Do you have this spur gear in metal?
 Bugsmasher 72 points
There's a guy on the Hobbyking forum that sells machined metal spur gears. Look up user name Sour41.
 cpstrommen 18 points
No, hobbyking does not sell a metal replacement spur gear. I wish they did!
 Bugsmasher 72 points
I bought a nice one off Sour41.
 tramsgar 235 points
You would also need a steel pinion gear to go with that.
 Lukezam 11 points
hobbyking forum does not let me private message sour41, what can i do? i really need the part
prem  13 points - 2/19/2013

no the spur gear is different it wont suit
 vicenzo 2 points
But do u know if exists? I bought the Rally Extreme to do real rally but the sand is damaging this spur gear, I wold like to install an metal part
Dennis  4 points - 2/16/2013

is this the same as the mini inferno mp9 steel spur gear 46T (IF410-46)
 Rexy03 1055 points
no it wont work in the hobbyking cars
 Rexy03 1055 points
i would like to get my hands on one though to see what I could do to make it fit
Piotr  1 points - 2/14/2013

what is bore size and Outside diameter?
 Rexy03 1055 points
the bore = 4.1mm the OD = 30.8mm
Ebiker  160 points - 1/5/2013

Thabnks!
Ebiker  160 points - 1/5/2013

I'd like to see this part in some strong material as an option. These aren't expensive but got to pull half the car apart to get to it. And all it takes is one grain of sand to damage it and it happens too often. I'd rather be changing pinions than the spur.
 Rexy03 1055 points
If you search for " sour41 " you will find steel gears plus other parts but they seem to be hard to get
 Rexy03 1055 points
look for " Sour41 HobbyKing Forums - 1/16 Monster Beatle "
Billy  5 points - 1/3/2013

Do you have dis part in aluminio
 Rexy03 1055 points
only available in Nylon
Rexy03  1055 points - 1/1/2013

Spur gear wears out quickly if the gear mesh is loose, check the mesh between the gears often and adjust to keep them close but smooth running, on the monster beetle this gear gets damaged if brakes are applied on a hard surface like asphalt, keep a spare gear on hand.
 HENRY 22 points
hello and yes due always check the gear mesh as the motor and motor mount screws due seem to come loose and you can try to put a drop of blue lock tight on the screws and also always check the asjustment on the slipper clutch as i have over tightened the screws and that will make the slipper clutch to tight to not work and to set the slipper clutch screws i always snug the screws down evenly and then back off the screws about a 1/4 turn and then with the truck on the ground i apply pressure on the car and then try to move the spure gear if it wont then back off the screws a little each one or if it rolles to easy then tighten the screws a little as you should have some roll ristence well hope this helps

I'd say every month or so, give or take.

I bought a machined metal one off a guy on the HobbyKing forums for $10.
 Gonzalo 2 points
thanks for your reply but where I get the nylon or $ 10????
 nelsonp 23 points
the part number is 33324 spur gear
 Bugsmasher 72 points
Do a search in the HobbyKing forums for user name Sour41 He makes and sells metal gears for it.
 tramsgar 235 points
33324 has its holes drilled a mm too far apart. If you're spending that kind of money, check with sour41 instead.

What is the pitch of this gear? Will credit.
 joshuav 78 points
Is it 0.5 mod or 48p? (I think it's 0.5 mod, but I'm not sure.) And if it is 0.5 mod, can I use it in combination with gear #E3.17-0.5-17T in the Turnigy 1/16 Racing Buggy? I stripped the spur gear and need a new one. I also need a different pinion, because my motor shaft is 3.17mm (that's why I need a pinion something like #E3.17-0.5-17T).
Helimike1976  72 points - 10/16/2012

what it the tooth pitch for this is it the 48 pitch, need to get a pinion that will fit a 3.17 shaft.

Hi, what is the meaning of these numbers 110BS, A2029 and A2035 in the sput gears,
Thanks
 sh4erb 63 points
these are HK model codes. For example 110BS is Monster Beatle model code.
 msbzzbmb 12 points
They are the model numbers of the cars it is compatible with. Eg 110bs is the Monster Beatle. Hope that helps :-)

I have this buggy and this is the weakest part, I bought 10 pieces in my last purchase. The replacement is easy to be made
 HENRY 22 points
hello and yes it will fit the 1/16 buggy and as i have found out for my self be sure to tighten both screws the same and when you get them snug back them off about 1/4 turn out and reinstall then when all in put on ground and bottom out the truck with presure and try to turn the spure gear as it should turn with youre thumb with some resentice if you cant loosen up the screws or if you can turn it easy then tighten the screws some hope this helps

 mattm 22 points
In general removing small broken screws is best done by drilling the screw out. Use a drill bit smaller than the screw, so if the screw is 2.5 mm use a 1.8 mm drill bit, or 2.0 mm drill bit if the screw's thread is very fine. Put the drill bit in the screw's head and drill through the screw. After drilling all the way through use needle nose pliers to crush and remove the remains of the screw. There is also a tool called a "screw extractor". Search for this on google or youtube.

Cut a slot with a small cutting blade and use a flat blade screwdriver to un-screw it.

How to open this? I just open until the rear gearbox opened. I dont know what to do next...
 sour41 126 points
Loosen Outdrive, and remove with Slipper
 biggfol 29 points
You need to removed the screws from the top brace, front and rear and then you can bend the diff back and remove it that way or take the screws out from under the chassis and take the whole diff out.

Anybody found any metal spurs as replacement yet?
 Bisht 10 points
Dont use Metal, if anything metal stuck between your motor and Spur Gear then it will disturb your motor or Spur Gear aligenment. So Plastic is good and cheap, only replacement is the only problem.
 vini_itu 12 points
No, but the plastic is good and has an affordable price. (Credit the message)
 sour41 126 points
I used the metal gear, this leads to the death of Rear Differential
 shoaib 4 points
suggestion, not to use metal spur gear. if small sand particles mesh between pinion nd spur so 1 think must b broke, which is weak either spur or pinion
 Pawel 8 points
Where can i buy metal spur gear? Diferential can be upgreaded with hard steel gears from mini inferno st at gpmparts com.
John  9 points - 7/21/2011

Could you get an aliminum replacement of this?

John
 Duane 2 points
I haven't seen an aluminum replacement. A plastic spur gear is a cheap, easily replaceable weak link. If you strengthen it, you may start breaking other components of the drive line.
 Merlin.swe 20 points
You would wear the gears out if they both been made of metal. They would have to be built in a gearbox with some sort of lubrication.
 ezarc 138 points
You cant get any that I know of yet but it would be a good idea, they have a adjustable slipper clutch in the cars anyway so if you back that off you cant damage the diffs, it will just slip under too much power. But try and make a plastic spur/pinion gaurd to stop dirt and sand getting in there.
 random1265 8 points
Yes you Cus but it would reck up the diffs. It would also shred quick also make a lot of shreiks and noise
 scoobyblue 3 points
i have found that alloy in this buggy is not a flash idea. you strip spur like tiolet papper and the brass pinion gear will not hold up to the friction and you be left with a pretty glod brass line upinside you bodyu lol
 vini_itu 12 points
Not yet Aegisthus replacement for aluminum
 mattm 22 points
The spur gear lasts much longer if you correctly set the mesh between the pinion and spur gears. To do this, cut a small strip of paper and place it between the two gears with the motor's adjustment screw loosened. Press the pinion gear into the spur gear and tighten the adjustment screw, while holindg the two gears together. Rotate the spur to remove the paper strip, and you will have an excellent meshing between the two gears. I have 20 or more packs through my A2003T buggy and I am still using the same spur gear the car came with. I drive on asphalt, rocky terrain, and gritty horrible concrete dust with rocks in it.
 tramsgar 235 points
Where's the adjustment screw? I just find four screws holding it into place.
red25  117 points - 6/27/2011

will this fit any 1/16 scale rc? my chassis is a hsp but powered by HK.
 Bandit 87 points
You have to check the height between engine in relation to the chassis, because the HK 1 / 16 model the chassis has an opening and the gear is fitted in this opening.

Você tem que verificar a altura em que esta montado o motor em relação ao chassi, pois no modelo 1/16 da HK o chassi tem uma abertura e a engrenagem fica encaixado nesta abertura.
 vini_itu 12 points
Perhaps a friend, you must measure the space to see if it fits or not. good luck
YunGuLee  141 points - 5/28/2011

I tried to replace it, but all of my Hex Screwdriver were rounded.
Is it normal? It is so fasten.
 hansenroy 30 points
try to use a new hex screwdriver one,and use wd40 first let it work for 5min.
 Duane 2 points
Use a file or Dremmel tool to remove the rounded part of your hex. This will expose clean hex tool edges.
 micfro 2 points
I am also experiencing problems removing this. It seems to be glued, and stuck! I have tried the wd40, but without any luck. I guess I have to use the Dremel, and wait for some spare parts...
 Gagenie 43 points
Ya, I have same problem I got them out using a 1/16" imperial hex which is a little bigger and fits in tight.
 alainvbelle 205 points
Same problem here...You should warm it up with burner or soldering iron, try to isolate the plastic parts of the flame with tinfoil
 grupps 9 points
i cant get this screw out, what size hex does it take? Might have to find a hardened hex. Last resort i will have to drill it out which is BS
 ezarc 138 points
I think its glued in with thread lock, I rounded off 6 new 1.5mm allen keys trying to get it out. Im goint to drill it out.

The only weak part of the car, other than the servo, buy several of these as they are the deliberate soft part as everything else is metal (needs to be soft so will not destroy entire veh if there is a problem
