More than just a fancy name. TURNIGY nano-tech lithium polymer batteries are built with an LiCo nano-technology substrate complex greatly improving power transfer making the oxidation/reduction reaction more efficient, this helps electrons pass more freely from anode to cathode with less internal impedance.
In short, less voltage sag and a higher discharge rate than a similar density lithium polymer (non nano-tech) battery.
Unfortunately with other big brands, numbers, ratings and graphs can be fudged. Rest assured, TURNIGY nano-techs are the real deal, delivering unparalleled performance!
The nano-core technology in lithium ion batteries is the application of nanometer conductive additives.
1) The nanometer conductive additives form ultrastrong electron-conducting networks in the electrodes which can increase electronic conductivity. 2) These additives create a superstrong ability for imbibition in the carrier liquid to supply more ion channels. This improves the ability of ion transmission and ion diffusion. Through improving electronic conductivity and ion transmission, the impedance is reduced and the polarization of high rate discharge decreases greatly.
Advantages over traditional Lipo batteries: -Power density reaches 7.5 kw/kg. -Less Voltage sag during high rate discharge, giving more power under load. -Internal impedance can reach as low as 1.2mΩ compared to that of 3mΩ of a standard Lipoly. -Greater thermal control, pack usually doesnt exceed 60degC -Thickness swelling during heavy load doesnt exceed 5%, compared to 15% of a normal Lipoly during heavy load. -Higher capacity during heavy discharge. More than 90% at 100% C rate. -Fast charge capable, up to 15C on some batteries. -Longer Cycle Life, almost double that of standard lipoly technology.
Thanks, but I ended up just buying 10awg cable, 4mm bullet connectors and some deans plugs and soldered my own. P.S. it's the deans connector on the xs flux.
I dont see why not, you could also try to fit it inside a baloon and then use shrink tubing on the end of the baloon, will keep almost all the water out
I am a noob at rc cars and trucks and i got a stampede vxl for xmas and i am looking for a good battery that will give me more power and alot more run time. if anyone could help me with pointing me in the right direction i would be thankful..
the nano-tech 6000 will give you great run time and plenty of punch. you will just have to solder a traxxas connector onto the leads that come with the battery
well, of course, a 4s pack will give you much better punch. imagine that instead of 7,4V (or 8,4 when freshly charged) you will have DOUBLE THE VOLTAGE!! 16,8V .
Now think of how an electric motor works with fresh batteries (equal more V) and how it works when the batteri starts to drain out. (equal less V)
Cheers
the punch of the batteries is even better than some certain high end triple priced lipo's. I am using it in serpent 811-be and yokomo bd-7 without any issue with very high performance. Also had no problem with high heat during an asphalt race in summer with 45celcius degrees weather.
I use these batteries in the following vehicles and have no issues with size
Team associated B4.1
Team associated T4
Sakura zero s
3 Racing FGX
Awesome run times for practice sessions and perfect for racing
Can anyone tell me if this will fit in a genesis catamaran hull. I'm putting together an order so haven't yet got the boat here to check myself. Thanks in advance.
Yes the dimensions are accurate, i bought it 1 years ago and i saw dimension for Summit and the dimension are perfect. I advise you this battery are awesome product!
Select "I like it" if you're happy.
Yes you can as long as your ESC supports Lipos with Voltage Cut-off. You will have to do some minor adjustments to the battery post, but it should fit like a glove.
Well, if you plan to use more of these batteries, i would recommend soldering bullet connectors to your ESC. If you don't have any experience with soldering, you can buy adapters suited for your need. But really, it's not so difficult once you've done it a couple times..
you would have to modify the case pretty heavily to get the wires in there. Then for soldiering the 8AWG wires in there you will need a hot iron for the job probably 60 watt or better. I wouldn't advise attempting this unless you are very experienced with a soldering iron.
I was thinking in leaving them without the hardcase....also, I would like some 8 awg due to the drain that they will have....I do have a hot iron (40 - 100w)...i'm experienced with soldering...but I don't feel like an expert...Seems that I will wait until they arrive and see them with my other eyes (hands)
Batteries are designed to be the most efficient for their cost and size. If your looking to spend more to modify and get more juice out of your batteries. Spend it on better ones. They will last longer, and will be less likely to fail. It is always unadviseable to open batteries- especially without technical experience. For the amps your going to pull the increase in wire size will yeild a marginal benefit if any. Less clean connections will cause added resistance and slow your ride.
I try them using as a 4S bat. They work fine, but seems that sometimes they just can't keep the drain of the esc/motor, their output seems to be a bit irregular, sometimes hitting the lipo cut off (set to 3.5 volts) when they still have voltage. The wires gets hot, a nice upgrade would be better wires.
You can and you will need 2 of them if you are running the EVX-2 ESC.
Also make sure your ESC has a low voltage cut off otherwise you will run the risk of over discharging your LiPos and ruining them.
Got 2 questions: 1) Would this batteries handle a 150A esc with a castle 1515 2200kv conectaed like 4S on a truggy with 21/54 (not sure about the second number but is the original spur of the hyper st) 2) At how many C could this batteries be charged? Description says 15C...but don't specify if this can be charged at that rate. What rate would you reccomend?
Yes running 2 in a series to get 4S will work well.
I would see about using thicker gauge wire though.
I have never charged mine at 10C because I don't have a charger that will put out that high of an amperage. However I have charged mine at 2C\12A and it takes it like a champ.
THIS LIPO BATTERY IS AWESOME A LOT OF POWER I TRY TO XRAY T3R 2011 WITH ESC 60A 380A BURST COMBO 5.5T 6000KV WITH SPUR 84T PINION 25T VERY GOOD TEMP. AFTER 35-40 MINUTES OF PLAY WITH OUTSIDE TEMP 30 celcius ESC 40 celcius MOTOR 45 celcius AND BATTERY 40 celcius.GREAT PRICE GREAT QUALITY

Incredible battery. I felt a huge difference from 4000mah, 5000mah 20-30c batteries. Like running with dual engines.
Even against the 5800mah nanotech theres is noticeable difference.
When switching to another battery i need to alter my drivestyle, since this thing has so much power. Hence, i will get a full set of these so i won't have to switch between different types of batteries.

Anyone who thinks MAXAMPS packs are the best is a complete FOOL, these Nano's are 1/3 the price and far exceed performance hands down. They provide massive punch and amps and never exceed ambiant temps in Fl. Summer weather in a 6.5lb SCTE in a 8min Main. Awesome !
