TIP: Before suspecting your CDI ignition of being faulty, please ensure you have the spark-plug socket pushed all the way over the spark-plug head. In some cases this is extremely tight and requires alot of pressure.
ignition CDI for DLE 30. Will the replacement CDI ignition for RCG 50CC engines work for this. It looks like the RCG modual does not have the pickup lead for the rotating magnet on the DLE 30
At first I thank you for answer. I know the nitro engines don't use a spark. There is another princip. But some nitro engines is possible to rebuild to gas. It requires to assembly a sensor with magnet on the shaft to identify a position of the piston. The sensor sends a signal to ignition to generate ignition spark. Yes, before you have to replace the glow with spark - technically it is possible to do it. I already saw rebuilded nitro engines to gas, but I am not sure it this offered ignition system is the right. But 35 USD is not too much to try it ...:o)
Hi All
I'm new to electric ignitions... I have quite a few glow engines... By using and electronic ignition, with a flick of a switch will it start? stupid question I know. Thanks Dean.
No, you still have to flick start the prop like a glow engine. I make sure the ignition is off, flick the engine over 5 times, turn the ignition on, then put choke on. The engine should fire up for a short burst, then stop. Then turn choke off and flick start. It should then run. Make sure the throttle is set to idle before all of above.
