USA warehouse now open. Our USA warehouse is now open! Low cost shipping and an ever growing variety make ordering from the US warehouse even better value!
It went right into the place the same as the stock. I did have to make a mod though to the plastic piece that turns the servo. I drilled out the hole a little but so the traxxas screw would fit through. I cut off the access plastic because there was not enough room for it to turn all the way. Took about a half hour for me to install, and I am very slow.
Great metalgear-servo and it's very strong and relaiable. Good centering and no slack. For my use that's very important. I use it for the elevator on my Cobra dynamic soaring model with great results. The bird has an all up weight of 5kg!
I managed to crash with my tricopter and the first alu gear broke. But turning it 180 and drill a new 1.2mm hole for the stopper pin, and it's in business again. Great strong and fast servo with two life's.
I run this servo in all my Traxxas 1/16 vehicles. It blows any other servo I have tried out of the water. And on my 1/16 Revo I am running dual servos and it is amazing. I recommend this servo to all my friends that have a 1/16 Traxxas vehicle. It's the first thing I change if I get another 1/16 car. And the price and quality is well worth the wait to get it. I hope they start carrying these in the states soon so wait time is less. Plain and simply the best servo for Traxxas 1/16 scale cars and trucks!!!'
Works excellent in Traxxas Mini 1/16 REVOs. I had to trim the little gussets off the top of the mounting plate since the servo mounts upside down in a 1/16 REVO. I also enlarged the mounting holes in the servo slightly to fit in the servo guard/cage/alignment block perfectly.
you can use the horn that is supplied with this servo, just make sure to zero the servo correctly. my advice is to use a hole in the turnigy horn which is of the same length as the stock horn.
Does it fit on Monster Beatle?
I'm from Brazil. It took more than a month to my car get here, and I played only 5 minutes with it. I've hit a wall and the servo died. Now I'm looking for a stronger replacement. Does it fit?
I was wondering anyone use these in a 500 HK or 550 Hk Heli I have been waiting for a Looong time to buy the 500 heli and I am just going to do it for a winter project, would loike these for the cyclic or your suggestions Thanks !!!!
Have used this servo for trottling a 21 glowengine offshore competition boat for 2 years, and also this years World Championchip. A precis, robust and exelent servo. I will do the jobb in your heli.
Thanks Jorge,Jonas,much84 for the input but I still cant seem to find a servo that I like and that is "IN STOCK" at the USA house w/the 500 bird I might just give up and move on to a diffrent winter project!I really like HK 95%of my orders go to them but they should have there s#$t togther by now in the USA house but they don't they are going to loose alot of money if they havent already !!!!
Well, in my my opinion best swash 500class servo is Hitec HS-5245MG. Couple of my friends use them their 500s and they do job well. Other good (or even better because of coreless motor) servo is Savox 1250MG. It's same servo as Align DS510M. Regarding servos from US warehouse I'm curious if Corona DS329HV is worht anything. But anyway, safest option is to buy HS-5245MG or Savox 1250MG.
Heh, above post I wrote myself but from other login LOL *) Well as i wrote Tryin2fly, those two servos are best. Although srom INTL warehouse you can buy HK28013DMG. There are no other "safe" servos. Maybe that Corona would work but I'm not sure for reliability of it.
I have buy 2 of this servos for my funjet ultra,, one of them go smoth and easy to move when i take in servohorn but the other is locked and not move.
both works with the reciver and radio. why are they different, and can i use it in a fast 2500watt funjet/ regards Christoffer
Definitely ok for the Funjet Ultra. Why one can be moved easily and one cannot ,well try switching off your RX while the unmoveable servo arm is out of zero. see if the same still apply. I would not recommend to use any force on a unpowered servo though. If both work when connected, well thats what they will be when you fly. After some use the gears wear in a bit and let you move the rudder surfaces manually, if thats what you like to do.
I have 2 of these, both move easily when off power. They
Hi Trond M, what about long term test of this servo? Are they gain slope in gears? I'm looking for servo which has slope like HS-5085MG or smaller, being faster than Hitec.
Had a search around the net, found nothing for this servo. BUT if you have a Voltmeter, attach to and -, connect your rx abd tx, and move the stick vigorously from extreme to extreme. According to literature an electric motor consumes the most power when stalled/changing direction. If you are brave, you can stall the servo arm whilst measuring the voltage. Should be ok for very short time. Good luck
Is there any replacement gear pack? It's not a cheap servo so it would be great to find replacements for this servo. I have one with the main gear broken (the bigger one).
The servo can fit 1/16 Traxxas vehicles without modification, however you may want to file down the tabs on the mounting flange as I did. This way the servo will sit low, just like the stock unit. As stated, the Traxxas servo horn fits perfectly on this. I've been running this unit longer than any of the stock units survived. Highly recommended over the Traxxas 2080 servo.
I was wondering if anyone knows how much power draw these servos have. I run duel 7.2v 1200 mah NiMH's in my 1/16 traxxas summit. And can it cause the motor to run hot?
I have one of these and I currently run with only one 1200Mah NiMH battery. My motor does not run very hot at all. It seems like the servo takes hardly any power.
Your motor will not run any hotter using this servo. Some people recommend using a BEC, but I have not had ANY problems with it plugged directly into the receiver.
Hi I ordered one of these a week ago and havent heard a thing from HK, ive asked several times in customer support and gotten no replies. The order status has not changed in a week, what gives?
What shipping did you choose and what country are you in? I have had packages that took a little over a week and the tracking numbers didn't work. They all get here, sometimes international shipping is funky though.
I am looking at getting one of these to replace traxxas e revo 1/16 steering servo. Has anybody else tried this combo as it appears to fit from dimensions provided? Is there an aluminium horn option to suit?
Just ordered mine yesterday. Looking at the Traxxas forums this is the best replacement for the MERV (Mini E-Revo Vxl). On the forums they say it fits fine, but if you want to there are two tabs that you can cut off to get a perfect fit.
Mine fit perfectly when I got it... It only took 15 minutes to install and I did no mods at all. Great little servo. Been using it for 3 months now and no problems at all yet.
Im waiting on mine for my 1/16 summit. I have gone through about 7 of the stock 2080 servos. I running one of the Hi-Tech servos right now, but it was a pain in ther butt to mount. I hope this is the last servo I need to purchase for a loooong time.
I got mine 3 days ago and it took me around 5 min to install it on my merv and i love it you dont need to cut anything the taps just makes your servo guard around 1mm taller
Its ether this servo or hi tech if you dont mind paying extra
Justin, how long you use them on 6.6v ? I want to connect A123 (LiFePo4) 2 cells to Futaba R-149 DP 35 Mhz. And plug this servos into this receiver. Does it work stable for long time?
They warm up pretty good on 6.6v. If they are going to be used for long periods of time under heavy loads then I would just get a simple $2 bec. They are kind of pricey servos and is hate for them to burn out on you. But its your call. They do work on 6.6v but I dont use them on 6.6 because of fear of burning them out so I have a ubec.
Quark is much better then Assan and I think I'll change head to fbl and buy microbeast...

Super smooth flow, and easy to install. A MUST for replacing the stock 2080 servo on the 1/16 Traxxas vehicles. I have a 1/16 summit that I am pretty rough on, and this little servo puts up with the abuse!
Those who write that this servo has little slop or no slop in gear are crazy! I've bought 4 pcs of them and all have terrible play in gears. It is so big that won't even try to install them on Bruckmann MX-2 1,3m. Now I've ordered TGY-778MG. I hope they have same little play in gears as TGY-306G in my 450 heli. Although price is too high, 778MG are cheaper and should be better. Defenetely not recommended. Waste of money as most of Bluebird servos.

this is a great servo for my rally 1/16 traxxas.
Excellent quality, equal to the hyperion which costs 8 € more expensive.
