will this fit on a HK550 size heli, I'm planning to get 5 of them for cyclic (3 and two spares) and if you guys can recommend a good one for the rudder will also be really appreciated.
sorry pumpkinheaddelux I appreciate your reply but not sure whom your answering i am asking anybody if this servo would make a good tail rudder servo for my hk500cmt heli the servo holder on my hk600gt and 500cmt are the exact same dimensions the gyro i am using is a detrum gy48v will they pair up
I've ordered six of them for my Sbach, I've received them today. It's written on the boxes of each servo and on its stikers (TGY-1501), while here on the web site it says the model is (TGY-1501MG), the MG is for metal gear, so, did I received a metal gear ones ????
more than likely you have the correct servo, the easiest way is look at the top of the servo and if the shaft sticking out is a metalic color rather than a plain white then you have metal gear in there.
Sure, I've tried that at first, it was metalic, but you never know whats inside and all the packing and stickers dont mention any "MG" letters and not like as advertised, so I was in doupt until I recieved a confirmation from Jeffrey. Thank you Jacob for your briliant note.
Yes your right you never know what is inside but I have never seen a servo that has metal output shaft without metal gears I didn't mean to insult your intelligence with the answer before
Uh sorry jeffrey I think i miss read your reply I see you said or LARGER i thought i read or smaller My mistake However As well as they would work for a 55 inch plane Its way over kill But then again For the price Why not HA HA
Hi sorry for the confusion.Im have one in a 42" boat for the rudder. The boat has over 6 and 1/4 horse power and goes over 65 mph and the servo has plenty of power for that.I don't have a plane big enough for this servo.I run the HK Yellow standard servos in my plane for rudder and elevator and the next size down for alierons on my 53" bush plane. Thanks for straighting me out.Thanks.JK.
I think this servo is better suited for boats and cars I think I'm gonna give this one a miss and go with a digital. Ive seen a good one with good reviews for 28 bucks or so. Ill need 8 of them for my giant. If i was just using one or two Id take a chance and order them But 8 is to much to find out there no good for my plane.
I have a 35% aeroworks yak I was going to retire it forever because it is not worth spending a fortune to bring back to life its getting abit ugly. However if I can do it dirt cheap I will . I have found a drive train with will cost only 250 bucks Can I use these servos in a plane that size?
This is a standard size servo, weights a bit more the a futaba or hitec. If you are using standard size servos it will work great. Around 1400mm (55 inch)wing span and larger.Very stout servo,it is a little loud, but I have a few that have be in service for over a year and used every weekend with no problems.Usa warehouse has a few more that are a little lighter and they are all good also.Hope this helps JK.
Oh my gosh Why would you use a 17 kg/cm servo for a 55 inch span plane That's about 250 inch ounce I can see if its not enough for a 35% possibly but using it for a 55 inch span plane would be like towing a rubber dinged on a trailer with a 6000 horse power train locomotive Physical size doesn't matter my Hangar 9 beast has standard size servos but ten times the torque is a standard TORQUE servo. Thanks for trying to help Jeffrey But I think you have things mixed up abit As the saying goes SIZE doesnt matter
what's the rotational range of these and how do I know how many volts will be going into these servos- will be using to in a pan tilt FPV antenna tracker - the ground station will be running off of a 3S lipo? thanks in advance
Hey-slick I too wondered if these would work for a 500 as I am about to move up, after reading the data I dont think I am going to go with these servos as it seems kinda slow and the numbers dont add up(based on what others have posted) for what I would want for a bird of this size we should go with a faster & stronger one hope this helps ?
Will I think I changed my mind and going to give these a shot since they are in stock & dont want to wait (lol) maybe a bad move but what the hell put'em on a 500 see what happens ?
i doubt that it will fit that it is definitely way too large
servo dimensions:
40.7x20.5x39.5mm
traxxas 2080(stock) servo dimensions:
30.5×*14.0×*27.9 mm
too large in every field
it is more apropriate for an e maxx maybe
stock 2075 dimensions:
(55.1×*20.1×*38.1 mm)

Bought this servo to replace one with only 10kg/cm torque, the Turnigy had significantly less power. This is more realistically a 7 or 8kg/cm servo. You get what you pay for, luckily i did not waste much money.

I BOUGHT 2 OF THEM, NOT BAD AT ALL, I PUT I IN MY 1/8 SCALE ELEC. BUGGY (OFNA LXe) AND ONE IN MY (LOSI SCTE 4X4), BOTH WORKED BETTER THAT JR S4800S SERVOS. I AM PLEASED TO PAY LESS THAN $12 AND I AM WAITING FOR THEM TO GET RE-STOCKED SO I CAN BUY MORE FOR MY OTHER RIGS. BUT THEY ARE SLOWER, BUT SO WORTH THE MONEY.

I bought 5 if these servos and installed them in a 33pcnt extra, while setting up the surface throws the rudder servo would start to glitch, so I bought another one and that one was good. I have flown the plane numerous times and they still work. I can't talk about the actual torque or speed vs rated. The negative would be the light weight servo arms provided with a servo of this rated power. The servos are inexpensive then you have to buy heavy duty servo arms.
