This one is slightly larger than the other one and since motors are usually a perfect fit in cars, I would say no. This motor will not work. I would buy the one that the truck had as a stock setup.
Hobbyking is delaying my shipment due too their verification process for visa debit cards. I have ordered two of these motors along with two 18A track star esc's for my mini recons. I think it's a direct fit for hpi mini recon due to its 370 size. If not please state so.
oh.... the origin can length for the stock motor on a recon is 35mm abouts.... This is 45mm :( Now what??? should i make alterations :( The radio is mounted right behind the motor leaving room for 50mm till the motor mount... i think this motor can fit with alterations of the base plate of the truck, which is the only hinderance in the way.... i cant cancel the order... im still being verified... i am already tired of gathering the Bank documents from my father and e-mailing them.
It's a slower motor than the stock motor, but it has quiet a bit more torque than the stock motor. To get the stock 15T pinions to fit, you have to take a 3mm drill bit and enlarge pinion hole. Using it on my Monster Beetle on short grass, and the difference between the stock motor and this one is noticeable in terms of "getting up to speed". Make sure your diffs are properly shimmed because it WILL wear them out faster due to the higher torque if it's not done properly...
Yes, it fits fine. Use one of the pinions for the "2wd desert buggy" with this motor. Setup a friends Monster Beetle with this motor and the 21t pinion. Use a heatsink if your going to run the 21t pinion and a 3S battery.
can I use this with a losi mini desert truck? 3s? 2s? better than a 4500kv losi brushless motor? thx http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/images/em_c ool.gif
i have the same truck 3s would not fit,so check your measurements for the right size 2s, the 2s with this motor would be fine if you want to save money.
there is no simply way to work out torque, but the basic rule of thumb is lower the kv the more torque but less top speed and the higher the kv the less torque but more top speed
to find out the amp your motor pulls your need to buy a wattmeter. hobby king sell a few different ones but the best one and cheapest one is the Turnigy 130A Watt Meter and Power Analyzer. and it also comes in handy for checking how much voltage is left in your batterys when your out
If you plane to use it in car then use Turnigy TrackStar 18A 1/18th Scale Brushless Car www.link or for heli/plane you may use Hobbyking SS Series 18-20A ESC www.link
I'm no expert for boats but suppose that u can use same as for car, maybe I'm wrong but think that there is no need for water cooling for such low current...
To give you an answer to your question you need to post a link to the esc that your saking about. But this motor is to small for a stampede. A 36mm inrunner is a muc better choice.
Shaft is 3mm as stated in the specs. Works great in my NQD Tear Into jet boat with Turnigy 3S 2200 40C, Turnigy 35A Marine ESC, and water cooling jacket on the motor.
Suprise with this motor only 130 can size can generate 350 W. Now i'm modify to adopt to 30 cm deep V china boat , Hope it make me suprise again
