Yak 54 1.5m Monster 3D Kit only V2 EPO (USA Warehouse)
The YAK54 required a large 37 series outrunner and 60A ESC. With a wingspan of 1.5M and an area of 43dm2, its a huge 3D Foamie that is sure to impress! The YAK54 includes many quality details such as panel lines and rivets, cockpit & pilot, a twin servo (NOT INCLUDED) controlled elevator (just like giant scale), big scale servos (NOT INCLUDED) for each aileron and a big powerful prop hanging outrunner(NOT INCLUDED). The main wing includes a large carbon spar, and bolts together tightly while being easy to remove for transportation. The tail slots together in 3 pieces with two bolts and epoxy for a much needed extra strong hold. The cowl and engine detail are moulded in foam (no ice-cream container cowl here). You have never seen a foamie model of this size and detail before. Its HUGE! You will need a 3300mAh 4S pack to fly this model well.
Does any one know what motors to get. The 3740 Brushless outrunner 700kv or the 3720 Brushless outrunner 800kv
is not listed anywhere. How does one figure out a replacement?
Hello, the weight of the model is shown in Flying weight: 2400g. It refers to the model structure including flight battery motor controller ect.? How much weight the kit only? thanks
Would the Turnigy G60 Brushless Outrunner 500kv motor, Turnigy Super Brain 80A Brushless ESC, and Turnigy Digital high torque bearing servo 16.2g/3.1kg/.16sec be a good combination for this plane to get very good 3D and stay cool?
jason you seem pretty clued up with this model can you please tell me where you think the cog is? as per the manual...(328mm - 335mm) as in a couple off reviews i have heard 290mm ....
There are no wheel pants on it in the pictures so I'm not sure it even comes with them. If it did you would not need a knife, usually removing the wheel and a couple screws does the trick.

I used a rimfire .32 and Castle Phoenix ICE 75 and a 3700 5S battery in mine and it ROCKS. You'll need to add more magnets to attach the canopy, and might want to replace the landing gear because it's a bit soft but other than this this bird is awesome in every way.

Out of the box, this is a great package. I bought the ARF version and it is a dream to fly. I will say that the nose was very light so I added lead weights, one might consider a 4000mah 4 cell for added weight and run time. The landing gear holds up fine with some gorilla glue filled in the spaces between the plywood. I switched to a 13x6.5 APC prop for added flight times & lower amp draws, only slightly slower top speed. This is a head turner!!

Hello, I bought the arf version due to other reviews saying the kit version el#ctronics sucked. I bought a 650 kv motor from here and 60amp speed controller. Im running a 5cell 3300 mah turnigy and just fits. Its turning a 12x8 wood prop. Cg's are perfect. Front is a little heavy but good . Pulled a couple clicks up on elevator and leveledout perfectly. You never want tail heavy or say byby...
. some people are saying to add magnets to the canapy but u dont. There is holes on the fuselog on the rear which I just drilled canapy and glued in some nuts with washers and used some screws garenteeing the canapy wont fly off... it actually looks like the mfg was going to add them to the design but didnt.
This is one ffaaaassssttt plane. Flys straight and smooth... On the madein flight I was only using a 40 amp esc and yhis thing climped vertical with nothing stopping it. I did put in the 60 esc once it arrived due to back order. the plane is all done now and looks beautiful! Very light all around. With battery total is 6.5lbs. I definately recommend this plane! This would be my 5th plane and hoppy king makes it very afordable with the cheap batterys. The 5c 3300 is only like $35 so make sure you buy at least 2.
I also just bought a 50cc pilot rc sbach 29 so im probably wont Fly this much but you never know! I live in connecticut so if some one want to purchase the plane alrea

Got the plane about two moths after the due date. Very impressive right out of the box. And although its hughe it goes together quite simply. Mine came with earth magnetic holding the Battery bay in place and the nose cowl. Neither of those bay cover will budge.
Powerset: Turnigy aerodrive is nails! turns 14x7 prop used APC props fit nails on motor used spinner that came with motor looks great. HK 60ampesc and HK ubec
Battery: Turnigy 3300 3s bit tail heavy will purchase 4000 3s
Flys terrific about to mix in some A-R for pattern flying
This is a great flying plane, it stalls well, and looks super in the air, super flyer and worth the cost. I have reduced the rating two stars because whoever is working at the plant does not give a good god darn about their job. The canopy was covered in overspray and yellow fingerprints (alchol scrubs it off, but it takes off ALL the paint, be careful). The red on the turtledeck is BOTH cracked and bubbling. The plane was COVERED in BLACK FINGERPRINTS which I had to use alchol to get off. With some decent quality control it's a 5 star plane no doubt...fire your quality control supervisor and I think you'll sell more of these.
