can any one help me out with calculating how long a flight i get with (x) battery and (Y) number of lights etc

At most you might end up with about 30seconds less flight time. Unless you want to light up the sky like the sun.

I can't seem to get the led's to light up when I cut off a 3-LED strip. The whole strand (1 meter) lights up just fine though. Any suggestions??? I am soldering to the tiny little circles near the scissor cut marks.

PS. this is ONLY when I remove the waterproof covering. The second the covering comes off of one of the LED's, the whole set of 3 stops working.... No idea why. I thought I could remove the covering to save weight and mount the led's easier with the lights *towards the foam*

when you removed the covering you must have broken a contact in the string and is the reason it is no longer working. This unit sounds like it is wired in series and with the contact broken all led's in the section will not work.

That's exactly what's going on, thanks. Turns out removing the covering destroys the LED's periodically, breaking the circuit of 3 in series.

I can now see tiny little plastic LED "lenses" periodically coming off with the covering, thereby ruining the LEDs.

Are these anywhere near as bright and intense as the non water resistant strips. could someone please tell me some measurements (e.g. ? lumens)

i found them to be a little bit dimmer from the other ones only coz the water profing bends the light diffrently to none water resistant ones but are still great

I be this serves it purpose for being water resistant but it doesn't light up as much as the other version that are not water resistant. The quality of the product is excellent though. If you have the need to put it on a RC boat, this would be the correct way to go. 4 Stars because of the lack of illumination.

Excelente producto! Brillan poco con Li-Pos de 2 celdas…pero con 3 celdas se obtiene un efecto INCREIBLE, son muy brillantes! Ojo aquí… los LEDs a prueba de agua vienen con una protección (clara y flexible) que agrega peso en aviones eléctricos, esta opción es innecesaria a menos que se deseen instalar en aviones de nitro o gasolina. Para aviones pequeños (eléctricos) recomiendo usar el tipo de LEDs que no es aprueba de humedad: además, tengo entendido que se pueden cortar y re-soldar para hacer cambios de dirección, esto no se puede hacer con los LEDs a prueba de humedad, a menos que se corte la protección haciéndolos permeables :-(
