Can someone confirm or deny once and for all if these are really digital servos? I just uploaded a pic of the box to the files page, and they clearly are labelled "Analog Servo" yet also say "Features: Digital with MOSFET drive"
These don't seem to have the high-pitched buzz/whine I get from my other digital servos, they sound like my other analog servos, which is concerning. I'm sure they will work fine, but if I pay for digital I want to make sure they are.
I finally decided to use the brass cup washers that were in the box. I used epoxy glue to hold them in place so I could then file the underside flush with the servo flange. This made it possible to use M1.6 screws, nuts and washers. See photo: target=_blank>Fit bushes
Just bought this servo, and will run it either way, but is this digital?
The box it comes in clearly says on the large side of the box: DS-929MG Analog Servo
The Features on the small side of the box says: -Digital with MOSFET Drive
Read the reviews, nobody has complained that it is not digital. I think there is an analog version of this servo that is a bit cheaper. Maybe they just got the boxes mixed up, or there is a misprint.
Yes, these servo can be used for the swash plate movement on flybarless systems. Keep in mind to use 3 same servos and programm them as digital 1520us/250hz on your FBL unit.
So are these sacrificial gears available from HK? This gear has real fine pitch teeth and feels quite cheap. I do not believe it will take much to strip them. This is my first Corona and so far with the broken wires inside, I am disappointed. I have 5 more of these on the way.
I have used these loads without any issues, I think you just recieved a bad one which by all means, contact CS with regard to getting a replacement, I have never once had the gears strip on this servo.

I bought one of these and it would not work out of the box. When I took it apart, the red and black wires that go to the potentiometer are disconnected. Also not all of the gears are metal. The lower drive gear is plastic
The color of the outer box has been changed from orange to blue.
New box is shown as follows.
[DS-929MG "Analog Servo"]
This servo is analog ? or digital ??
Indication of "Analog Servo" is wrong?
Good question - I have four of them here that I received a couple of weeks ago. They are in the white and orange box, [DS-929MG "Digital Servo"]. Sounds like you got something different. As far as I know, Corona uses the DS to indicate a digital servo, and CS to designate an analog servo.
HK-450GT PRO V2 kit It seems the M2x6 screws in the kit are too short to hold the servo to the frame. I am trying to use the servo with its rubber grommets to hold the servo onto the heli frame. Should I look for longer screws (10mm long)?
The Rubbers are needed, so you have to look for longer screws or youll make it like me, i put M3 Screws into the holes, it will give you more stability and its easier to handle.
Hi Matthias, I have a problem using the rubber grommets on this servo and the HK450Pro heli kit supplied M2x6 screws. I put the rubbers on the servo mounting holes, put the brass tubes through the rubber but the M2x6 hex screws seem too short to hold onto the heli frame. What am I doing wrong? Should I buy 10mm long screws?
I think this servos are too strong for the HK250.
Put the DS919 on the heli, they are faster and strong enough.ANd you can buy 4pieces of them and put the same on the rear.
due to space constraints i'm considering to fit a 400mah nimh receiver pack into my 1/2a glow plane project (4 of this servo). 400mah capacity enough for at least a day of flying on 6 x 8mins flight?
Due to charging issues (battery will be troublesome to be taken out from plane once installed), i can only use nimh or nicd receiver pack, all sorts of lithium batteries will be out unless they can safely not need balance charging. The 400mah pack size fit best, the max allowance i have is up to 750mah pack which will be heavier and needs modification.
Capacity wise, the 800mah pack should be enough but I would really like to try the 400mah pack. Any advice?
Worse case scenario if you were constantly moving all four servos at once (which is highly unlikely) you could fly for 12 minutes on a 400mah pack. Even being conservative I would try three 8min flights and then see how many mah you put in the pack when you charge. Super conservative I would try two flights but unless your trying to 3d your 1/2a I think three flights for your first run at the field would be fine.
Hello I bought this gyro
I hooked it on the HK 450 PRO and I tried to connect to the corona DS-929MG digital servo
But it did not work for me
Any one of you has an idea that can help me?

tnx.
You didn't write why it doesn't work... Put the gyro on normal, not digital mode. As far as I know the digital mode won't work with some servos. Of course you know you need 2 ch to use gyro and you have to set the sensivity ?
There are several possibilities .. 1. Does a different type of servo behave itself? 2. Any binding in the rudder linkage, does it move freely? 3. Is the plug on the receiver good, does it make a good connection with the servo? That should do for starters.
I don't currently have any other type of servos that I can test. The rudder moves freely without any places that it catches. The servo lead itself has good connection, but I will check the lead extension.
Probably because you have a gyro that can run the tail servo digitally, whereas when connected to the RX for cyclic use, they are run at analog settings.
Appears to be a mis-use of terms by Corona. A computer programmable radio can change the ammount of servo movement and distance it moves from centre. There is no programming inside the servo. The server is called "digital" because of its precise operation.
Thanks Heppy Ket. After reading your response I was compelled to to do some research and learn the actual technical differences between digital and analog servos. Thanks again.
There doesn't seem to be a programmer available. I wonder if they really are programmable.
I have the Hitech programmer and the Hyperion programming card. The Hitech would NOT work on the Hyperion servos but the HK seem very similar to the Hyperion, right down to the complaints about weak cases. I'm just about to receive these servos and I will see if the Hyperion card works, or the Hitech for that matter, and report back.
It's nice to be able to center or get closer to it, the horn in the servo
This servo corona DS -929MG ( digital servo )does not work at 6V. but the Corona 939MG Digital Metal Gear Servo 2.7kg/ 12.5g/ 0.13sec. it is a goog servo for the swashplate heli ( size 450 ).
I I hope I helped you. Have a nice day
Luca
I bought this for my servo "TREX 450". I have no reason to believe that the specified characteristics are false. This does not mean that the 'object that you have seen in another site has different characteristics in another site and works at 4.8 - 6 V
In fact if you look carefully the code from the 'specified object in the photo (hobbyking site) is "C-DS-929MG": ( this does not works at 6V ) and not the crown "CS929MG" (this works at 4,8 / 6V ). I repeat: this does not mean that the 'object that you have seen in another site has different characteristics in another site and works at 4.8 - 6 V
Luca, do You know it from other resource than HobbyKing specs?
When I look carefully then I see corona servo in hobbyking page, and hobbyking servo in corona page and thousands of other spec mistakes on hobbyking store. "C-" is used as Corona becouse DS-929MG is used for Corona rebranded to hobbyking. All Corona servos work up to 6v so why I should believe hobbyking specs that this and only this works at up to 5V.
I think this too: I searched on ebay. But they did not say in the characteristics of the site. then, however, is a risk. the site that you told me I have not found him
I tested one on 6V (used Turnigy MegaBEC). At least, works for ~1 minute "windscreen wipers" mode. Warm, but servos will get cooling in real aircraft...
If you go to the Corona web site there are the full specs on all there servos and this is servo is definatly woks on 6 volts ...I have been using them on 6 volts for months without any problems.
I have been running my 929's at 6v on my 450 on cyclic, and monitoring their temperature at the end of each flight, and they seem fine. Still early days, only about thirty flights at the time of this writing.
The 550e use standard size servo (41x20x37mm) and has around 8kg torque ... so this is way too little for the 550. This servo is perfect for the 450 size helicopters
1520us/250Hz works fine. Tested with GA-250 and this Corona Servo. 1620/333 may work .. 960/333 will not work. Default is 1520/250 that is the one that works normally with most of the Digital Servos
some hitec servo's you can program with a servo programming unit to reverse the direction and add more travel, i was wondering if you could do the same with these?
From the Corona site there is no reference to any device for program their digital servo. So, everything should be done on the TX side. It would have been nice to allow 180deg or 270deg travel ...
What is the pulse cycle of this servo?
And what is the pulse width?
tried working on 20ms = 50Hz and PW of 900-2100 no luck, so if anyone has a suggestion..
Thanks
This is a genuine Corona DS-929MG, and comes nicely packaged in a Corona box with Corona logo.
These are great servos for the money. Definitely well worth it.
Yes, this servo will suit that size of airplane, because it is very strong, metal geared and quite fast. I have used 12 in total on two different airplanes and they all worked fine. One of the airplanes weighs 4lb 11oz and the servos are perfect!
It is a good servo I am worried about a gear sound

Excellent servo's using them on my HK450 Pro have only given 4 Crown rating to quality as only time will tell if they deserve 5 star rating. So far they have proformed really well will be using them again only real complaint they always seem to be out of stock.
