Hi, I want to use this in a Genesis Catamaran. How does the cable connect to the threaded prop shaft. Does the square end just plug into the prop shaft or do you need to solder or used some sort of threadlock jointing compound. Thanks
I bought this cable to fit to my genesis, its under 4mm in DIA and the coupling does not grab it at all....The shaft just pushes into the square end of the drive shaft, no glue or solder required. remember to remove and grease after every time you use it or every second or 3rd pack if you spend the day at the lake.
i have this shaft for my hornet F1 too (for replacement/spare) but there is not enough room/space for the shaft inside the outboard, the stock prop shaft will not fitted with this flex shaft too..you have to change it and the telefon tube to the bigger one too..if you wish to have a try..hope this help
jason just wont to say thanks been wonting to convert my catamaran from solid shaft to flexi shaft for ages, but since i havent used flexishaft before it keeped giving me a head ache when trying to work out what i needed. the parts you have listed is perfect for me thanks
Yes, this flex shaft/axle is squared at the end tha connects to the drive shaft. This flex shaft works with drive shaft HK-511B22. The other end is round and can be used with any motor coupler/adapter that accepts a 4mm flex shaft such as the 5mm-to-4mm shaft adapter (HK-529B31). Hope this helps! :)
good product.... 4mm is diameter of the shaft. 300mm is the length. one end is square and fits Drive shaft with thread www.link and other is round fits Shaft Adapter - 5mm motor shaft to 4mm Flexi www.link only for anti-clock wise rotation not for counter rotating prop. it might unwind under load. amit
rcvd my shaft just now..the quality seem fantastic…need to try first..haha..but i thnik it cannot fit my F1 hornet outboard..the diameter was just too big..but need to try and make some adjustment if i can...hope it worthed buy..tq KH..hehe
