Ive flown this a few times with the motor suggested here (FC 28-22) and 8x6 prop. Ive noticed I need 70-80% throttle most of the time to maintain altitude.
Is there a slightly higher power motor I can use so that cruising is a little easier? Thanks
Ditch that prop, go with 8060dd prop, holds the power, twice the thrust and it will climb decently, without falling out of the sky, lol. Tried many props but this one works best for the price. Motor windings looks new after fifty flights, pulls 220 watts and 20 amps, zippy 1300
Just got this plane the other day and had to make a few modifications etc.. Still working on it and then need to fly it. Does anyone know what ESC this has or details on programing it?
I don't recommend using any stock esc, I swapped mine out for a 30 turnigy, flying all summer and no problem. Stock slowfly prop is brutal, switched to a 8060 gws dd and I has a lot of vertical now, running a 1300 zippy 15c. Plenty of power..
I have just recieved this product and i can say that it's a great one really well finished and it flies well. The only thing is that I had to block the font wheel. Another thing is that the battery compartement is a little bit small but little modifications permit to solve this problem :)
Jon yes they are pre fitted. May I add sometime not very well. But as Jason said you can remove them. But once removed the do not re stick very well. Also they tend to cover joins in the foam I hope we have helped.
fsdh Jason is correct. You will need to set them up with a servo. this will secure them. Or just connect the wires and fix them at neutral. As Jason said the 4th channel goes to the rudder and most of us do not use the rudder. So you can us the 4th channel to run flaps if you wish. Also you could but the Turnigy9X or Hobby King 6 at a great price. I hope this helps
I did not find much room in the tray for a larger battery. the difference betwenn a 1300 and 1500 is somewhere around 20 mm longer, you may have toi trim alittle, it seems as though in stock form you only have 12mm ish of extra room in there.
Hi, how do I know which battery can I use for this plane?
It states 1300mah 3S , but how many C? 10C 20C 30C 40C 50C? Can I use a higher mah as well? Please advise.
*mamed ok look at the picture that shows the rudder and elevator servos see the extra control rod on the left servo? that is what they call steering linkage lol the front wheel turns along with the rudder.

However, my recomendation goes to AXN plane. EPO made, motor rear faced, ailerons, able to fly slowly.... And it's surely not expensive.
Can someone recommend my a motor that fits well on that plane ? I know one needs a 1400Kv but then...? They are plenty of 1400Kv on that webstore...

Hi Vincent, the suggested combo FC 28-22 Brushless Outrunner 1200kv will fit as a glove on this plane. I have that combination myself. It's a cheap and good motor as well.
Just for the sake of argument (Airplanes have Float's)
( Helicopter's have pontoon's) and when a airplane has float's on it's called a FLOAT PLANE not a SEAPLANE just something that alway's bug me.... LOL i'm not yelling at any one just helping thx
The floats should be quite strong and you should be able to land in long grass with them (as with a plane without undercarriage) but the safer option would still be to go with the actual landing gear it comes with
He should not land with the float, look that he has the rudder in the float, if you land will break the rudder, remember: float is for water, in the gram it uses the fixed landing gear.
Friend's easier to use the landing gear (wheels) with the float because He may bite and break the best helice you buy both when they want to land uses of the water and float on the grass when the wheel
the front wheel IS steerable, only thing is the screw that locks the "oleo" spring in place has way too much slop in it, its uncontrolable so i sugest you glue that in place or tap a new hole for a larger screw if you want to to be sprung. i just glues it in and it work perfectly now
great plane, perfect, has a good finish, but was missing the elevator, otherwise I recommend (if you do not miss the elevator). . .

shipping was a week to S.A, i recieved it with the box not damaged but not much protection for the fuze that was in the top of the box. I checked that all the parts were there as i read that it was pretty common to have parts missing, they were all in the box so that was cool. The instruction manual is vaugue to say the least so a bit of experiance is helpfull here, although its not difficult as so much has been done for you. Other than that its a cool little plane. Havent had a chance to maiden her as the wind is hectic here in August. I have noticed that the two pointy bits on the wing are very fragile so those i put a light coat of epoxy on to make them stronger, they really should be plastic. i aslo found that the nose wheel has a lot of slop in it which makes it very hard to steer so that needs a mod for it to actually steer, i just glued it on the sprung part of the wheel and it sorted that out. Also i tried in vain to get the linkage rods to line up in site the grooves but that wasnt happening on this plane they just seem to be in the wrong place. i had to modify one of the servo trays on the wing for the ailerons to get it line up without snagging and stalling the servo.
When I received this plane, it was my precious.Good Build Quality and good Price, I have mounted a nice engine, my best servos and ESC. I wanted this plane to be perfect. I had some trouble with the linkage in the wings to make them fit in the wing but no major problem. It's true the front wing is loss, I have reduced the movement by adding a colar to the screw but still. A standard spring would have been better than the aluminium column with shock absorber. Anyway, yesterday I did the maiden Flight, FYI I fly RC over 2 years and have over 10 models EDF,Scale, multi engines, Heli etc... and I could not fly it....First attempt when the plane gained speed it tiped over the front wheel that got sideway, I removed the foam to give more clearance to the wheel and did a second try. Second try I allowed the plane to gain plenty of speed, as i took off the plane tip stall and hit the runway by the wing. Hopefully no crash. Then I noticed I had like 1-2 degrees of flap down, so I reduced it to zero and tried for the last time, Plane got full speed, and before i pulled the elevator it tipped over the front landing gear... broken engine Mount. I havent crashed this year yet.. very disapointed with this plane as Liked the design.. I have another Cessna from HK but she has different wing size and shapes, and she is a beauty to fly the cessna 182 with no windows. My advice beginner/intermediate stay away from this plane
