I purchased my Mirage 4000 from the HobbyKing Caringbah NSW store.
The model assembles quickly and comes with all the hardware installed and more than enough 5 minute epoxy to do the job. All you have to do is glue on the wings and the vertical stabiliser, install the rx and set the C of G. I had to cut some foam away to get a Turnigy 4S 2200mAh 40C battery to fit into the fuselage. The box the Mirage 4000 came in was branded C & G Hobby and the the instruction manual was branded FMS.
The instructions are very easy to follow. This Mirage 4000 flies very well but not quite as fast as I would have expected. Maybe a 5S pack might be better.

Okay, an update. I have decided to just remove the landing gear and just belly land it on grass. Having removed the landing gear, the plane is a little tail heavy, but it's only noticeable when power off gliding. I've added a little weight to the front, but it's not enough. BUT, on any amount of throttle, the plane just flies BRILLIANTLY. I am so happy with this plane. it is my new favourite. It is so fast! It is so manouverable! I just love it. It hand launches extremely easily, has plenty of power, it glides very well. It's very stable in the air it looks great etc. The stock motor and fan is almost powerful enough for a 1:1 power to weight ratio (not quite, but close) with the landing gear taken off. I plan on installing an interesting looking 4 blade fan and turnigy 3200kv motor from the HK site soon, so hopefully that should make it go even faster. Not that it needs it, it's quite content to just putt putt around on half throttle.
Yes, it really is a great plane, and I highly recommend it (so long as you just remove the landing gear, which is still just rubbish).
This is my new favourite plane, and I love flying it around, acrobatics is no problem with this plane, it's just brilliant!

I live in NewZealand, I brought on of these jets about a month and that said a half back. I recieved it last week and was happy with what I found the kit is very well made and it flys very well, it's quite agile and is fast if you dump the weak hobby king 50 amp esc (electronic speed controler) for novices looking.. and buy a 25-30 cell high output lipo to go with it. now with a good quality trans and reciever your on track to have an excellent flight! This bird is totaly worth buying at the current price.. I would suggest spending time to set the retracts by hand as the factory settings are base at best. also highly recomend spending time glueing the wings etc with a good r/c epoxie and not the ultra fast setting glue the kit comes with. Though the kits glue does appear to be quite good, but for the fact that it sets in seconds literally, so unless you are supremely confident in you abilities to complete a kit accuratly with this glue, then I would otherwise highly advise against it. take your time and it will come together nicly and the end result will be Orsome! The only other down side of this plane is the decals they look rushed and are creased in most places, that didn't really bother me as I don't like the frenchie banner anyhow's, and have removed them and painted it war bird grey.. much nicer now! and have even put the kiwi emblem on the tail section. am now offici
Once again i will give a 2 star till hobbyking stop deleting the true reviews from customers

Guys, have found what I believe could be the source of the fan vibration at mid rpm. When I wobbled the fan end of the unit sideways I could feel a definite movement that I think is excessive for a hi speed motor. I dismantled the unit and found the front and rear bearings are loose in the housing, but a good fit on the shaft. I will lubricate the bearings as others recommend and re-assemble the unit using bearing lock(green Loctite) on the outside of the bearings to fix them in the housing. I will report my findings when I have tested my fix.
