Yes the thrust bearings as well as rotor hub bearings are included. The sizes of rotor hub bearing are 4x7x2.5mm and 4x8x3mm. The size of thrust bearings is 3x8x3.5mm
Yes you can. I bought a few of these as they have quite alot of bits in one package.
Note however that these do not include the rubber dampers that go into the head block itself. If your blade grips have alot of play, you should buy this and re assemble your blade grips and feathering shaft. Also make sure you assemble your thrust bearings correctly.
I had a problem with the grips being "sloppy". Note that I am not a beginner and know what I am talking about. There are several entries about having to use extra shims etc. The problem is as soon as the blades bed in and and you get the slightest compression on the aliminium spacers(about 1 flight is enough), the slop comes back. After trying all sorts of combinations, I finally decided to do some measuring. Now my old thrust bearings were as per the manual... 8mm * 3.5 mm. But the NEW ones (with the smaller ID) are just 7.7mm. Anyone else having "sloppy fit " trouble want to verify this. In addition the Holders themselves have a bigger bore, also by .2mm or so. The combined increase in clearance of these differences is causing the problem, and it most noticable at higher RMP, with little Pitch. Vibration creeps in! I noticed it because I have HK Hughs body kit fitted. This almost destroyed itself when the vibration stated resonating. I have now tracked it down to these parts. HK needs to look into replacing the dies, and tightning up the tolerances on the bearings. Any one else?
hmmm i recently had 2 of these ordered for people and these were fitted with no problems. These guys were intermediate flyers you do 3d like flips ticktock FFF inverted flight backwars etc. all with typhoon 3450 kv 14t pinion on a flat curve 100pcnt No problems.
This part just sold out very short ago. Based on my experience HobbyKing usually gets one shipment of HK450 spare parts per month. So you might be lucky and HK gets it back in stock within a few days or if you're unlucky you need to wait for several weeks. Unfortunately nobody can say for sure. And even HobbyKing will not tell you anything regarding restocking items.
No other parts are needed! This is a direct upgrade to make the head of a HK450v2 a metal head. I also upgraded my first HK450v2 with this part and it's perfect. This metal head is much stronger and has less slop.
Not Happy...
These aren't whats in the photo... These are the grips from the GT450Pro...
Get your act together HK, this will delay a big project for me...
hmmm if you got the 450pro grips that would even be better cause it has bigger bearings. you can use this on v2 and pro its the feathering shaft that has to be changed accordingly.
*Funprise, no, thats the problem I wanted what was in the picture... there not going on helis they are for my range of TriCopters...
*jcmacedo, What? Resolve the matter? Are they going to send me whats in the picture?? I doubt it...
So, now theyve changed the photo to match the product, but Rachel from support claims that the product team said its only been changed to show the product more accurately, they claim it was the v2 grips in the previous photo...
This is a blatant lie...
Anyone who can verify the photo was the gtpro grips and is happy to confirm it here gets a prize from me...
I can confirm that these are in fact V2 Grips. If your refering to the old blue pick with the 3mm shaft. That was in fact a V1 grip initially mislabled by hk as VK2. All V2 grips have 4mm feathering shafts. All V3 has 4mm but longer shaft with bigger bearings. The Picture above is indeed v2. If you need to make the item work with your 3mm application then all you need is to purchase the bearings.
I understand what you saw were the 3mm ones and thats why it wont work for you.
No, I want someone who saw the old photo and can confirm that it was the GTPro grips that were in the photo previously, this photo was changed last week to what is seen now... I ordered what I saw in the photo, it just was that they had the wrong photo for the v2 grips.
I agree that the photo now shown is the v2 grips...
Rachel from Support is telling that it was the v2 grips before last week...
This is simply not true...
Though I hadn't taken a screenshot of the page, so Im relying on someone else (other than my mates who know the photo was wrong) to back me up...
Its just really p^&sing me off that for a $13 part (2x) they are lying to me... Anthony just does what ever the h*ll he wants cuz he knows people keep coming back...
I have just found pretty much everything I need on another suppliers page and unless I get a simple credit for the grips, Im going there instead (even though the other supplier is slightly more expensive)
I canceled an order on [2] sets of these since some claimed they were so horrendously made, they needed 2 sets just to get one! So the Q is: Quality... yes/no? To be answered by anyone who's beyond beginner, can the blades be tracked throughout the range with these and is the cavity thru length of grips true and perpendicular with outer barrel? Thanks
Inner bearings are in so tight that you have to heat the grip to remove them. HK doesn't carry the 4x7x2.5 bearings to replace these but you can use the same size bearings for the Gaui www.link
Okay, here's what's going on with this fiasco:
You get [2] PRODUCT ID: GT003 black plastic blades in the box and those are for a multi-rotor head. They will not lift this thing, you will need to adjust headspeed upwards beyond what "milk container" [see files section] grips will support. Maybe 2000rpm, They will let go, you or an observer WILL be injured, seller hides in NEW ZEALAND, laughing his teets off at your stupidity! They cannot be sued but make SURE you sign the waver at checkout. Napstr is an employee.
"the Micro Electric R/C Model Helicopter Ebook" can be googled.
I'll GIVE ya the damned thing! These people are thieves!!! When you endanger people's LIVES or FAMILIES for the sake of a fawking BUCK, you need at least a spanking. The entire purchase goes to Paypal dispute until I'm satisfied, this text has been cut & pasted and will be reposted again until you get it right. Do not sell incomplete products requiring MORE parts purchases so you can screw hookers, that's nonsense. Metal grips had to be purchased yet seller didn't ship correct blades with unit to begin with, thus guaranteeing further income for himself... this is a very low and dishonest practice. Recommend buyers of this place CHANGE their email addresses so you don't get the notifications at 3am and the qty. is zero. Now that I've seen the boxed parts, the truth can be added to the Ebook. Paypal dispute...
good one homo buy a cheep heli then dont do any recommended mods to it and then moan ass off cause it ***ed out, supplied blades are basically to make it look like a heli while you build up,i too have a cheepy $27 450 and yes did cheep mods required to fix heli and guess what?!It flies fine, its a case of read the reveiws and take note of what others say, its generally from experience not just tryin to make you buy upgrades,it was 27 bucks did you really think it would be a minter,feroza11 NZ,
Based on my experience they restock it usually once per month. I bought this as an upgrade for my HK450v2 a few months ago. It was on backorder at that time as well and I had to wait for approx. 20 days before new stock arrived. But you should really buy it while it's on backorder, because as soon as new stock arrives it will be gone in a very short time. Then you would have to wait for another month. But that's the same for all the popular HobbKing items, they never have enough stock to last more than a few days.
No, the pro has different ball links and a longer feathering shaft. Hobbyking has the correct set for the pro version. Just search for the product ID: GT450pro-102. Unfortunatly it is currently out of stock...
Thrust bearings are designed for high load applications, you want them in your blade grips. They work just like normal ball bearings but won't jam under pressure. Make sure you grease them.
Yes, i got mine a few weeks ago. Everything you see on the picture is included. It works perfect as an upgrade for my HK450v2 from the plastic to the metal blade grips.
yes it does but its not exacly the same as the pic it looks like the pro version with the longer ball links
but it has the short ball links and its way better than the plastic ones it comes with all you need

Is the photo accurate or not? By my figuring, there are AT LEAST two dampeners and one bearing missing in the photo, and some people have said the f-shaft isn't included while others have said it is... what's the truth???
Nothing is missing, everything needed is included. I ordered this item two month ago, I received everything you see on the picture (including the 4mm V2 feathering shaft). The dampeners are not part of this item, as they are part of the main rotor head holder. All 4 bearings plus the two thrust bearings are also included in this set.
Does anyone know what size feathering shaft this uses? I've seen 3mm and 4mm for the 450's so I need to know what this one is to make sure I can use it. Thanks.
This one comes with a 4mm feathering shaft. I upgraded my HK450 V2 with these metal blade grips. They fit and work perfect! Besides the upgrade I now have a spare 4mm feathering shaft, which is always good.
Thanks guys, I noticed later after I already posted, that the main rotor is still made of metal even on the plastic head version, so I should have known.
Well made and they perfectly fit to Carson Tyrann 450.
Came with all mounting accessiories, like in the picture EXCEPT FEATHERING SHAFT!!! This is the reason for 4 stars. HK please include it or change the foto!
If you are going to use this for the 450 V2 you might want to order 2 of them. I couldn't get it to tighten enough to keep the grips from wiggeling. Luckly I accidently ordered two of them. So I used the shems and washers from the second set and it snugged right up. Very well machined parts and they work great.
I used this set to upgrade my HK450v2 to a metal head. Just follow the original T-Rex 450 SE V2 manual on how to install the parts (especially the thrust bearing).
