More than just a fancy name. TURNIGY nano-tech lithium polymer batteries are built with an LiCo nano-technology substrate complex greatly improving power transfer making the oxidation/reduction reaction more efficient, this helps electrons pass more freely from anode to cathode with less internal impedance. In short; less voltage sag and a higher discharge rate than a similar density lithium polymer (non nano-tech) battery. For those that love graphs, it means a straighter, longer curve. For pilots it spells stronger throttle punches and unreal straight-up performance. Excellent news for 3D pilots!
Unfortunately with other big brands; numbers, ratings and graphs can be fudged. Rest assured, TURNIGY nano-techs are the real deal, delivering unparalleled performance!
Suited to the following models: E-flite MCX, MCX2, MSR, Nano CP X
*The nano-core technology in lithium ion batteries is the application of nanometer conductive additives. 1) The nanometer conductive additives form ultrastrong electron-conducting networks in the electrodes which can increase electronic conductivity. 2) These additives create a superstrong ability for imbibition in the carrier liquid to supply more ion channels. This improves the ability of ion transmission and ion diffusion. Through improving electronic conductivity and ion transmission, the impedance is reduced and the polarization of high rate discharge decreases greatly. Advantages over traditional Lipo batteries; -Power density reaches 7.5 kw/kg. -Less Voltage sag during high rate discharge, giving more power under load. -Internal impedance can reach as low as 1.2mΩ compared to that of 3mΩ of a standard Lipoly. -Greater thermal control, pack usually doesnt exceed 60degC -Thickness swelling during heavy load doesnt exceed 5%, compared to 15% of a normal Lipoly during heavy load. -Higher capacity during heavy discharge. More than 90% at 100% C rate. -Fast charge capable, up to 15C on some batteries. -Longer Cycle Life, almost double that of standard lipoly technology.
it is an awesome battery for the blade mcx and mcx2 and any other eflite/blade micro ie nano, msr, alot of the micro planes too. i have almost 20 of these and love them way more than the $5 stock batteries at 1/5 of the price
depends on the type of connectors on ur fp100 , the older ones used to have metallic rails for contacts , now i 've seen they' re modified to have the micro-jst instead , check them out before u buy
If you do the "Swapable battery mod" shown on RcGroups for this model you could use a variety of different batteries including this one. You do want to make sure you make it so you don't affect the center of gravity. With this larger battery It may have to be positioned under the model using velcro or something similar. I put one on my landing gear with a rubber band and it flew, but not very well. Maybe with the other battery out, it will be light enough. I think it will be too heavy though even with the other battery removed, but it will definitely fly.
I don't like complaining about batteries but THESE BATTERIES ARE TERRIBLE. I bought 4 and I've broken into one of them. On my Nano CPX I get 3:30 to 4 minutes out of the E-flite batteries and I only get 2 minutes out of the nano tech. It's almost like they're mislabled and they're only actually 100mah. Every other Nano tech battery has been outstanding, the 300mah on my mcpx, the 450Mah 2s on my 130x, the 850MaH 3s on my HK 250, but the 160Mah batteries were a huge disappointment.
Warning to all.
These now seem to come with some bodgy holographic sticker on the back.
If you plan to use velcro to hold the battery REMOVE THE STICKER or it'll fall off, generally in flight.
You have been warned.
i use these alot on my msrx.i found if i roll them on a hard surface{gently but firm}and roll the foil like corners tight, they slide in much better.GREAT BATTERIE!
I use these batteries in my Blade Msr and my Flyzone micro Dr1 Triplane and they have been working very well. I have had one go bad and puff on me, but that's out of 20 that I own. It is over 1 1/2 years old and has been used for many flights. In my experience they are Great Batteries
I personally remove factory battery sleeve and replace with velcro. It gives you more versatility with mAh ratings and you don't have to ever worry about size just weight.
DiscountRaja, Well my friend thought the same as you and crammed them in, he now has stress marks on the frame and one cracked. Have to say they are held tight!!! I can only go by what I have seen. Your frame must be more flexible.
Hi The Bear, I found that installing them upside down helped them to fit fine. They are snug, but I didn't have any stress marks. I think its because of the folded lipo battery casing...
That is interesting. I tried them both ways up in my Nano CPX and they didn't want to go in. My friend's Nano had the same problem but his MCX appears to have a more flexible battery carrier even though it looks the same. I will suggest to him to try the batteries the other way up and see if he finds it better. Thanks. I have just warmed my carrier up with a hot air gun which solved the problem.
Hello Salasgr, the specificstion of nano cpx battery is:
150mAh 1S 3.7V 25C LiPo Battery
Product www.link oz (4.15 g)
Configuration: 1S
Length: 1.47 in (37.5mm)
Width: 0.48 in (12.2mm)
Height: 0.22 in (5.5mm)
Maximum Continuous Discharge : 25C
Maximum Continuous Current : 3,75a
Based on that info, this 160 ma battery did not fit on nano cpx heli!
Hi Edney, im 100% sure that those batteries can fit on Ncpx's battery trace and they can perform very good using stock motor. The question is if someone has use them with Brushless motor..
Thanks anyway for your reply!
Hello. The most important for the batteries is if the esc can recognize the lipo type. If yout esc for the brushless motor can be settled for lipo, yes, you can use this battery. The esc is the responsable for the voltage control, avoiding the motor to use less than 3 v per cell from lipo batteries. If the cell voltage is less than 3v, problaby you will loose the batt.
These are too deep to fit the standard frame but I have used elasitic band to hold one in place and it gave a simular flight time. The frame could be modified with a little heat but I would stick to the stock items.
I need a battery for a nine eagles kestrel/free spirit 2 cell 600ah. numbers on battery are DY 9B22 YT552948HH NE-009 Demisions are 2 1/8" x1 3/16" w x3/8" inches
Hey, has anyone used this in a Nano CPx and loved them? I flew a buddy's with these but only once and they were pretty new, has anyone had them for a while and they still performing good?
Yes, they are the correct size, weight and capacity. You can always experiment with higher capacity, but it will be a trade off between weight and flight times. If you use heavier batteries, the plane will also handle differently, so keep that in mind.
For those using these batteries on V911, I understand that these batteries can be used directly on the V911 new version. The battery charger that is supplied by WL toys for the new version - is that compatible with these batteries or do we need to buy a charger separately for these.
Although I did buy 10 of these for my V911, They do not work with the heli or its USB charger. Im confirming that. (thankfully I have a nano cpx to use them with)
This battery works with a hk190? I tried to use one and my heli had problems in the tail motor, it began to turn just to the right and not to the left. When i restored the original battery it began to work normally.
The connector on this battery is different and would not fit the Nine Eagle. Just search this site for "nine eagle" and you will find a number of compatible li-pos for it.

4 thumbs up!
Testing in Blade MCX, charge on Cellpro 4, new Nano-tech 160mAh .. :-)
brought 10 off these for the price. using in my msr and you can notice the extra power from these over the standed batteries.getting more head speed and has made it more stable with the head speed and more weight on the bottem.had to dr the battery holder to get them to fit. great product will order more.now to get some 6s packs in these for my trex 500

2 thumbs up!
Test results using an mSR, max static load (1.3-1.6A). Full charge down to 3.1V.
Total energy (proportional to flight time at a given power level):
Tried the Turnigy 160's and they work great in my MSR - at a great price. Running two of them in parallel - for 15-20min flight times. Waiting for the nano's to come in so I can order to try. Can't beat the price. They are a bit bigger than the standard 160's so mods will have to be done to make them fit.

1 thumbs up!
Bought 7 for my mcx, took 2 months on backorder. When got them, they are a lot bigger, they are mostly longer though, in the reviews it says that they wont fit in the mcx without mods. I just slid one in, no mods nessasery.
