What is the recommended esc for this battery? I'm thinking about using this battery in fms t-28 1400mm.
 TechoArtur 11 points
Battery is 20C so recommended ESC for this Battery is 100A.

Will this work with 150a esc?
 lProAgressive 32 points
it's Constant Discharge is 20c so 5000x20 = 100amper.if you use it with 150amper esc ,battery may be puffy
 firedawg 54 points
Your esc does not mean it will pull 150a from your battery, it can but this is not your concern. What your motor draws at full throttle is what matters. You need a watt meter to check your system. Wouldn't matter if you had a 3000 watt esc, check your motor amps and watts* that will let you know what your battery requirements are, cheers

Very good batery at a very good price. I bought one extra just in case the price is wrong. I have tried many batteries, this is one of the cheapest and the best. You cant beat that combination. i am very pleased with this buy.
TechoArtur  11 points - 4/25/2013

People! Don't buy there! They are thieves! I had paid them, they have cancelled my order and until today I don't have any concrete answer from them. Also I don't have my MONEY!!!
 gitech001 76 points
Are you one of the A$$HOLES buying and reselling them making life suck for everyone else due to persistent "out of stock" at HK? If so, GOOD! F-U!
 TechoArtur 11 points

i have an 1/8 scale and not sure if i should get this or one that has higher c rating.. can someone help?? dont know how to choose.. thanks in advance
 Deadmeat 7 points
I have 8 sets of these batteries and for bashing or messing around on the track they are awesome in a 1/8 buggy or truggy All my cars are running either MMM 2200kv or the trackstar 2650kv system. Get them and you wont be sorry
 roger123 121 points
they not really good for big esc and 1/8 scale run about 120 amps or more in peak current and this pack can only give you 100 amps peak for fews second but if you have enougth place in your 1/8 body , just put them in parallel so you be able to run them in 40c
 Ronn 5 points
I run 4S 20C (different pack) in a 1/8 buggy with Mamba Max and 2200kv motor. It's fine as long as I geared it lightly, e.g. less than 60kph top speed. So, just don't gear it too high and you should be fine.

Why are these cheaper than the equivalent softcase packs? Are they not the same exact cells as used in the softcase pack?

Are the Specs on this battery correct? Can a 20C rate battery really be charged at 5C? Seems way too high to me. I would think 2C would be about max for this battery.
 Ayden 128 points
orginally this battery max c charge rate is 2c, they proberly id a mistake. when i purchased it last year it had 2c. ayden.

can i use this battery with a quadcopter with 1000kv motor
 WickedTRX 140 points
I would say is too big, can you provide the specifications of the ESC's Motors, and propellers? i will give you a definitive answer.
Andrew  25 points - 2/11/2013

Have 16 of theses on my ebike. Have 4 parallels of 4 batteries - about 66.2V charged battery, 58V discharged. Gets me around 80-100 km on one charge at around 45km/h with medium pedaling. Would be nice if there was a big balancing charger, cause right now i have to manually balance and bulk charge later.
 alonso 10 points
puedes utilizar el cargador imax b6 con un multiplicador para cargarlas www.link www.link
 Andrew 25 points
imax b6 max charging current is only 5 amps max. That means 80hr charging time for my battery, don't think so...
 Ronn 5 points
You can get a Turnigy MEGA 400Wx2 and 2 Parallel charging Board for 6 packs. This set up would balance charge up to 12 packs in less than 1.5hrs. Or you could get a HobbyKing 4B6 and 4 Parallel charging Boards and balance charge up to 24 packs at once. The second option would be slower at charging as each 1 of the 4 channels only go up to 50W.
Alexios  1 points - 2/7/2013

does this battery have any disadvantage over a zippy 5000 for examlpe which costs 37$ ?
 Gabriel 7 points
no, turnigy are a better brand than zippy.
 alonso 10 points
la diferencia va en la descarga seguro, por eso la bateria zippy sera mas cara, ten en cuenta que a mayor descarga mas golpe de potencia
Akshat  55 points - 2/5/2013

I don't get it.... is this a b-grade lipo??..the cost is too good to be true..I have brought 2 of these lipo's and the voltage falls to 14.8 after having extracted only 3200mAH from them.....
 H-KING_SCOTT 5161 points
It's not B grade.....and it's a 14.8v pack....hence 14.8v reading? Lipoly's are rated at nominal voltage per cell of 3.70 x 4 = 14.8v, the reading you get straight off a charger (more like 4.2v per cell) won't last long under load.

 Akshat 55 points
Thanks scott,I was worried if these batts are under performing...now I get the problem...the voltage buzzer sounds the alarm when the battery reaches 14.8 ... under load the battery voltage sags to 14.8 but after the load is removed the voltage comes back to 15.3 so I need to set the voltage alarm to sound at 14.5, so that when I check under no load condition the battery is discharged to 14.8 and I get all the amps I have been promised..
 MadBiker 15 points
No, these batteries are very good. I have 2 of these and i use them on my 1/8TT buggy. worth every penny.
 alonso 10 points
pues si,yo tengo cuatro y ningun problema, gran golpe de potencia y gran duracion

Greetings. Can you tell me, if these connectors fit the item below? http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__31
314__Hobbyking_Parallel_charging_Board_for_6_packs_2
_6S_HXT4mm_.html And
will this item ship to Russia?
 GTR 3.0 13 points
Yes, this board should fit perfectly for this battery without the need to change the connectors. I'm not 100% sure if they ship this item to Russia, but why wouldn't they. There should be no problems.

I have two of these in my exceed mad drift and they do great! Has a lot of power
 eric 3 points
I have three of these packs they are awesome. I run them in short course and 1/8 buggies.
K-Note72  64 points - 1/18/2013

Yes for a flying model go for a pack that JUST meets your power needs and has as little weight as possible. This would be too heavy.
 Koo29 230 points
This is actually a bit lighter than Turnigy 5000mah 4s LiPo. Don't know how, but it really is. And if you crash, you know that your plane won't be in fire. I use this in my skywalker 168 and it works perfectly.
CHAUVEL  1 points - 1/10/2013

Hi If I want to connect this battery with 4 mm bullet connector to an ESC with DEAN plug, wich adaptor can I take into your website ? Thanks
 CNC mill 65 points
Hi, you can use this article: HXT 4mm to T-Connector Battery Adapter (2pcs/bag) . ID product 015000015 Remember T-connector=deans=tamiya plug *) I hope to be helpful, have a good day!
stuartsomers  4 points - 12/29/2012

Has anyone removed the case and weighed the pack? Photos would be great too.
 eric 3 points
if you remove the case you will need to rewrap them with a thick battery shrink wrap. Or the foil around the packs will wear and start tearing.
 Daniel 1 points
Without pack and new heatshrink I measured 500g total.

I have received 2 packs today. Voltages are fine - 3.86V and both packs balanced. One pack has a poor glue job on plastic casing which opened really easy so I got to see whats inside. Cells look fine so I gues it is really just a bad glue job. I will close it with my own glue and use it that way. I hope that will be no trouble. If you think I am in danger please reply to this review! Oh, yes - ordered 2 more packs.

That's very effective price per capacity LiPo battery. It's a good enough condition.
