Too bad that I just found out that this upgrade can ONLY be done with the PRO version! Not the std version. Not good info HK .. Bought this for nothing.

It is for the pro version :) Earlier versions cant be upgraded.

I cannot see any info on the FeiYu Tech site about any USB interface cable. What does/can it do and does it require software ? Thanks for any info ..

Have a look at the file tab this will answer your question. Strange now there is no mention of the FY90Q Pro on there web site

Worked perfectly. Downloaded the PL2303 drivers from prolific (chip vendor) and did the Fyetech 1.2 upgrade. The parameter settings were as per instructions but couldnt make the read buttons work (in the settings software) The cable will probably be handy for other stuff where a simple USB-COM bridge is needed.
