does hobby king sell just the bracket that mounts to the transom? I want to purchase another so I can keep the stinger mounted at its stock location but want to offset the factory rudder.
Hi Rockcster..Thanksmate.
I'm Lookiung at the 2848SL 3900kv Brushless Inrunner (WaterCooled).
Can You Perhaps Recommend the Items I Require to Complete this Project with this Rudder and Motor from the Hobbyking Catelogue.
For a 73cm Mystic you need a 3674 or 4074 motor , kv depending on how much lipo cells you wil be running. Aim for about 30K rpm's , 4s = 30.000÷*14.8= 2027kv. So a 2000~2200 kv motor on 4s would be best choice.
The 2848 is waaaaayyyyyy to small for a 73cm Cat.
hi i have apparition 820mm and i run 3660 2700kv on 4s and 5s as well without any problems temps after 5000mah 5s 37mm prop is 37 celcius so is ok rpm wise i never had problems to spin motor with 50k rpm range as leopard take 60k rpm max so im still on safe side as i said i run this for over a year every two weeks without no issue hope this will help
Hi Guy's Really new to Boat Building..I started Building a Mystic C5000 73cm .. hull almost done now stuck with the Rest. :(
I'm looking into the Rudder(Large)HK-502B20 .
Really need some help with the rest of the Stock Required , Drive Shaft ,Prop, Flex Cable Etc.
Please Help.
The bushing size is for a 4mm prop shaft. U can run whatever size flex cable U want as long as the prop shaft is 4mm. Other wise U will have to change the bushing in the strut. Cables with .150" and 4mm shafts are available. As far as the prop, hard to say since I don't know what kind of motor U have, ya know kv,max amps. Need that info and how much does it weigh fully loaded?

RLopez- Really? Do you own some of these boats? I have mine and my friends it has 3/16 or 4.7mm and we uses Octura x440 3 prop and x447 and TFL 437 all prop is 3/16. Although some of them uses 4mm flex cable and for your information these boats had two piece drive system. Some of the discription on this site is incorrect so dont rely on all informations given. Thats why they have REVIEW and DISCUSSIONS.
Check this site and you'll see: www.link on this site: Pursuit Drive Shaft This is the stock replacement shaft that came on the boat. Shaft diameter is 3/16 inch
3 friends all purchased from HK and they are all 4mm. another 2 friend purchased from other stores both 4mm. No one said some suppliers haven't fitted 3/16 drive systems. The comment and topic is the boat listed on HK not anywhere else.....Thanks and chheerz
This is the same unit that's on the Genesis, so it has to be 4mm inner diameter. You can pop out the bushings and add 3/16 ones if you like or just bore the 4mm out to 3/16.
Sorry the Genesis is neither 3/16 or 5/16.It's a 4mm drive. Everyone I know is upgrading to 3/16 because they are spinning the tube. Refer to the web page. www.link your info first :D
Both the App and the Gen use 4MM shafts. The same as the Persuit. Sebastian, I don't know whee you got 5/16 or 4.7mm from. This is in fact a 4MM strut. I NEVER said they were 3/16. I said they can be upgraded as such with Areomarine bushings. That is exactly what I did to my Genesis.

I own a Genesis and frequent and read about these boats on Offsoreelectrics forum to know people are converting them from 4MM square drive prop shaft to 3/16 drive with ether 1.50 or 1.87 cable. If yours is different I will not argue. I know my Genesis was 4MM for a fact and it uses the "Large Rudder" depicted on this page.

Maybe you are right. But I think some have different version. But in Asia most rc boat w/ 28inches above have 4mm/5mm flex cable drive but uses 3/16 prop drive. Some of the boat information on this site is not correct. But if you recieve the boat most came with 3/16 prop drive which is better beacuse you will have more choice of prop size. happy boating! Much appretiated if you have some information to share.
I bought two of these for my 75cm scratch build twin drive catamaran and they seem to me as a prfect fit for a model of that size.
The thing that holds the shaft in place has installed I think some sleve berings tha fit 4mm shafts and the hole on other end is 6mm. Maxsimum distance betwen centar shaft and bottom mount is 38mm, the mounting base itself is 30mm X 24mm, other mesurements are as specified. The surface finish is nice and smooth.
One more thing that I like is that the ruder is held in place with a plastic screw along side a mettal one, so if i happen to find some rocks or other forms of shalow watter that is the firs thing to break and prevend greater damage.
All in all its a great product and I cant wait to show them some watter.
Great set up for the money. I have more on backorder. Rokcster 5 stars

Great product! I believe this is the replacement for the 100cm Genesis, but I am using on a 70cm mono hull and it works great. Made very well and I love the break-away teflon screw (just in case I hit any unseen underwater objects at high speed!). The water pick up work fairly well. I was worried about getting enough pressure to go through all of my cooling components (pick-up from rudder goes through motor jacket, motor mount, and ESC), but with any speed I see water coming out of my outlet hole, and all components stay at just barely warm. (this is running at 450~650 watts).
