Are these batteries supposed to arrive all puffed up? Is this a defective battery? Feels almost pressurized. Ordered a number of different batteries (including Turnigys) and all the others are nice and flat. This one doesn't even want to squeeze into my Grasshopper 1400 plane. Please advise?

Update: Got a hold of a Lipo checker and this one reads: "Err", so am returning it. Will post customer service outcome when the time comes. At least all the other batteries in that shipment arrived OK. Cheers!

Still have heard nothing back regarding a replacement battery???
 Robert 24 points
While still waiting to see if HK makes good on the dead battery, I have begun purchasing from other companies. I simply cannot in good conscience reward HK for selling me a defective/dead battery. If and when they decide to replace it or refund my money, only then will I consider resuming purchasing planes from HK.

Never heard from nor received a replacement for this DOA battery you sent me. Hobby King, enjoy your approximate $18 windfall. You can check and see, I have not been purchasing since then. I sent it back as told and no replacement was ever sent. Too bad, because there are easily over $2,000 worth of planes I had planned on buying from you, but I choose not to. As I have said, I will not reward anyone who rips me off, even for only $18. It is the principle of this which irks me. I am finally joining a club this year and will be sharing this experience. You STILL owe me a good battery or my money back. Guess i could call the BBB, for what that's worth. VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER.

hello-i have 2 of these batteries for my 70mm edf jet. this is the exact specs as the suggested factory battery i declined to get, anyways, the motor is 3000kv with a 45amp esc, this battery swells, not the cells, but the wraping because when it cools, it is "spongy" should i be using a higher "C" rating to help prevent the swelling and heat of this battery?

I also have a 70mm edf with simliar motor and esc. I tried a 20c battery and it puffed up. Those jets require a min of 30c discharge rate to prevent damage to the battery pack. I would recommend a 40c just for peace of mind for only a few bucks more.

Good for you tobuy one of Volt-Amp Wat Meters so you can actually see the draw. You arerobably over amping you speed control as well. 20c//2200mh= 44 Amps. You could divide the stated Watt performance of your set up (Volts X Amps = Watts therefore Watts /Volts = the Amp draw.

You should use a higher C rating. Batteries like this swell when they get overloaded

With EDF jets you should start with a 40C rating or higher due to the higher amp draw because of the inherent high RPM of EDF assemblies

Great battery for the price, no one can beat the price of Hobby King. As usual, get them while they are in stock with batteries. Well balanced when they got here and holds up very well to my abuse. Thanks you HobbyKing!

I've had 100 success with this model and all the other model Turnigy batteries I have ordered from HK. Have at least 40-50 cycles on many of them and they are still going strong as day 1. I always balance charge on IMAX/4 and use these batteries in EDF jets with near full power and many surges to full power. In the correct setup, they stay cool, and run for consistent time duration.

Just received battery today in great condition. remember to check the dean connectors. make sure you have female to male. Battery comes with female connector. check that ESC has male connector, other wise you got some soldering to do.
