This Retract/Under-carriage door control unit offers adjustable delay sequencing between your retracts and servo powered gear doors for both the up and down positions and also end point adjustment for up to 3 servos. Simply plug into the gear channel of your RX, plug your retracts and doors into the unit and set up via 4 buttons on the reverse of the sequencer which also features a large, easy to read LED display.
Weight: 11g Input: 1 servo Channel. Output: 3 Channels (retracts and 2 x doors) Dimensions: 57x25x10 Includes Instructions
The device does not always remember the operating mode when powered back on. I set it to F2, power down, and when I reconnect it, sometimes it flashes F1, sometimes F2. If it says F1 and I change it to F2, it does remember the end points previously set. I ordered two as a hedge against malfunction, but they both seem to do this.
I have bought this and can't seem to get it to work. At least the delay between the function of the gear and the door. I have an FMS 1700 P-51 and am trying to get the inner gear doors to open then the landing gear to open then the inner doors to close as on the full scale P-51. I have it on Function 2 but can seem to get the inner doors to open and stay until the gear comes down. Anybody have a video besides the HK one that really does not help.
Have you switched On/off quickly for 3 times using tx switch?
The system has to be armed.
When connect the servo wire you have to hear an electrical signal from the servo. That confirms the correct polarity
Try reversing your servo fuction in your TX
Maybe your sequencer "thinks" you are retracting the gear?
If not try setting the timers for gear and doors the other way arround.
I set up the servo movement and delays. Turned off. After second turn on its just flashing F.1 and do nothind. After some time it stop flashing ang starts working, but not every time. Why? When its not flashing it works fine
What you need to do is cycle your retract switch 3 time when first turning on your radio system in order for the retracts to work. This is a safety feature. I use this system on many of my aircraft.
31 days to arrive from dispatch time even though supposedly sent from UK to UK. Tried setting it up inc the cycling tx retract switch 3 times in quick sucession and still display flashing it's pretty pants as far as I can see, another HobbyKing item for the bin.

I just tried to install this in my V7 FMS P-51 but I can't get the doors to open or close far enough. I have the travel each way set to 150. Any other ideas?
Is it possible to use this sequencer with 2 servoless retracts so one gear starts to retract before the other? I have the starmax P-47 and want a more scale look by delaying one of the main gear retracts. It does not have gear doors.
I would say yes - no reason why not, as you could treat the second retract as a 'door' and work it that way. I will give it a try tomorrow on a set of legs I have here.
Ha! I had one on my table - forgot I left it loose! Just connected it up to my Eurofighter main gear - works fine. One connected to 'gear' and the other to 'door1' on the unit. Flick the gear switch on the TX - one gear starts, then the other follows slightly after. The timing can be adjusted of course to suit, but I have this one set for the gear and doors on my Lander Hunter EDF.
Ham75, there is no need for one of these to just delay on retract. You can do it with the "Turnigy 3 channel servo speed/direction Regulator".
See this video:- www.link
Fully read the manual, powered this item up and the LED lights flash continuously. I have presses Func 1 and 2 buttons at the same time and also the and - buttons. Whatever I do, the flashing will not stop and there is no output to servos. Any ideas before I RMA this?
Cheers.
at first time you have to program (read the manual first)once the program is done, you have to move quikly the switch of gear on tx 3 times (down,up,down) after this the display stop blink wich means the device is ready, and once again move the gear switch, tou have see the gear respond properly to that.
NO. you mean "Turnigy 3 Channel Servo Speed/Direction Regulator"
This will operate the retract and geardoor(s) in a programmable order. For example: gear down sequence: open door; wait, lower gear, wait, close door; gear up; open door, wait, retract gear, wait, close door. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhQwH00RRc0
The “Turnigy 3 Channel Servo Speed/Direction Regulator” will make the speed more realistic (less slapstick)
would this work for 4 wheel steering on a rock crawler if not can someone point me into the right direction trying to find the right program box to get 4 wheel steer to work for all crab steer, rear lock out, and pin point steering
Don't really understand why you need this item on a rock crawler... This stuff allow to sequence the openening of the landing gear doors for plane, i.e. when you open you first open the door and then open the landing gear, when you close, you first close the landing gear and then the door.
To do what you want, you should be able to mix differents channels on your tx...
hi, GUYS IT SEEMS THAT THE NEW ONES HAVE a diferent value settings, I have 1 older version and 1 new version, I havr tried to set up the unit as per instruction manual, but no go . I have a 10cag Futaba and 617 rec. I can set the values but nothing happens in running mode, should I adj the end points??? Barry
Hello,
Just Received the sequencer. Unfortunately i am Not able to Switch to Running Mode. I am using a futaba t8fg transmitter and an orange rx Receiver.
Nothing happens when i switch the gear switch 3 times quickly.
thanks for help in advance
should I use one sequencer per landing gear leg? or... will the sequencer provide enough current for three electric retract units? The units I use are the 54gram large for 4.6kg model. I believe each electract unit draws about 1 amp under full load. Can the sequencer switch 3 amps without burning out? Anyone burn one yet?
My sequencer is powering up 3 servos. One for the gear and two for the doors. NO PROBLEMS!! It has the same traces internal that your receiver does and should be able to handle up to 5 servos if they do not all deadhead at once.
set up the switch on the TX...reverse it if the switch is oriented so that the gear is down...when the switch is back. (that is my preference)...the sequencer launches one servo at a time. Switch the TX to gear down. plug in two spare servos...watch which one launches (starts to move) first, when you move the tx switch. the one that goes first plug the retract into. The gear comes up. the next servo will launch when the gear reports it's full movement and shuts off. The second servo to move is the connection for the door servo(s)
Neat display works as described. First tried F1 program mode. After fiddling with every possible settings, I could not get mine to even raise (or lower) the gear. It would do one, but not the other. Fiddled with settings from 700 (min) all the way to 2400 (max), on the retract channel (2&3). Plugged in various servos (analog and digital) in the retract channel, gear goes up but not down, or viceversa. Used both a FASST receiver and a servo tester as input, no luck. I assume the electronics is just faulty. A disappointment.
Yes it does exactly that.I used mine on FMS B25 which has large u/c doors which are not to scale. So cut slot in door for when leg is down, and then have doors close again. It looks much neater
seems it is an Assan product, but Assan does not deliver it anymore, strange

bought one to replace the one that came with my FMS 1400mm Corsair. Took a bit of time to figure out the manual, but it works perfect. I think Ill buy a servo speed controller to make it look like scale speed.

Absolutely great door sequencer and once setup realy impressive, only down side is that the servo's jitter slightly at the end of the travels so quality is a little suspect ! so only 3 crowns, overall rating is 4 as it is a bit on the chunky side so value has lost a crown for these two reasons. If you bought in the UK you would be well pi***ed off as you would have paid a fortune for these but as they are so cheap they are great value for the money and do the job, could have done with a case to tidy them up but hey 'Quality' and 'Cheap' are not two words used together ! Great job HK Thanks

Received and tested sequencer today in mode F1. I had to adjust the delay 2. Easy to program, but the manual could have been a little more detailed. As security, you must move the switch for the landing gear 3 times before the sequencer is active. It was good. It worked perfectly, and I will use it in Habu 32.

So far so good, the unit seems to work very well but the instructions leave a little to be desired. I could not get mine to work initially until i decoded the part that tells you to cycle your retract switch 3 times to arm the system. this is to prevent the gear moving about the moment you turn on the model. A nice feature, but its annoying and i would like to turn it off...but cant. So far i have not installed it in a model but it seems to work fine on my test rig, i will order more soon.
