hello, I can't go to the forum for speak to Sour41 for a mé*tal spur gear.... but i need this parts!!!! please help me.... french customer a little lost.... thx
I'd like to see this part in some strong material as an option. These aren't expensive but got to pull half the car apart to get to it. And all it takes is one grain of sand to damage it and it happens too often. I'd rather be changing pinions than the spur.
Spur gear wears out quickly if the gear mesh is loose, check the mesh between the gears often and adjust to keep them close but smooth running, on the monster beetle this gear gets damaged if brakes are applied on a hard surface like asphalt, keep a spare gear on hand.
hello and yes due always check the gear mesh as the motor and motor mount screws due seem to come loose and you can try to put a drop of blue lock tight on the screws and also always check the asjustment on the slipper clutch as i have over tightened the screws and that will make the slipper clutch to tight to not work and to set the slipper clutch screws i always snug the screws down evenly and then back off the screws about a 1/4 turn and then with the truck on the ground i apply pressure on the car and then try to move the spure gear if it wont then back off the screws a little each one or if it rolles to easy then tighten the screws a little as you should have some roll ristence well hope this helps
hello. I wonder if this piece spur gear comes from some harder material than plastic. Because they break very easily. From already thank you very much.
Is it 0.5 mod or 48p? (I think it's 0.5 mod, but I'm not sure.) And if it is 0.5 mod, can I use it in combination with gear #E3.17-0.5-17T in the Turnigy 1/16 Racing Buggy? I stripped the spur gear and need a new one. I also need a different pinion, because my motor shaft is 3.17mm (that's why I need a pinion something like #E3.17-0.5-17T).
hello and yes this spure gear will fit the 1/16 buggy and the 1/18 stadium truck and also the no longer made trinity now brushless truggy and the trinity itsy bitsy spyder and also the trinity blade hope this help all
hello and yes it will fit the 1/16 buggy and as i have found out for my self be sure to tighten both screws the same and when you get them snug back them off about 1/4 turn out and reinstall then when all in put on ground and bottom out the truck with presure and try to turn the spure gear as it should turn with youre thumb with some resentice if you cant loosen up the screws or if you can turn it easy then tighten the screws some hope this helps
Can anyone tell me the spec on this gear as to what mod or what pitch it is like is it mod .5 .6 or so on or is it a 32 pitch or 48 pitch? I am trying to find a delrin replacement . Or im gonna have some delrin ones made here at a local shop.
lo mejor es calentarlo con un soplete chico yo hice eso y se aflojo enseguida despues que lo saques te conbiene usar loctite para tornillos.
saludos
Suerte
In general removing small broken screws is best done by drilling the screw out. Use a drill bit smaller than the screw, so if the screw is 2.5 mm use a 1.8 mm drill bit, or 2.0 mm drill bit if the screw's thread is very fine. Put the drill bit in the screw's head and drill through the screw. After drilling all the way through use needle nose pliers to crush and remove the remains of the screw. There is also a tool called a "screw extractor". Search for this on google or youtube.
You need to removed the screws from the top brace, front and rear and then you can bend the diff back and remove it that way or take the screws out from under the chassis and take the whole diff out.
Dont use Metal, if anything metal stuck between your motor and Spur Gear then it will disturb your motor or Spur Gear aligenment. So Plastic is good and cheap, only replacement is the only problem.
suggestion, not to use metal spur gear. if small sand particles mesh between pinion nd spur so 1 think must b broke, which is weak either spur or pinion
I haven't seen an aluminum replacement. A plastic spur gear is a cheap, easily replaceable weak link. If you strengthen it, you may start breaking other components of the drive line.
You cant get any that I know of yet but it would be a good idea, they have a adjustable slipper clutch in the cars anyway so if you back that off you cant damage the diffs, it will just slip under too much power. But try and make a plastic spur/pinion gaurd to stop dirt and sand getting in there.
i have found that alloy in this buggy is not a flash idea. you strip spur like tiolet papper and the brass pinion gear will not hold up to the friction and you be left with a pretty glod brass line upinside you bodyu lol
The spur gear lasts much longer if you correctly set the mesh between the pinion and spur gears. To do this, cut a small strip of paper and place it between the two gears with the motor's adjustment screw loosened. Press the pinion gear into the spur gear and tighten the adjustment screw, while holindg the two gears together. Rotate the spur to remove the paper strip, and you will have an excellent meshing between the two gears. I have 20 or more packs through my A2003T buggy and I am still using the same spur gear the car came with. I drive on asphalt, rocky terrain, and gritty horrible concrete dust with rocks in it.
You have to check the height between engine in relation to the chassis, because the HK 1 / 16 model the chassis has an opening and the gear is fitted in this opening.
Você tem que verificar a altura em que esta montado o motor em relação ao chassi, pois no modelo 1/16 da HK o chassi tem uma abertura e a engrenagem fica encaixado nesta abertura.
I am also experiencing problems removing this. It seems to be glued, and stuck! I have tried the wd40, but without any luck. I guess I have to use the Dremel, and wait for some spare parts...
I think its glued in with thread lock, I rounded off 6 new 1.5mm allen keys trying to get it out. Im goint to drill it out.

This part is the weakest of the entire 1/16 Brushless 4WD
Monster Beatle!!! After 15 minutes fun done with fun!!!
All teeth deducted with 3cel 2.2 Ah 30c Zippy battery.
Dit onderdeel is het zwakste van de gehele 1/16 Brushless
4WD Monster Beatle!!! Na 15 minuten fun gedaan met fun!!!
Alle tanden afgetrokken met 3cel 2,2 Ah 30c Zippy batterij.
The only weak part of the car, other than the servo, buy several of these as they are the deliberate soft part as everything else is metal (needs to be soft so will not destroy entire veh if there is a problem
