Got it today..
Just measured 4 of this booms
Outer diameter : 12.0-12.1mm
Inner diameter : 10.9-11.0mm
Weight 11gr
Length 345mm
Precut hole on one end only
The end with hole have smaller diameter then opposite end,
0.1mm difference, but probably this is not always so...
Looks strong enough.. Planning to use as quadrocopter
frame arms.
It will fit for your HK-450 Pro TT,I just order 5 pces and fit them with torque tube GT450pro-145 no problem. The dimensions wrote on description item are not correct, I measure with calliper OD is 11.9mm and ID 11.06mm Tot length is correct 347mm.
The only thing missing is the small hole for the tail unit but you can easily do it your self, it's even better as you could adjust it as you like for perfect fit. Thx HK :-)
I have crashed with this boom and it survived perfectly. where in a similar crash my alloy boom was badly bent.
So to answer part of your question: yes it will be much stronger and bounce back from stresses well.
Can someone please clarify because there are a number of mixed reports* which is better fitting for a hk450 belt drive
This tail boom (HK450 carbon tail boom) for $2.55
or the similar ( CF Tail Boom for Align T-Rex and HK-450 Helicopters (HZ018) ) for $3.02
Thanks in advance
the outer diameter is big for the HK450v2 too. I have 2 of them and 12,3mm and 12,2. anyway it fits good fot the tail rotor but I can tight the tail holder piece to the end.
Very interesting. Multiple samples of 10981 do not fit on my 450GT pro's tail unit: the OD is too large. Do you have a caliper to measure your 10981 sample's actual OD?
Ragamofyn, I measured my 10981 with a caliper today, and it's between 12.02 - 12.05 if I turn around the diameter of it. Maybe you got yours from a batch with a larger diameter. Mine fits just fine for the 450 Pro I have.
Thanks for that information, Wireman. I'm going to check over my own 10981 and see how it compares with your measurements. Thanks again for the effort. Much appreciated.
I just took a sample of my 10981: 12.21 at the boom clamp end, 12.38 at the tail rotor end (worst case). Thanks for letting me know, Wireman. I'll try ordering some new 10981s and see how they work out.
Today I received this 17126 tail boom and it's between 12.05 (boom clamp) and 12.18 (tail rotor. And it's 53 cents less compared to the 10981. A little better deal then! :-)
good and cheap bar and 450 V1 and V2, V3 PRO, worth recommending about the quality seamless installation in Copterx 450V2 good balance of performance and recommend stiffens the tail much stronger than aluminum
Super finish and real carbon. A bit thin but should resist a hard landing. Can confirm that these do fit in a HK450 PRO (belt type). 2 modifications: drill a holde for the pin at tail side and enlarge/file a longer split at the boom holder. Perfect, and for the price - buy a couple..
