Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 3536-1050kv Brushless Outrunner Motor
Turnigy SK3 Motors are the next leap forward in motor quality and design.
We instructed the engineers to source the best quality magnets, bearings and materials available to them and develop a motor that would not only rival, but surpass the quality of many leading motor manufactures on the market today.
The result is an efficient, high caliber motor using quality double shielded bearings, sintered Neodymium magnets and a string wound stator ensuring an accurate and consistent winding each and every time. The Turnigy SK3 motors are suited to modelers who are seeking a quality brushless motor without compromise.
10x6 draws about 31 amps static on 3S and 48A static on 4S. 48 Amps is much too high. The motor is rated at 34A and that assumes very good cooling. Most of these Turnigy motors use 80 deg C magnets, and if you exceed that temp they will be irreversibly damaged (demagnetized). At 48A eCalc predicts 106 C case temp so probably 110 at the magnets and much higher at the windings. This will demagnetize the magnets or damage the insulation on the windings. For 4S a 9x5 or 9x6 is as far as you probably want to go.
1 thumbs up!
have one in my MPX acromaster. the first advantage that I noticed was the smooth behavoir of the motor. no more resonance in the body!
the acromaster is known for its resonance, so I allready glassed the interior of the motorspace, made a custom motor support, and with my prevoius *cheap* motor, it still vibrated.
now I can go full power, and the body doesn't even move ! what a difference. measurements with a APC 12 X 6 prop, 3 S 2200mAH LIPO : 360W ; 11V ; 32A

1 thumbs up!
All I can say is WOW! This motor is AMAZING!!! I have it in the Hobby King Domin8trix and it has UNLIMITED vertical ability! Not only that it is super smooth and I get run times of 6mins with 2500 3s packs running at 3/4 to full throttle! I love this motor and all the guys at the field were ogling over the performance! I highly recommend it! Get it while they have them in stock! I just ordered a second one to go in my Hyperion Yak55!
