 sharkey9 798 points

Can this motor be used in a RC car? Size of current is 540.
 swens 10 points
Hi, if the cooling and performance data are consistent with the requirements of yor car - why not. But the motor is sensorless.
 luZer 18 points
You can use it, but you have to check out the information (Max Ampere, Voltage, and so on) and it is an outrunner and for rc cars you should use a inrunner, because it need not so much cooling than the other one. I use a sensorless motor too, but for fun racing it doesn´t matter.
 Jonathan 1 points
I wouldn't take an outrunner in my car!!! There is too much rotation!!! Buy an inline... Its more safe...

hello, which dimension has the shaft of the Turnigy 450 H2218 Brushless outrunner 3550KV motor? and where are the right pinions (13t)?
 mabaa 120 points
The Shaft diameter is 3.17mm. Take a 12T, and 13T for more power, buttake a ESC not under 40 amp.
 Benjamin 1 points
max 39 ampp for short time have the outrunner

Hey there, I bought a HK 450. It seems as if I have to buy the pinion seperatly. My question: What fits best, 12T or 13T? Hope someone can help me...
 kdawgdinner 263 points
12t is better
 wifly 50 points
13t is best
 RicoGr 6 points
HAHAHA, thanks to you both. But two people, two answers doesn't help too much, hahaha. Do you have further comments, why you think so?
 prateek 66 points

for this motor try 12 tooth. it wont overload
 RicoGr 6 points
Ok, thanks to all. I will do it with 12 tooth. Should be the 3mm, right?
 Spaceman_a 112 points
belongs on what headspeed you want to fly? i would use the 13T
 Eav Chross 8 points
I use 12, and it works well!
 Thomas 33 points
Depends on your skill level - 3D =13t normal=12t! See the align 450 se original manual!
 everytec 13 points
I have the 450 PRO with that motor. I have a 13T pinion and get a real powered heli. My cheap 450 is going to get a 11T Pinion for normal sports flying.
 lubos1954 55 points
buy both of them 12-13 T and try them to see whitch one is better
 MaxBlack88 1 points
if you use 12T you got max. 2800Upm at the Head and with 13T you got max. 3000Upm.

Could anyone please suggest what timing is best with "TURNIGY Plush 40amp Speed Controller"? I've no measuring equipment and couldn't find any difference between low, medium or high.
 E-Scorpion 6 points
Hallo RaceTiger
I bought this motor an I took a TURNIGY Plush 30amp Speed Controller from hobbyking. It works very good at my T-rex 450
I hope I could help you
 MaxBlack88 1 points
Hallo use low. Medium or high is only needed if your motor dont work fine.
 Cengiz 5 points
low means also, longer fly time because higher energy efficency. (less heath for esc and motor) always try to use as low as possible.
 Cengiz 5 points
i mean heat

1 thumbs up!
