Outside diameter of wire gauges listed below are as follows with a tolerance of /- .1mm. 8AWG = 6.5MM 10AWG = 5.5MM 12AWG = 4.5MM 14AWG = 3.5MM 16AWG = 3.0MM 18AWG = 2.8MM (294 count .08 conductor) 18AWG = 2.3MM (150 count .08 conductor) 20AWG = 2.0MM 22AWG = 1.7MM 24AWG = 1.6MM (6.5AMPS) 10MM Heatshrink for 8AWG 6MM Heatshrink for 10-12-14 and 16AWG. 6mm shrinks to 2.8mm (measured while posting) 4MM Heatshrink for 18-20AWG 3MM Heatshrink for 22-24AWG

how many volts can this wire handle?i want to attach these to a 4 pin molex connector then wire them up to a toggle switch with a set of Turnigy High Density R/C LED Flexible Strip-Red on the other end for a PC lighting project i want to do. My power supply is rated at 620W if that helps. thanks

I Used this wire to connect over 2 metres of the high density led lights using a 3 cell lipo without any issues at all, super bright. hope this helps.

Those wires will easily handle the voltage of the power supply, what will limit you will be the amps. I would not go over 4 amps continuous with this cable. Anyway, this should be more the enough for PC lighting.******** Those led strips consume 0.4A (amps) at 12V, so you can connect up to about 10 of them without any major problems

ampere rating??

AWG#24 ~0.2mm^2
-> 4...5 A countinuous
it's a problem of temp by heat dissipation !
w/ the silicon insulation you can go even higher, depends on the conditions around, but keep in mind, that you'll get voltage loss of ~0.5V per meter at this current level.

4...5 continous, well I am thinking about using AWG 24 for 1s 240 maH (like for Parkzone micro SU 26 or Blade mSR).
 Trance183 850 points
I use this on the 1s 240mah that HK sells. Although its small I think its too big of a wire. Even 26AWG from servo wire is a little too big. I think HK needs to sell 28AWG and 30AWG silicon wire if thats even possible?
 PappaNiklas 7 points
According to the spec for AWG25 the "Maximum amps for chassis wiring" is 3.5A (according to "Handbook of Electronic Tables and Formulas") and i have used it for 6A short periodes whithout any problem

Good soft wire. Good for smaller "servo" connections.
