How are these compaired to Turnigy nano-tech 2200mah 3S 25~50C? I just purchased the Turnigy because these were out of stock, then the next day they came in and the next day out of stock again
I laid off flying for awhile but when I went to charge my zippy 2200 3s 20c with my triton charger. It wouldn't let me charge the battery. It gave me a reading of battery to low. The battery was charged once since I purchased it. Is this battery **** or can it be charged?
It might be chargeable. If you can, charge it at a low amp setting (.1-.5) until warm. Test, then recharge as needed.
Note- Lipo batteries shouldn't be stored fully charged.
Should I charge and discharge my batteries periodically if I'm not using them much? How often should I do that? I assume that means I should charge them up to full capacity, and then immediately discharge them. I assume I should discharge them using " storage" mode. If I discharge them using " discharge" mode, don't I risk ruining the battery by discharging it too much? Thanks for any comments. This forum has been very helpful. - John
Well, there are many opinions on lipo storage. Personally, I charge them to storage levels (3.8v) if they will not be used for more that two days. I randomly check the battery voltage, and re charge as needed.
I have just recieved these batteries and despite their 2200 rating, theyre the same size as my 1500 and theyre smaller than my 1800. Ive bought a 2200 zippy before and it was bigger, is this bad? will it still work good on my 450 heli?

I have been using alkaline batteries for a long time and they maintain the allowable voltage for a long time and you DON'T have to charge them. Just replace them when they wear out. Forget the other type batteries which you have to charge over and over again.
I have this battery. I have had it about a year. It only has about 20 charges on it. I haven't used it in months. I stored it in the house so no extreme heat or cold and it was stored at 11.2V (3.74V each cell). Now I get it out and it is slightly puffed (it's a little more then 1/8" thicker then the new one I just bought). Is this normal? The cells are very close in voltage (3.76V to 3.84V) and it seems to work fine. I haven't tryed to charging it again. Is this normal?
I have charged puffy packs and they return to normal size when fully charged. Just remember to keep an eye on the battery as its charging and keep it away from anything flammable. You might try a charge/discharge cycle to check capacity.
I've never seen one go back to normal size from charging. You can stick it in the freezer overnight, but I think it will puff right back up first use. Probably ok to still use till it puffs way up, but i'd charge it in a lipo bag just to be sure.
Lipos should be stored in a discharged condition. Storing them charged or even mostly charged for a period of more than a week or so will result in puffing.
I believe the 'P' refers to the number of packs in parallel. For example, a 3S1P pack is a single stack of 3 cells at 11.1V, while a 3S2P would be a stack of 6 cells at 11.1V. That would be two parallel 3S packs in one.
I have these 2200mah 3cell 20c zippys and will be using a HiTEC X4 charger where I can set the charge rates. Can someone tell me what would be the be setting to charge at (amps,voltage,etc) Thank you
Max amps is calculated with: C rate * MAh / 1000. So in this case, 2C max charge * 2200MAh/1000 (2*2200/1000) is 4.4Amps. However, unless you have a reason to charge that quickly, it's best to keep it well below the max. In fact, for quick charging I wouldn't go more than 75% of the top end, so 3amps or so for a quick charge. I usually charge at 0.5a in an attempt to extend the life of the battery.
This battery is rated at a 2C charge rate. 1C would be 2.2 amps. 2C would be 2x 2.2 amps, or 4.4 amps. Per the manufacturers specs then you can safely charge this battery at 4.4 amps.
Has anyone other than me received every order of batteries shipped from the US warehouse damaged? All they did was place a wad of paper on top the battery boxes so when the post office tossed them around (as they do all smaller packages) the ends were crushed. Same thing happened on the re-order.

So I got a bunch of these and one of them 2 of the 3 cells will only charge up to 3.8 and the 3rd cell with go all the way to 4.2. My imax b6 will say "FULL CHARGE" however it reads 3.8 on two of the cells??? any help?
Just curious, are you performing a balance charge vs. fast or regular charge? A balance charge will ensure all cells are balanced. Also check for the charge time limit to ensure the batter has enough time to charge. Mine usually take around ~45-50 mins. to charge. Have you charged any other batteries successfully?
Yes. I am using regular charge feature. And yes I have charged other zippy lipos and they work fine. Zippys however. ( from what I hear). Have a reputation for cell problems. Thanks so much for the help btw!
Have you tried charging using LiPo balance? One of my zippy's gets out-of-whack every other use. If I don't use LiPo balance charge it stays out of balance. One cell drops about .3 v lower than the other 2. Could be a bad battery, I would not use it on my heli. I have a balance/charge monitor/alarm on my heli, so it would not pass power up. Did you enter your warranty code from the battery in your account page?
To charge these battery packs correct you have to have a charger that lets you either balance charge your cells or lets you pick the amps to charge the cell most packs are a 1 C charge rating example a 2 cell 1000 mah pack is charged a 1.0amps and 400 mah pack would be charged at 0.4amps. many of the chargers that come with planes are only designed to charge the battery that came with that plane and at times I would not even do that as the amps don't match the charge rate
i have had this problem only on two zippy batteries, and that was after they were about 2 years old. Also I have seen an external balancer used after charging that just balances the cells.
I have this same battery and I noticed every once in a while it does the same thing. I use a balance charger so it balances the cells but if it wasn't balanced once, you'll always have the difference in one cell if your charger isn't balancing. So I would check your charger too.
They are XT60, but I made a simple XT60 to Deans adapter by simply soldering the two together and putting heat shrink over the exposed connection. Simple and cheap fix so you can use either or. I have the deans on my ESC so I just use the adapter for my XT60 packs or remove the adapter for my deans packs. The connectors fight tightly together and are easy to solder.
they are xt 60's. i personally prefer deans for they are just great and easy to use, you can just cut these out and put deans on it. I do it for all my batteries.
These are great batteries, and I love the connector!

These are great batteries. I used them with my blade 400. I purchased the xt60 to ec3 connector. They are way better than the stock batteries and half the price.

Bought a couple of these for my Blade 400. They are super performers. I just switched connectors and was good to go. These have a higher mAh rating than the stock e-flight pack, but they seem to perform better, right form the start. Get a couple.
