No, the motor would probably burn out on 4s, and it wouldn't be practical with that setup. I would use a 500-1000 mah 2s, or even a 500mah 3s for a little more power.
this plane is very forgiving about the cg. my cg is about halfway back on the wing and because this plane is so floaty and can fly so slow, it doesn't feel tail heavy at all. the cg range is over 2 inches
Yes, in fact you shouldn't use the 9in prop that is included, it will burn out the motor. I use a 8x4.3 GWS SF on 2s and it flies great with unlimited vertical.

surprizingly stiff after all the CF is glued in place. I added one full length piece on the fusalage after it folded a couple of times . 1300 way too heavy. I would run the new long/skinny 800 3s and velcro it on the top of the wing. I am still a rookie and this is only my second plane.Its a blast to fly and it is very forgiving
Does anyone have both this and the Tristania??, I am looking at one or the other, I think this one is newer, but the motor dosn't sound as nice. Thanks
the motor is plenty strong, i think a tiger motor would better suit this plane, but overall its a pretty good flyer, the wing fences on the paiget cause the ailerons to flutter at higher speeds, still working on shaving some weight to see if slow speed is anybetter,

Incredible plane. I have had two so far and am buying a third. The only real downfall is the motor.. Do not use the specified prop. It is too much for that motor. Of the two planes I have had the motor on the first was bad after the first flight. The second lasted 8 months. I use a cheapie GWS 8x4 prop. Hovers nice on 2s but has alot of punch out of a hover on 3s. The plane itself is great!!! I have beat the living crap out of these and they still fly. The only reason I am buying the third is that I have just beat the crap out of the other two. Hovering is pretty much hands off! I give the transmitter to anyone and say "FLY THIS" !!!!.... I seriously have a few hundred hours on each airframe so far.. GET ONE!!! you wont be disapointed. I would just get an extra motor or a better motor off the start.... Cant go wrong with the techone planes!!!!!
Plane arrived 3 days after i ordered it fm the USA warehouse [in Tacoma Wa]! Superb design & instruction manual & all high quality parts & none missing. Also extra CF rods & velcro. I love HobbyKing. Thanks. Hefty 1100 kv motor requires 18 amp ESC.
After I forgive this plane for it's acid flashback looks...I find a decent flyer. The alerions are not very responsive, I made a wooden extension for my servo arm to add 1 inch (for an arm that is a total of 2.5 inches long) and was able to get around it by increasing alerion throw. Very responsive on rudder and elevator...plenty of power on a nano-tech 2s 460ma battery. BE ADVISED that while the site says a 3s can be used, the instructions specify a 2s battery only...so use good throttle judgement if you put a 3s on it. That having been said this plane with a 610ma Rhino 3s is like having a feather with a V-8...loads of fun.

my kit arrived undamaged, ordered the recommended hobbykins ss 18a esc, bad outta the box, they must have changed the motor, the one in my kit is a techone 2050kv, ran a 3s800mah with 8x3.8 sf, motor gets way to hot, and wasnt even running at full throttle, the plane is sluggish with this setup and the wings flutter, i think this is due to those fences, gonna try a 2s with the 9x5 included prop, and go with stock setup, also i put 9g servos in it, the aileron throw i believe to be increased, but over all a nice plane, and i think once i get it dialed in should perform as expected, yes i would buy this plane again
