Not necessary at all. You can use PVC tape (electric isolator type), the only catch is that it won't last long. Checking the tape insulation sould be part of the pre-flight check.

You can remove shrink tube with a cutter, cutting parallel to the wire, carefully, not deep. Then take it from one edge with a small clamp and pull it (I'm not sure that's the name of the tool in english, in spanish is "pinza").

As long as the wire don't touch you'll be fine... just use sticky tape for now.
