Hi,
anybody knows if the shaft can be reversed on this motor?
(shaft outing from wires side as for most outrunners)
 Lee Bonney 33 points
I've done shaft reversals on three Turnigy motors,
450, 500, & 600 size.

Because of the flat in the original shaft it's often not practical to just reverse it because obviously prop adaptors wont work if the shaft has a flat. The notched original shaft may seem reversible, but one needs to be cautious of fatigue cracks propogating. With a 600 class motor a cracked shaft could be highly dangerous!

The better approach is to go visit a plastic mould shop, & ask for ejector pins, these are ha

Please can you tell me the actual resistance of this motor, funny enough I'm not convinced by the stated value of zero... thanks very much indeed!

Do you think this will run ok with 3s batteries?
 igorp 24 points
Depending on what you are looking to power. I run a 4s on the hobbyking 1800mm Super Cub, 3s might spin it to slowly, about 6000rpm.
 Elektroquirl++ 264 points
sure. you can use a prop size up to 16x8. this will give you about 1.5kg static thrust, 5000rpm and 30amps. flying speed around 30mph. but there are better choices.
 elchan 43 points
I'm contemplating building a quadcopter using four of these puppies. Lifting power will be awesome.

Hey does anyone if this motor can work one my balsa usa stick .40 thanks
 igorp 24 points
Should work as long as you can mount it, power wise it should handle it with 4s or 5s depending on prop choice. I run it on my 6ft Cub.

i am running a 4c 2650 30 battery with a 80 amp esc. Is this a good starting place 14x10 prop? thanks very much.
 igorp 24 points
Yes, make sure to provide adequate ventilation to the motor as it will get hot with that setup.
 EVANDRO LUIZ 6 points
Yeah, very good.

what size prop for a 5.5 lbs plane
 igorp 24 points
Depends how many cells you run. I run this motor on a 4s 14x10 to fly my 1870mm super cub.

i have a seagulls pc-9 plane, and want to electrify it. i want to use a 4 cell 5000mah battery and 60amp esc, will this engine do OK? or is it not powerful enough?

Wat is the Flightwight of your Plan ?
 Bongose 80 points
Flying weight is around 5kg, correct? It could work but it's a little on the low side. look for a motor that could give you 1000W if I was you.

I'am useing this moto in place of an .040 size is great, power is awsome .
 Sylvain 124 points
Hi, I have used this motor in a small 1.7 kg biplane on 6s battery. I can tell you that for your PC9 (I guess the .46 version) this won't be enough -especially on 4S- even with a 'scale' flying style. If you are looking something 'on budget' then, the NTM prop Drive 42 series would be a better fit (the 750kv on 4S with 12x8 or better the 500 kv with same prop).

Anthony, will you be selling the AE3720-01A as well? (I suppose called Turnigy L3020A-850) I hope so!!!
 Happychinese 2 points
850kV instead of 600kV would potentially give a good chance to use smaller props.
 dolphin-58 3 points
Because you want to use a smaller propeller? The propellers make small diameter less than those of larger diameter. Normally using small propellers with big pitch on hi-speed models. On normal models fits the propeller largest checking with the wattmeter not exceed the parameters of the motor

filling a huge gap with this motor HK! Hope it is a winner. I ordered two!
 Joel 2 points
plz someone post some power chart
 Bengaleer 12 points
100 watts per pound of weight is good for trainers and some "light" aerobatics.

150 watts per pound is good for all aerobatics to "light" 3-D flying.

200 watts per pound is pretty much unlimited power.

You can set up your planes for the way you fly.

Motor has been powering my 1870mm Super Cub, swinging 14x10 prop on 4s. Does a good job, gets warm, but acceptable. The xmount is garbage, it disintegrated! Good thing I found it before flight as the motor would have flown right of the plane! (Prop is correctly balanced)

I fitted this motor to my Sky Star I.C. 40 trainer. Running on 5cell 5000ma hr 11x7 prop draws 30 amps. Plenty of power for 60inch wingspan model. motor only rated for 4 cell but to improve motor strength I epoxied magnet gaps so no chance of loose magnets. I have power to spare so will try a larger prop untill I reach the maxpower of 800watts. This is a good low cost motor.

I'm running this motor in a 3 meter glider - total weight is abt. 2000 g. Using 4S LiPo and a 15 x 8 folding prop this set produces really awesome climbs for an unbeatable price. I can highly recommend this motor. http://vimeo.com/34297237
