are these sensor-ed or sensor-less motors thanks
 Tiago 16 points
it's sensorless motors!

how well would these work for a quad copter compared to the hextronik DT 750kv motors?
 rahulvyas 311 points
These are better. I am using these for my hexacopter.
Jackie  5 points - 4/16/2013

Would this be good for a bixler 2 upgrade?
 rahulvyas 311 points
not recommended. go with higher RPM motors.
Tomasz  1 points - 4/16/2013

can i use it with a 10x 4.5 prop with f30A ESC for my quadro? I want to pick a prop that fits perfectly, without to much heat on that motor
 Arun 130 points
If you are using a 3s better go with 9" props... For 2s go with a bigger one like 1245 does the job perfectly.. I will recommend you to go with a 3s setup.. all the best
 Arun 130 points
And if you want the best of this motor use a 1015 or 47 props with 3s with a 25-30A esc... will get heated a bit but works good...
 rahulvyas 311 points
Go with 11x4.7" Props. or even 12x4.5" props and go with 25A Plush ESC. also use 4000mAh 30C battery. I am using these to build my hex.
 Arun 130 points
Rahul 1247 with 3s will be overpowered.. it is recommended for 2s only
 rahulvyas 311 points
I saw a video on youtube for it. Ya maybe its overpowered. that's why I bought 11x4.7" finally.
 Arun 130 points
1147 prop and 3s may burn this motor after 2-3 mins of full throttle... safest part is 1045-47 with 3s... And you will get 190-200w of power.. for more thrust you could have opt for the 2836/8 with 1047 and 3s for 1000 gms
 Kristopher 9 points
ive ran this motor full throttle on a 13x6.5 doesn't even get hot.
 rahulvyas 311 points
Really? was it a 2S battery?
 Kristopher 9 points
2836-750. 3s. 13x6.5e apc. 12.8 amps. If you use 4s do a 8x4e for 9.5 amps. And 9x7.5e for 13 amps. Amazing power. Never gets hot.
 rahulvyas 311 points
Nice. so you mean my setup is safe. I am using 11x4.7" props. and 3S 4500mAh 30C for my hexacopter which is weighing 2100grams.
 Kristopher 9 points
thats way safe.
 Kristopher 9 points
plus this motor is a little lower quality then for example the ntm series so running a smaller prop will be safer.
 Kristopher 9 points
one more thing. im using 4 2836-750 on my quad with 13x6.5s and a 4000mah 3s
 rahulvyas 311 points
your quad weighs how much?
 Kristopher 9 points
i don't have a scale. but honestly if you have any problems with it, the ntm series is worth the extra $5
 rahulvyas 311 points
bro, if this hex flies ok, I will upgrade the motors to 3536-750kv from r c t i m e r ......or the 19$ 650kv from RC T I M E R. Or how about the AX 750kv from hobbyking? which is for about 17$?
rocorama  32 points - 4/9/2013

Anyone have any idea as to what the size of those connectors are?

Thanks for the reply but if the max current is 14 amps and current x volts equals watts then 14 x 11.1 = 155.4 Watts Yet the specs say 210 Watts I still dont get it
 ColFlame 33 points
210W is most probably the maximum burst wattage, 155W must be average wattage at approximately half throttle.

I dont get it with the specs on this motor Two readings for max current one 14Amp and one 20Amp Huge differnce there 20 Amp seems the most likely if the watts are 200 but how would we know if thats right?
 rahulvyas 311 points
Max current is 14A. I use the same motors on my hexacopter. The suggested ESC is 20A.
 Matthew 1 points
What size prop are you running with your hex?
 rahulvyas 311 points
11x4.7"

The TOP bearing is 4mm ID, 8mm OD, 3mm height. I replied earlier but it looks like HK blocked it out? Hope this helps!

hi... how I can control this brushless motor combine with esc turnigy plush-30A with bascom AVR...? can I get schematic and coding..? cheers.... iqbal.
 sajid 6 points
you need to push a 50Hz PWM wave out of your avr controller and to control the motor 1ms ON-time pulse in pwm will give lowest speed and 2ms on time pulse will give full throttle.

I would like to uses this Motor to build a new QuadroCopter. Do you think, this is a good Motor?
 Wraith0078 7 points
I'm using it to build mine from Flitetest's H-Quad plans. There has been one other person on their forums that built one with this motor and he seemed quite happy with it as well.
 Roberto 7 points
It is a very good motor combined with the dlux 20A and ardupilot or kk and hk Electronics

Anybody ever used one of these with an 11x4.5" prop? Too much, or can they handle it?

Hi, I use this with a 10x4.5 slow fly and it works great...if you use a 11x4.5 should have no problem, but it could heat up.

can the shaft be moved to the back for reverse use/fixing to the plane?
 Kitan 130 points
Yes, I had one of these motors laying around, and when i read your question, I tried to reverse it. You need to remove few parts(there are many videos about this on youtube) and remove the shaft, maybe get a new one to put in or just put same one reversed. Please award credits if this helped.

Can this motors run on normal conditions 8 hours per day, 5 years? ~ 60.000 hours?
 alex.khoroshko 333 points
No. Model engines don't last for so long. 100 - 1000 hours, I suppose, is closer to reality. 10 min/day it may last for a year-two-three if you're lucky.
 Eelco_G 6 points
Just out of curiosity, what's your application?

I've bought 4 of this motor for my gaui 500x. I use 3s lipo 2200mah 35c All not work well. Quad jumping, vertical hop in hovering. I've Esc Turnigy Plus 25A, there is any setting to do like timing or any parameter? I've 10x4,5 prop. Quad is 1,2kg What can i do? tnx
 Bektorkhan 13 points
This ESC with smooth Throttle response is not ggod for multirotors, you need as fast response as possible. Maybe you can flash it with Simon Kirby firmware (warranty void i suppose) see: *******wiki.openpilot****/display/Doc/Flashing Instructions
BEST ANSWER CREDIT AWARDED
 Nicola 6 points
I'm not sure that the problem is the ESC. Fast or smooth response. The problem is mostly standing still hovering without touching the trhottle. These ESC are fine with the original engines Gaui 1050kv. Why do you say that is a problem of throttle response? You can explain better? Thank you!
 Jeff 5 points
I know for a fact that those will NOT work, not a good enough refresh rate! I've tried them and they don't work, you can use a plush, or the A.E. ones are working real good for me. Cant flash that ESC, the only one you couldn't flash, I bought the programmer, and it doesn't even re flash!!! You will need different ESC's or find someone who can flash what you already have. Sorry man, for the bad news
 Nicola 6 points
You wrote: "you can use a plush..." My Esc are Plush 25A.. So, if the problem is really the esc, the turnigy 30A 400hz can solve my problem?
 Jeff 5 points
I'm sorry!!! I thought said you had the brick 25, not the plush. Ok, all my plush work fine, just need to use the highest response rate in the programming. Again, my bad. It's the red brick 25's you can't flash. Plush should be good to flash unless it's the new ones with silabs chip. From what I've read
 Nicola 6 points
Ok :-) but i can change response with only program card or i must flash it?
 Jeff 5 points
I thought you could do it from the card..... I will have a look when I get home. If not, I changed mine with the transmitter and all the beeps and what not! The ugly way to do the programming.
 Nicola 6 points
Ok let me know!! Tnx :-)
 Jeff 5 points
Tes, on the program card you make sure timing mode, #6 on the card is set to high. Thats what I did on my Plush 12's, and they work great at that setting. Anything lower, the quad was all over the place
 TK3003 19 points
I use 4x of this motor for QUAD 12x3.8 APC prop, HK RedBrick 30A flashed SimonK. 3s 4000mah, home made frame 580mm motor distance. HK KK2 LCD. Work well, get 16.5min fully charge.

Hello,
Can i use the High Tech Super 8 ESC18A , 20A cont. 30A burst for this motor?
Thanks for your answer
Dimitri
 Tejas 3 points
Yes, sure you can use that ESC but the ampere rating of ESC must never be less then the amperes required by motor otherwise you're gonna blow off your ESC i.e this motor takes 14A max current so the ampere rating of your ESC must be 14A or higher, good luck.
beo9601  8 points - 11/29/2012

hello I wanted to know if this engine is good for a quadricopter with a weight of 2kg Thanks so much
 quadbrains 81 points
you need to reduce the weight upto 500gm then only these motors will work.......maximum thurst is 8oogm so 800*4 = 3200 your qudcopter's wight must be about 1500gm
Mark  10 points - 11/22/2012

I've bought and received 3 of these motors for my try-copter project. They arrived without connectors and two of them are DOA (glitch) and not spinning. Only one of these motors is fully functional. What do I do to exchange them? Pleae advise ASAP! Regards

Do not dream considering the price, if you want one, purchased in 4. bearings are fragile.

i have 4 18a turnigy plush ESC a friend gave me. i want to build a smaller quad. will this motor be too much for those 18amp esc? what props are best for this motor and the 18 amp esc? how heavy can my model be?
 Mark 10 points
Why don't the HK stock them in the USA Warehouse?
 Bezold 39 points
10x3.8 slow fly or somewhere around there should work well for a quad with this motor. They will produce probably 500-600g of thrust and shouldn't exceed 20 amps at max throttle. Definitely try to keep the weight at or below 1000g.
stefano  25 points - 11/13/2012

is possible to use 10 or 11" prop on 3s on hexacopter?
 Gary 2968 points
Yes,this motor will handle these props,have calculated some figures below;
10x4.7 9.5amps 102w.
10x6 11amps 120w.
11x4.7 12amps 131w.
11x5.5 13amps 145w.

I'm building a 40" version of the 3DBatix profile 330 now. 12x6 prop?
 rc speed 277 points
12*6 prop if you use 2S is ok. For 3S 9*6. When the moptor is hot try whit smaller prop.
 davovinch 15 points
Hmm, I would think 9*6 would be seriously under propped at 750kv, I run my 1050 kv motors at 9*5E to 10*4.7SF or 10*6E on 3s and my 850's on 10*4.7sf to 11*6E *3s. I'll just have to play around with it
 rc speed 277 points
Only try. if the motor on 9*6 is not hot you can use bigger prop...You need to try! I wish you luck!

i use a slowfly 10x3.8 prop on it for 3d and a apc 9x6 for sport flight.

Suerte!

Neat Little Motor, but it doesn't seem fast enough for my custom built foamie. I am new to this but I would suggest their 1400 Kv motor instead, i'm adding it to my basket as i write this.

Just installed it on my Park Master and it works great with 11x5 prop. I needed to push the shaft to come out from the other side. I fits perfectly to the screws positions in the plane. The adapter needs to be installed not all the way because it touches the motor screws. The plain is a little fast I will try it with 10x4.7 prop also. The motor was not very hot after a 20 minutes of flight.

I have just received this product and it seems to be well made and certainly good value for money. Having not flown it yet I cannot comment on it's performance but I'm sure it will meet my requirements. Having read one of the previous reviews who suggests "pushing the shaft through to the other side" I would ask if this is possible because I would also prefer the mounting holes to be at the front rather than the rear. Could somebody confirm if this is possible without damaging the motor? It seems risky to me!

Good product, all the engines came well. I use them in a cuadracopter, with battery of 3s. And propeller 12x6 they work well, and do not warm too much. The ESC are 30amps.
