Hi, What's the speed with 6s?
 mad about boats 44 points
i wouldnt reconmend 6s as it has a 2881kv motor and 6s is 22.2v x 2881 is 63958 rpm i think u will find the motor wont like that. might last a second if your lucky. but it should take 4s with out over doing the rpm
Crashtruk  409 points - 11/10/2011

"Spare parts arriving soon" I have known you for a while HK and soon means 2 years!
 Mete 31 points
i wonder what later means here
darrell  2 points - 10/9/2011

I thought plug and drive meant plug battery and drive???so y it need esc???
 TRIBOUILLOY 6 points
oui besoin d'une batterie, mais aussi d'un ensemble émetteur récepteur, puis d'un servo. finalement c'est plutot ARTR
Roger  5 points - 7/29/2011

Hi Have just got the boat but not tried it yet. Can anyone help me with what kind of prop that fits this boat?
 joris 1 points
This depends on what size of motor you are running.
Phanos  1 points - 7/4/2011

I have purchased the NTN 600 boat but I have problem with the CG. Can you please provide photos with the configuration and battery location? I have tried to move the batteries at the back right hand side but the problem has not been solved.
 RattleSnake 359 points
Same problem with mine, I moved the battery to behind the motor and it still looks like it wants to nosedive
 venicerc 9 points
you will need to change the angle of the prop shaft so that it is more even with th botom of the hull instesd of at a downward angle
 RattleSnake 359 points
* venicerc

The prop wasnt at a down angle, at a lvl or even up angle you still get it wanting to nosedive.
The nosedive effect is less but the boat is alot slower due to so much prop being out of the water.

This is a VERY BADLY designed hull.
It would work better if it had no steps in the hull.
Rhysus_monkey  2 points - 6/16/2011

received this boat with the esc and prop nut missing, made a claim on the 8th of june, still waiting for management to get back to me and its the 16th of june, anyone know how long this usually takes? very keen to test this boat but can't.
 RattleSnake 359 points
The boat doesn't come with an ESC.
 Rhysus_monkey 2 points
this boat does come with an esc, the catalogue states it and hobbyking are sending me one.
 RattleSnake 359 points
Then why does it say Esc REQUIRED twice. Once under Specs and once under REQUIRED?
 RattleSnake 359 points
I'll also add that mine arrived 2 yesterday and guess what? NO ESC!

Lucky I read the Description where it says esc not inclueded and bought one.
 Rhysus_monkey 2 points
then why does the catalogue and management state that it does come with one? why would they let me go through the warranty process and tell me they are sending me one when they have stock if thats not true? also if you got the catalogue with your order its in there, exact same plug 'n' drive boat that clearly states an esc is included
 RattleSnake 359 points
Or you could just look at this very Product listing that you are commenting on.
 RattleSnake 359 points
Dont believe what you read in that Catalogue.
If you look on the front page at the fox glider.

as seen here:
Fox EPO Glider 2.32M (91.4in) Plug-n-Fly (v2)
www.link ad gives 2 different wing lengths in the same ad,one measurement being more than twice the other.
 RattleSnake 359 points
I also hope you didnt pay the $299 they have on it in the catalogue when they have it listed for $174 right here.
RattleSnake  359 points - 6/13/2011

has anyone tried this with a 4s setup?
adrianofbr  24 points - 4/13/2011

This boat comes with an Esc or no? Thanks
 frogs 161 points
I believe it does but I would replace it as several people have had theirs go up in flame.
 Tyler 4 points
It does not. It is under "Required". That means it is required.
JIM  79 points - 8/16/2010

What is the speed of this boat on a 3s lipo in miles per hour , or mph , thanks jim
 gekko 22 points
Do you know how to keep the boat balanced? The battery sits in the front of the boat..
 james 28 points
I got so annoyed with trying to set the boat up and keep it balanced i sold it!!!
 Allan 8 points
you can balance the boat by using self adhesive lead weight. It needs to balance just behing the step and have the weight offest to the left to counteract torque.

Allan
 gekko 22 points
By the way, have you removed the flex shaft before....it seems to be stuck
 Allan 8 points
the flex will come out of the motor end - it has a square drive on the outboard end. To remove the stubshaft you have to remove the rear end of the drive and pull it out the front of it.
 gekko 22 points
The flex shaft is stuck inside the coupler. I have loosened the square end but since the flex shaft wont come out

Also how much did you put in the back of the boat? And you mentioned the "step" is that where the rudder is attached to the outside?
 Allan 8 points
sounds like it has coroded in the coupling slightly. Try some freeing agent - e.g. wd40. you may be able to wind it out - just make sure you only apply pressure so that the wind on the shaft tightens up. Step - no there is a step in the underside of the boat just rearward of the motor. Front of the cowl. That is what I referred to.
 gekko 22 points
got it thanks. Now, going back to the weight issue. how much weight did you add?
 Allan 8 points
depends on your cell weight. you may not need any - use the cell position to get the c of g right.
 gekko 22 points
Hi

If you are using 3S or 4s how much weight would you use?

Thanks
james  7 points - 7/28/2010

i am new to the rc boat world and im trying to by my first boat if i buy this boat what else will i have to buy to use it
 CAkale888 16 points
you will need a receiver and remote a stering servo and a battery also a charger if u dont have 1
 gekko 22 points
It can handle the 4S long enough but the problem is with balance of the boat as nycow mentioned below....How can I fix this?
 Allan 8 points
Don't add weight - move the cells
 MICHAEL 2 points
i have a 26.5" boat and i am averaging around 35 to 40 mph on 2s lipo. it is custom setup. but my boat and this one are about the same size. the only way to find out how it runs is get a few different size props and try them out. start with more pitch less diameter. the trow a aquacraft grim racer 3 blade on there and open her up.
moller123456  649 points - 5/28/2010

am i the only one who wants this as a bare hull? or just without the electronics?
 vasy1 605 points
no, but they cost the same in China :)
 moller123456 649 points
Yeah:P
Can the esc handle 4s?
 Eric1180 2278 points
If you have to ask .... then no it can't handle 4s
 nycow 10 points
1) Tested yesterday with 4S , no problem for esc ! 2) This boat is very nice but the difficulty comes from equilibrate the boat because the place of the battery pack is in front of the motor ... and with a 3S - 4000 mah as preconised, the boat is too heavy of the front ! Take care when choosing battery pack !
 nycow 10 points
Well ... 4S it will work ... but not for a long time : it has burned ! I change my opinion : DON'T RUN IN 4S ... Boat is fine but you will have to change implantation of components ... **> Not really plug and play ... !
 gekko 22 points
Salut nycow,

what do you suggest where to put the battery?
 nycow 10 points
Well the right place in my opinion is the at the place of the esc and the servo. That's mean you will have to place esc and servo to the other side ... Other idea is to change the prop to a reverse one : so you could place the battery pack to the other side of esc and servo. (of course you will have to reverse the rotation of the motor by permuting 2 of the 3 wire between esc and motor)
 MICHAEL 2 points
no i am actually going to do some high powered stuff to this boat. i got a SW 26 BL that will scream about 40 on a 2s lipo.
Tarmo  722 points - 5/21/2010

Hmm, why there are 3 pictures taken at the same angle and no pictures of underside.
 MICHAEL 2 points
the underside of this boats hull is the same as the NTN-400
McDon  32 points - 5/21/2010

I fly planes, no boats yet.

Do boats move in reverse or forward only?

Does a 2.4g computer transmitter and receiver for planes work fine for a boat like this?
 vasy1 605 points
Forward only. SOme others have reverse but not working too well in racing boats, it sinks them.
2.4 from plane can work with limited range.
If it is spectrum you can buy surface marine receiver that will bind to the radio and work well.
 McDon 32 points
What do you mean by "limited range"? I would be using Hitec Aurora9 and an Optima6 receiver if I try out boats. Thanks for response.
 vasy1 605 points
2.4G seems to shadow over water, so you will see surface receivers having much longer antennas compare to their plane counter-parts. I've used hobby king plane radio on the boat and it was good but it also has a long antenna (about 10cm). Take you plane and taxi it, see how long of a range will you get, should be about 75% of that on the water.
 Eric1180 2278 points
The water kinda absorbs the Signal. Because it really doesn't reflect it. thats why 72/75Mhz works great on land/water. If you use a park 2.4Ghz RX you will probably lose signal pretty quick. Make sure to use a full range 2.4ghz
 MICHAEL 2 points
they move both directions depending on the esc. air TX/RX are not good for Surface applications.
nyc863  134 points - 5/21/2010

As a heli addict, are these things still fun after you get them setup and on the water the first day?

they sure look awesome on a shelf though!
 martiman 174 points
It depends . . . have you tried running Fast Electric (FE) boats? I know of guys who have tried (and good at) almost everything RC and ended up content with running boats (electric and gas/nitro powered).

 MICHAEL 2 points
yes they are. boats, cars, and planes are all based on setup. how you want to run depends on what you do. bashing or racing setting it up is half the fun
moller123456  649 points - 5/21/2010

Where is the water intake?
 gungaman 16 points
Looks like the water intake is under the speed controller in the picture.
 zeeek1 514 points
No the intake is on the hull bottom closer to the transom. You can see a little black mark there and the rubber tubing goes all the way around. You can see the tubing on the top left inside.
BEST ANSWER CREDIT AWARDED
 martiman 174 points
That is kinda odd. I don't think you'll get much cooling water from that location. It should be at the aft portion or the rudder.
 Eric1180 2278 points
It's probably a high pressure zone/spot
 MICHAEL 2 points
the pick up tube is on the bottom of the hull on the foot print or beam of the boat

1 thumbs up!
Buena lancha, precio normal.

Hi.
I have no runed this boat a few times. As some other says, the 50a esc fail after 5 minutes of 11,1v run. I have no switch it with a Turnigy marine 60A. I have not nailed it in yet, so its wery unstabel i high speed. I have plans of laying som lead sheets in the bottom in back of the boat. It is plowing to mutch, so some weight in the back is nesesary. The prop is blunt, so I'm going to switsh it with a balansed prop from grimracer.

Received boat, put 2 two cell packs in and after 2 minutes flames came out of the boat due to the poor esc soldering internally. replied to hobbyking about the bad esc which ruined my day with friends and also stated that i have pictures of the burned esc and there reply was for me to ship the item back as if it was my fault the connections were bad after 2 minutes.

The only thing this boat is quality finish, the rest is crap, poor stability, recommended battery is too heavy for the size of the vessel at high speed it tends to sink, too much water enters the telescope despite spending grease regularly , already burned two servants to enter the water. I do not recommend buying this product hobbyking because no one plays good fun. To give you an idea of how bad the boat, the telescope it is on a slope below the float level of the boat, which facilitates the entry of water through the telescope.
