Hi Shayne, Ignore the "4 x 9g~15g" spec shown above. This plane is way too big for 9g servos. I'm using 12g-13g metal gear servos and they have stood up to the abuse of 3D flying with no problems. A few item numbers to look at are PRODUCT ID: TGY-9018MG, PRODUCT ID: DS-929MG, and PRODUCT ID: DS939MG. Just copy/paste the ID into the Search box at top of page and the link to the items will appear. I've used all 3 of these servos and they're great ... quick, precise, strong, and cheap. Cheers, EA!
Hi Andrew, The front of the motor box reaches the cowl nose, so any motor that fits the box and has at least 600W/1800g of power/thrust will give good aerobatic performance. Have a look at the Turnigy 3639 Brushless Motor 750kv (PRODUCT ID: T3639-750). It has gobs of power, is relatively light, and will easily fit this plane. It comes with a 5mm collet type prop adapter. Cheers!
Can some one help I have a problem with an appropriate prop adaptor. I cannot find one long enought to allow an attached prop to clear the cowl. With the motor mounted as recommended (behind the firewall in the wooden cage)the motor shaft does not provide sufficient length to fix a prop adaptor so the prop will clear the front of the cowl. Please advise how anyone has overcome this pronlem Cheers & thanks GS
If you want to keep the plane around 1500 to 1600grams you will be best off mounting motor in front of cage, other wise you will need a larger battery to keep from being tail heavy. i'm using NTM 3548 (900kv) with a 2200mah battery. short flights but lower wing loading.
This plane is great value for money, cant go wrong. It flies like a larger scale extra and is very smooth in flight. i am running a Turnigy 4s 2200mah lipo, 4x hextronic 9g servos, KD 36-10XL Brushless Outrunner 900Kv, 13x6.5 apc prop and a 60A hobby king esc/bec. has plenty of power and will fly vertical with ease. It also glides well on landing and doesn't loose speed in a hurry.

very happy with the way this flys ,, needed to put glue in as may places as i cold get too , as it was very light on from the factory , iv run a 2200 mh 11.1 3 cell with 55 amp turagy esc , , with waypoint 3230 970kv , outrunner , with 12x4 pulling 46amps , all up the plane ways 1.48kg with 2.2 kg of satic thust , only gave 3 crowns for quality ,,of the lack of glue and the poor instuctions and two holes missing for the elavator link wire , but the over all finish of the plane is good ,,

This is a great buy, I am running 4s 2200 X 2 (easy to balance CG) with a 35-48 1100 motor and 12X6 prop. Only weak point is the UC mounting...needs a bit of extra wood and glue. Watch the tail alignment when glueing. Plane flies great, lands well and does all it's supposed to!!!

this is one great airplane. Itwent together very easy, very good quality , at avery good price. I fly mine on 4 cells,4000ma, it takes off at half throttle, loops and rolls beautifully, and this on the maiden flight, This model is going to teach me how to fly like the pros. For the record i am a licensed pilot with constant speed prop and retractable u/c and an aerobatic end on the victa airtourer. Happy flying everybody ???
