The Scorpion HK-4015-1450KV motors have been developed for the 500 class electric helicopters with 500mm blade for 6s Lipo setup. These motors are designed to provide all the power that you can use, while still maintaining excellent efficiency and cool running characteristics.
Scorpion HK Series Brushless Motors are built from the best materials available, and are designed to provide both quality and performance at an affordable price. Scorpion starts with high quality aluminum alloy parts that are produced on the latest CNC milling machines. These parts are then gold anodized to provide a beautiful, long-lasting finish. The stators are made with 0.2mm laminations to give maximum efficiency, and minimum Eddy current losses. The stators are epoxy coated to prevent shorts, and are wound with wire that is rated at 180 degrees C (356 F). The magnets used in Scorpion Motors are rated for operation at 200 degrees C (392 F), making a motor that is virtually impossible to burn up in normal use.
All Scorpion HK-4015 series motors come with 4mm male Bullet style connectors already attached, and include a hardware package that contains 3 matching female Bullet connectors for your speed controller with matching heat shrink tubing. For maximum strength, the Scorpion HK-4015 series motors feature an 8mm motor shaft that is ground down to a 5mm diameter at the output end to fit standard size pinion gears. Since the HK series motors are primarily designed for Helicopter and Ducted Fan use, they do not include a prop adapter. If you intend on running a prop on this motor, you will need to purchase a prop adapter for a 5mm shaft.

I don't think so. There are plenty of cheaper motors that will work. This one has too high of kv and much too low of torque. You need something like:NTM Prop Drive 50-60 270KV / 2400W
or Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 5065-320kv
If you want to turn that prop with a 4s lipo at usable speeds, it is highly unlikely you'll find the motor here. You need a custom motor to do that. The closest motor here to giving you the desired results on 4s is a heavy inrunner: XK5692-540KV. The max prop it can turn on 4s is 18x6, but it weighs 900g.
hi there, i have just got a 600 size heli and just wanted to know what motor would be good for that sized heli. I have been told that the scorpion motors are the best but I am not sure on which one.
most of the 40xx and 50xx heli motors will do. but it also depends on the number of lipo cells you want to use as well as the brand and make of your heli.
for 500 size with 500mm main blade? i know for 425mm and 475mm but 500mm... And if you put 500mm blade what kind of tail blade you have to put from a 450!!!

it fit perfect on hk 500 , trex 500 or gaui 425
gaui 425 is a 500 class heli (425mm blade)
if you shearch extreme 3D , this motor seems perfect for you it work well with Turnigy dlux 100A SBEC Brushless Speed Controller and 6S turnigy 2.45-3.00 30C
I agree about being the best, but still think that 3 cheaper motors instead, used wisely, will last longer:)Have few different Turnigy brand motors for No of years with no problems.
more 82% and depending lipo (contro is tgy super brain 80A) it is very very powerfull i speak about real efficient , not spec efficient usualy tgy motor are 50-75% efficient axi are 78-85% scorpion are more axi , magnet can turn up to 180°C without probleme
If it fitted perfect on a trex 500 jool2metz i cannot agree. Atleast u need the kde motor mount or work the fram to fit the motor. I had to take of the bottom plate to get it into place. The second problem u will notice is the long shaft on the motor, seems u need another pinion like the revco or something, becuz aligns 15t pinion doesnt work because the main gear comes to far down on the pinion itself.
I use this motor on my HK600GT with a 13T Pinion and 2 x Polyquest 5S 2200mah in parallel (also a 2200mah 2S for the 8A BEC)Great for normal flying! 1800 Headspeed & very efficient.
