  RATED:

Turnigy nano-tech 2200mah 3S 25~50C Lipo Pack

Turnigy nano-tech 2200mah 3S 25~50C Lipo Pack

More than just a fancy name. TURNIGY nano-tech Lipoly batteries were designed from the ground up with serious peformance in mind. Utilising an advanced LiCo nano-technology substrate that allows electrons to pass more freely from anode to cathode with less internal impedance. In short; less voltage sag and a higher discharge rates than a similar density lithium polymer (non nano-tech) batteries.

For those that love graphs, it means higher voltage under load, straighter discharge curves and excellent performance. For pilots it spells stronger throttle punches and unreal straight-up performance. Excellent news for 3D pilots!

Unfortunately with other big brands; numbers, ratings and graphs can be fudged. Rest assured, TURNIGY nano-techs are the real deal, delivering unparalleled performance!

Specs:
Capacity: 2200mAh
Voltage: 3S1P / 3 Cell / 11.1V
Discharge: 25C Constant / 50C Burst
Weight: 187g (including wire, plug & case)
Dimensions: 106x35x24mm
Balance Plug: JST-XH
Discharge Plug: XT60

Advantages over traditional Lipoly batteries;
• Power density reaches 7.5 kw/kg.
• Less Voltage sag during high rate discharge, giving more power under load.
• Internal impedance can reach as low as 1.2mO compared to that of 3mO of a standard Lipoly.
• Greater thermal control, pack usually doesn’t exceed 60degC
• Swelling during heavy load doesn’t exceed 5%, compared to 15% of a normal Lipoly.
• Higher capacity during heavy discharge. More than 90% at 100% C rate.
• Fast charge capable, up to 15C on some batteries.
• Longer Cycle Life, almost double that of standard lipoly technology.

The nano-core technology in lithium ion batteries is the application of nanometer conductive additives. The nanometer conductive additives form ultra-strong electron-conducting networks in the electrodes which can increase electronic conductivity.

These additives create the ability for imbibition in the carrier liquid to supply more ion channels. This improves the ability of ion transmission and ion diffusion. Through improving electronic conductivity and ion transmission, the impedance is reduced and the polarization of high rate discharge decreases greatly.

Suited to the following models: ALIGN T-REX450, E-flite Blade 450 3D, BEAM E4, MSH Protos Mini, Furion 450, ThunderTiger E325/Mini Titan SE.

It has been my experience that the Nanotech range suffer from more voltage sag than regular Turnigy. I was told on good authority that Hobbyking will stop selling the Nanotechs and that the A Series will replace them and that the A series are super and what the Nanotechs were supposed to be. Like many I purchased the Nanotechs in good faith and believed the description and that it would justify the price difference.

hello Derek thanks for this info.

Are these better than the standard Turnigy equivalent or Zippy? I'm fairly new to (modern) RC and there are so many different batteries that all look the same. I was looking at the ZIPPY Flightmax 2200mAh 3S1P 20C but then these? I do understand the charge rate and discharge rate but still, so many batteries... I am looking to purchase a Bixler 2 so need batteries for it but really quite unsure of difference between Turnigy/nanotech and Zippy. Thanks in advance!
 Christ 773 points
hello Simomax yes they are better, however the difference will not be noticeable for your bixler :-( for sych plane I would get zippy compact 30C or 35C. remember the C value is the multiplier of the current the battery can do. So 2200mA x 30 = 66 A MAX. The max value is only for short duration like 10 secconds And all chinese site are VERY optimistic. so divide by factor 2 to be realistic. This is 33A, more than enough for your Bixler. Don't forget to buy a good charger and never stock charged batteries. Always do a "storage" charge (3.8V) after a flying session I hope this help Enjoy flying

HI Christ, Thanks for your answer. I know about the C rating and having to store them on a storage charge, but not that the values are very optimistic. That is good info, thank you for that. I probably should have wrote more detail on my question as I was mainly referring to the different makes/types of battery. I currently have a quadcopter with 4000Mah 3S 40C Zippy batteries and whilst I think they work great I am unsure if the equivalent Turnigy/Nanotech would be better, and thus the same question with regard to the batteries for the Bixler 2 which I plan to buy. So I guess really my question is to do with the quality of batteries and do the more expensive Nanotech last longer etc. and are they worth paying the extra for them. Cheers!
 Christ 773 points
hello Simomax well different question :-) nanotech is better. but they will not last longer (not more cycle charge / discharge) Only the internal resistance is lower and as such they run coolerat equivalent current and deliver more power to your motor but the diference is not so visible.for your quand, you have also to consider the weight of the battery as usually the compact zippy are light compared to the nanotech. Enjoy flying

Hi Christ, That answers my question perfectly. You have been very helpful. Many thanks! :-)
 Christ 773 points
thanks Simomax. Meanwhile I searched some comparison for zippy compact and nanotech. for example 2200 3S 25C nanotech 187 gr 14.95€*, compact 163gr 9.64€*. in fact for the price and weight of a nanoech you can have a 2700 zippy compact. Basically I bought some nanotech in the past but now only buying zippy compact. Enjoy flying

Hi Christ, Thanks for the extra information/comparison. When I searched for batteries for my quadcopter I mainly bought the Zippy due to weight and price. The 40C also seemed enough to give my quad enough power when I needed to punch it full throttle. I think based on the fact I am happy with my current Zippy batteries and your opinion I will go for Zippy batteries for my models. You enjoy flying also!

Whats better .... Turnigy nano-tech 2200mah 3S 25~50C Lipo Pack or Turnigy 2700mAh 3S 20C Lipo Pack (Suitable for Quanum Nova, Phantom, QR X350)?
 Christ 773 points
Hello Dlca88 both will gives you about the same result. Check for discount prices to chose. Enjoy flying

As I need to travel with these battery can you let me know what is the lithium content of the pack? Also do you have a document or sheet stating the above?

166 thumbs up!
Just AWESOME performance. I am using this battery on my 28 inch Mig-29 Foamy. Plenty of power. Using it wil 30 Amps ESC. Works great. Battery does not even get warm @30 amps discharge. good value for money and worth a buy. I can charge this at 10 amps using my icharger. get full in less than 15 mins. Great battery at a great price.

1 thumbs up!
fine battery. I use it in 450GT better performance than rhino and gives more mah. I have maximum current 40A with no issues

These batteries are the Bomb! loads of power fast charge and very flat discharge curve. Just slightly warm when I push them hard 50A I am steping up to the 45-90c next.
