are careful. neg to right!! all in all im very happy.

Bought one with the same intention as everyone - sick of the single charge routine. Third charge (no ports above 1 amp charge) and the backlight has started flckering on #4... either a dry solder or component. Typical story, not bothering with returns. My advice until the quality has improved, you're better off trying your luck with the lotto...

I have had this unit for about a month now, love it, makes charging and discharging a breeze. 5a charge per port is not an issue as i'm never in that much of a rush plus i balance my batteries every charge. It is able to balance all my 2s batteries perfectly. Have not tried anything more then 2s. Only caveat is ensure you buy enough balancing boards (or you will have to plug the balance plug directly into the unit) and any adapters you will need for the battery type you need. It only comes with one XH balancing board and one each of a select few battery plug types. Alternatively you can cut the adapters of the ones that come with the unit and solder your preferred connector onto them.
