The Hobbyking SS series comes with a limited range of programming functions and are designed to be plug-n-play. A perfect ESC for those looking for something simple to use and economic.
I just received this esc and its wont work well it works but its Keeps the motor stuck its wont move freely when on but when u turn it off it spins and when powering on it won't play a tune it just beeps
I tryed that but it run it only doesn't let the motor move freely when on like on stand by so it's like when the motor is running, I turn down the power and try to spin it with my hands it like stiff
looked at my and it does the same thing so i tried to reprogram it and then it came free its a break that makes it do that.the program is in the file tap when you hear the
bibs by the second time on the break, just put the throttle stick to idle on the required setup you'll hear some bibs that it took it then some more that means it's out of program.
You can always use a higher amp rated ESC and in fact it is much safer to you electrical system to do this. It will not overheat the motor. The only thing is you do not want to get more than you need because the esc gets heavier as you increase the amp size and you will sacrifice performance of the model.Check the max amp draw of your motor in the specs and go about 20-30% higher. Hope this helps.
Hobby Robbie is right but i don't go 15% above amp that the motor calls for if you do you can burn your motor if don't have the right propeller or geared right were the the motor wants more amps than it can handle and then over heat.
Has anyone combined the FET's of two of these for a higher amperage? I have 4 that I got For a Quadracopter and was thinking of desoldering them to combine onto two, giving me a potential 36-40A?
I wish someone would have answered you. I asked this question awhile back on here and rc univ. I have a blown 70a turnigy trust but the fets are working and wanted to adhere them to a controller....
My stock ESC on my plane let out the magic smoke, so I ordered this and 4 days later it arrived.
I soldered it up, plugged it in, and it beeped all the right beeps. Ran some test and my motor was still pulling 14A just like before.
Took the plane down to the park and flew it kinda "sporty". Stopped to check the temp a few times and it was warm to the touch but not hot. Can't beat the price for this ESC. Thanks HK!
I bought one of these from a club member and love it in small foam planes. I have one in my cub. I am using four HXT 900 servos with a 18000mah 3 cell lipo pulling 15 amps at full throttle with no problems. These work great. I just ordered two more and expect the same quality with my next project.

Not sure what the point is of having a US warehouse if it takes half a year for an item to get back in stock... Still waiting on a shipment...
