Easy to fly, and literally 5 minutes to assemble. The Quicksilver GT-700 is a great fun plane for all skill levels. Motor, ESC and Servo are pre-installed and the included D27XX/10A power system gives long flight times and plenty of power on as little as a 600mAh 2S battery.
The Quicksilver is a great fun parkflyer. Its unique scale detail, Carbon Fiber frame and EPO wing are robust and easily repairable.
The included pilot is removable, in place of small FPV systems or onboard cameras. Spec.
I ordered Quicksilver rc november 7th and it still has not arrived. After numerous excuses from Ivy and Cheryl i contacted papal and registered a complaint. I will post it if paypal is able to resolve.
I too found that the elevator servo won't return to centre. The servo flexes in its mount preventing the elevators from moving properly. Anyone got any ideas hw to correct this problem please?
I replaced the stock servo with an esky 8g and modified the elevator to use one pushrod. This was the perfect mod for this little plane. I have some hxt500 servos on order and will be using these for the elevator to save on weight. If you need more help contact me through rcgroups**** (pilot_dragonfly) www.link
No not yet.I wrapped the joints on my quicksilver with kevlar thread and ca'd them making for a much stronger joint. You can also use nylon thread that works just as good. Keep posting for parts, the more people that do the better. Applying pressure may just work!
You could also go to your local hardware store and buy some "JB Weld: JB Stick Steel Reinforced Epoxy Putty" put that on the broken pieces and it will be stronger than ever before. This it what i did and it works great.
Bought this plane after watching the video. MISTAKE! FIRST, no CG location is shown, only "install the block of metal and fly the plane" This resulted in a very nose heavy plane (I'm using a 500mah 2s lipo) SECOND, The elevtor servo would not return to center. It uses TWO control cables installed in sheaths and bind quite heavily. Both elevator control cables are attached to the arm of a single 5g servo. THIRD, the carbon fiber rods are VERY fragile and break free at the first less than perfect landing. Also, it does not appear replacement parts are available. Doesn't look like HK thought out this project very well before putting it on the market. It's disappointing because HK usually puts out a quality product at a very fair price. BUT HEY! the Quicksilver is a beautiful "Hangar Queen".......I'm still a customer of HK and take the "Good, the Bad and the Ugly"
The CG should be 33 BACK measured from the main wing leading edge. Put your fingers under the wing at this spot and add/delete nose weight as needed. Remember, a nose heavy plane flies much better than a tail heavy plane. (Don't ask me how I learned this!) If you have a radio with dual rates, put the low rates on 1/8" UP/Down and 1/4" UP/DOWN on high. Best of luck!
Where can i get spare parts for the Quicksilver mainley the carbin fiber rods used for the airframe and the fittings to join the rods together? 21/3/2011 kiwini
If you broke some of the rods you could go to your local hardware store and buy some "JB Weld: Steel Reinforced Epoxy Putty" for $6, put some of that on the rod where it is broken and it will be stronger than ever before. This is what i did and it works great.
does HK stock any good planes in the USA? and when do they ever fill backorders? seriously? why bother if your gonna not stock or refill stock, just plain silly.
you do only need a 3 channel radio and the plane does come with 3 servos. But I would go for a 4 channel radio just incase you want to add a servo for the rubber (which is not included but can be added). And yes there are 2 servos for airlerons and 1 servo for elevator.
My prop blew apart when it contacted my finger! I replaced it with a GWS 7 x 6. I bought a 7 x 4 also, but upon looking at the pitch of the stock 3 blade, the 7 x 6 seemed closer.
I like this plane, ad a working rudder (easy to do) and this little plane will fly like it's on rails, only slow :o)

I really dont see what all the complaining is about! The plane flys very well and landing are very easy. First time up it flew great and landed very smoothly with no broken parts! Yes it does need a smooth surface for take offs but I landed in the grass with no problems. It just glided right in. Thanks Hobbyking, I will be buying another quicksilver! Just too much fun!

I am very happy with this little plane and really dont see what all the complaining is about. It is not for beginners and is not a trainer! Don't buy it unless you are ready for some home mods. Yes it does need a smooth surface to take off from but lands in the grass very well. I am having a blast with it! It would be nice to have spare parts available as well as props but this is a scale plane basically held together by glue and sticks. You must expect it to get broken if you have rough landings or smack the ground. If you break it just be creative and repair it. Gws props will work on this plane. I plan to buy a couple more! Keep it up Hobbyking I love this one!

I LOVE this little model! It's very unique in the air and VERY quick to build. I first flew it with a two cell 600mAh pack and found it was flyable, but a little sketchy in the air. Then I switched to a THREE cell 500mAh 40C pack and THIS made ALL THE DIFFERENCE! Much more authority during take offs, much more control authority in the air! I find myself flying it at just over half throttle for the most part, but with 3 cell at full throttle it is quick and fun to loop, roll and tumble! I've seen a few reviews describing the model as "fragle", not really so! True, it's as fragile as ANY built up model, and if you dork it in, yaaa, it's going to break ~ but keep in mind, this isn't supposed to be a beginner's model - that's what Easy Star's are for. I'd LOVE to see a MUCH LARGER version of one of these!!! Three times this size with rudder and steerable nose gear - I'm IN! Building suggestions = mount your RX behind the pilot's seat, velcro the 3cell 500mAh lipo right in top of the speed controller, glue the nose weight a little towards the rear of it's mounting location. I also replaced the 5 gram elevator servo with a 9 gram and had to apply a bit of oil in the elevator push-rods sleeves because of double centering elevator characteristics = problem solved. NO LETS GET A BIGGER ONE!!! :D

I purchased the Quicksilver so I could have something for a park flyer, with no instructions I did the CG checks and the first/last flight; the thing got about a foot off the ground, rolled over on its top and hit the ground. The frame disintegrated with no way to repair, total loss. I used 3/4 throttle just as the video shows but the results are a pile of fiberglass.
I am a master flyer of many types of RC and real Cessna 182's. this plane is not worth the money you pay for. Trying to get a hold of HK for warranty return or exchange.....
