Prop Speed: 1600 ~ 12000rpm Max power: 2.7hp/1.98kw Suggested prop: 16x8, 17x8, 17x10 Ignition: DC-CD (6v only) Mixture: 25:1 to 40:1 Bore/Stroke: 34x28mm Size: 130mm high / 120mm wide* Mount hole: 64mm x 64mm

Note. All motors are tested, tuned and broken in for 7 minutes at the factory and will smell like gasoline when you receive it. This is normal. We stock all parts for this engine.
Hello,
After cleaning out the crud on the carb gasket, the engine will only run for a couple of seconds and then it quits. Any ideas on what to do (short of tossing the engine?)
Will replacing the bearing with a new sealed bearing help?
Thanks
After cleaning off all the crud near the carb, I still cannot get it to run. It starts, runs for about a couple of seconds and stops. Any idea what the issue could be?
Thanks
Turnigy 30cc
Purchase this engine early Feburary 2013. Had experience just like others, would NOT run, just acouple of pops. The problemn with my engine was the coiled spring that was installed in the spark plug cap was too small and not providing ground path between the engine and the ignition module. Expanding one end of spring as to make solid contact with the plug cap and then making the opposite end smaller to force contact with the sparkplug metal body when the cap is position onto the sparkplug, corrected the start issue with my engine, Second run could hand start. Engine turn 16x6 at 8500 RPM. Installed in Superkraft Monocoupe, not yet ready for flight.
AFTER READING all THE BAD THINGS ON THIS 30C I then looked at the dates of most of them,SOOOOO do you all think they mave have fixed all the things on this little guy or not by know?Cuz I really like theis engine 30 cc is just thje right size will what to see if anyone answer before I pull the trigger btw- I want to put this into a Lg scale CUB from here!!!!Thanks All
Yes they did. i just got one in a couple of weeks ago and put it on a kit built SIG 1/4 scale clipped wing cub. it has FANTASTIC power. i can hover it with this motor. i have about 2 gallons run trough it and havent had no problems yet :) you wont regret getting this motor
no its not and i heard the pro had or has a vibration problem so its your call but lote of engine parts are used on other engine so you may get these parts from the pro ,its your caLL

I will never buy another gas engine from Hobby King again.
The problems I've found (so far) with the turnigy 30cc:
1) Paint in spark plug threads engine obviously never run and I had to run a tap through there to allow the spark plug to be threaded in.
2) Bad tapping on one engine mount hole had to tap that out too.
3) blobs of sealant everywhere.
4) Jammed piston ring had lousy compression, carefully filed tight spot back open.
5) All 3 bearings are of the non-sealed type diaphragm pump did not work and I can't start the engine. I will be buying new sealed front bearing from Boca. Size: 12mmID, 28mmOD
6) Muffler screw spacing incorrect had to oversize drill them.
I've only gotten a canned response from HK customer service in response to my pleas for help/parts.
So yeah, from what I've heard the lack of a front seal and the muffler screw spacing is a common problem (personally I think they all have this problem considering the number of complaints I've seen). Regard this as an incomplete engine kit which you will have to disassemble before you reassemble. As long as you have the right tools and are comfortable working on gas engines then it's still a good price ... or you could buy a DLE and avoid the hassle. As for me, I will restrict my future HK purchases to lipo batteries only.

was hard to start had to use ele. starter all the time. will not flip start at all. must be no front seal like other peoples motors. found out where to order front bearing and seal at boca bearings.com. now why did i rate it so high. first hard to start but runs great idles high. put this in an altimate biplane 120. flys plane great motor has never died ever after setting carb. runs great at all RPMs. high idle lands on the money on my biplane. great price, runs great. later on ill put front seal in and should start good. was not to happy at first but im happy now after flying it. is a great buy but will need a little work.

I am very sorry I purchased this engine .. we were unable to even make it oump fuel into the carberator.. Even with a prime it would run for a second and stall.. This engine was purchased from the US warehouse because we wanted to fly this plane.. 2 months later I still have no engine and now I get this message that I am waiting for factory inspection.. I give UP.. I guess I have to call Pay-Pay and see if they can help.. Needless to say I still have not been able to fly my plane.. Im very sorry I purchased this engine and now I feel like I may be luckey to ever get one! ( DONT BUY ONE ) the paint even came off the cylendar when I primed it to try and start.. It is not even hi temp paint.. BIG BUMMER..

This engine was a disaster from the start. Low compression made it very hard to start 100's of flips later it started but would die after 2 min. running and would not restart ( no compression) Come back a hour later after it cooled it would start and run for a short time. Trouble shooting, i found the front bearings were froze ( was hard to turn even without the spark plug actualyt had a squeek from the bad bearing, also, the rear bearing felt like it had sand in it. Checked the ring gap it was .030 inch , should have been .002 max , Very poor QC ( cause of poor compression). I'm now rebuilding my new 30 cc engine , never flown with new bearings and a ring made my someone that knows how. Also, there was no smell of petrol ( this engine never ran at the factory) .Also, the carb was not a walbro as advertised. I have spent days working on a new engine, not happy. I can't return it now because it's all apart and I don't want to pay postage to china ( bought from USA warehouse!!)
