HK-450TT PRO 3D Torque-Tube Helicopter Kit (Align T-Rex Compat.)
HK-450Pro CCPM 3D Electric Helicopter Kit (Align T-rex Compatible) Modeled on the famous and proven Align T-Rex 450Pro. Take a close look at the head and tail of this awesome machine. It's ultra light, yet rigid design is strong enough for even the most skitzophrenic of 3D helicopter pilots! This is the Torque Tube (TT) version. Utilising a drive shaft for the tail, rather than a belt, making it more efficient in flight.
This is a FULL 450 Pro. All components are newly designed. Unlike other vendors, this helicopter DOES NOT share parts with previous versions. It is completely new.
When comparing helicopters, carefully look at the tail and head unit. Although our head block and blade grips are a slightly different design from the Trex 450 Pro, this is purely aesthetic. They are fully compatible with Trex 450 Pro parts.
Features: Newly designed head block with high rigidity and stability. Single piece integrated design of main bearing block and servo mount. Single piece integrated design of anti-rotation guide and gyro mount. Single piece integrated landing gear. Highly stable flybar control system. High precision bearing mixing arms. Newly designed high resolution swashplate. Single piece battery mount with integrated canopy mount designed to bring CG closer to disk plane. Highly rigid frame with single piece carbon side and bottom plates. Highly efficient shaft driven tail design. Weighted tail rotor blade grips to repel centripetal forces. Straight-up in-frame rudder servo mount for improved geometry. Newly designed aerodynamic canopy. Newly designed high strength main blade grips.
J'ai commencé* avec cet hé*lico, et vraiment un super hé*lico de dé*but.... *-) avantage compatible avec les piè*ces align et facilement upgradable. Pour le prix gé*nial.
I was searching for same answer few months ago ! . Align fuselage can be used with 450 PRO with some modding . Pro have single hole for landing gear in the middle and the fuselage have 2 holes for installation . So you need some piece of plywood and they can be used to install PRO into the fuselage. You can find Videos easily on youtube !
I'll tell you a secret and then after I type it up and it's on the web anyone else that reads this can steal the idea and say they came up with it. I'm only saying this because I've heard so many people say that this hole was stripped here and this was stripped out there, blah blah blah..... what you need to do if you come across the screw that is very tight. Is first get out your 60 watt or higher soldering iron and set it on about 800 degrees. Hold on the hex bolt or screw head for about 20 seconds on this temp setting. You should at this point be able to wrench it out easily. Clean the threads up and then reapply loctite when you reassemble it. The stock hardware is fine. Just follow this procedure. Enough said.
hey guys i just bought this heli but i should of asked this question first lol um the screws in this heli are they the **** plastic metal ones or are they guality strong cheers i will credit you :)
Hi nitro,
The screw set is made of both metal phillips screws and hex screws. Quality is questionable, best would be to always use quality screw drivers not to strip them. Alternatively buy an Align screw pack.

definately torque tube, belts tend to rob the main rotor power as they need to be under a reasonable amount of tension so they dont slip on the output shaft teeth, torque tube is smooth and less demanding on the main rotors
21g-30g servo ..
somewhere in the size range of Size: 35.5 x 15 X 28.6mm....
always look for something that have a fast response speed example :0.07-0.05sec and Torque * 6.0V: 2.3 kg-cm - 3kg-cm
use form tape to eliminate vibrations when mount gyro... ESC at either side of the heli under the main gear which i find it's better b'cos of the cooling factor same goes to the receiver. Remember to use cable tie as well, you won't want them to came loose when you're in mid air..
na klar hat er das. Er ist schließlich extrem gut aufgebaut und hat auch Carbon wo man nur hinschaut. Gutes Stück ist das allerdings achtung auf die Rädchen!
my kit came with the push rods no servos though, as far as i know there is only this kit that comes with every thing except the electronics and remote that you have to provide yourself.
ok so i was realy wondering this and im sure alot of people have wondered this but whats the difference(is there a difference?) between this and the align version that cost like $400 compared to $60?
Project cost, quality control in manufacturing and use of better materials are some of the differences that justify the price. Remember, HK 450 it´s a clone, and T Rex is "original".
in pratice, clones like hk are not made to do 3d flights even been projected to do. If you wanna do hard flights like 3d you should buy a original one. To begginers, hk450 would be very nice. Don´t forget about the torque tube on this model. This config is much more destructible in crashes.
This bird will be fine for hard use after replacing a few things like shafts and bearings and screws that get removed a lot with higher quality parts. No need to spend $$$ on Align kit.
I set it down on the tail and stripped the shaft drive gears and touched a blade down. The main and feathering shafts are soft and bend easy
The drive gear for the shaft is just a little smaller in diameter than Align. I had to s****e around where it goes into the bearing sleeve with a knife and then sand it to g
Hello, the helicopter is a variant which is favorable to get in the Modellsport. Gentle 3D flying is possible, but not more. You should after and after parts by original Align replace parts. The swash plate falls apart like to time. It is a clone.
You need a motor, esc, 3 cyclic servos, a tail servo, a gyro, some batteries with and a charger.
You will likely need connectors for the batteries, esc and motor.
And spare parts if you don't have a good LHS.
At least some main shafts, feathering shafts, blades and spare gear sets for both ends of the shaft. A spare servo or gear set wouldn't hurt. I spent a lot of time waiting between crashes until I built up an inventory of spares and I live where Amain's HQ is LOL!
The motor and esc depends
Im planing to do scale bird with this kit. I have floating 4 blade rotor head but my tail has not enough authority. Shall i go for smaller pinion and reduce head speed or i should change the kit to belt drive?
Set the tail neutral position to mid of the tail shaft. then off the heading hold of the gyro through ur TX. and start the helli slowly compensating the rudder as required. then there will be a point that tail is almost still when you hover. then make a not of the amount you compensate your rudder stick and adjust the tail servo to give that same amount of rudder. Once you do this set the gyro to heading hold mode and there should be enough control over your rudder. make sure to adjust the rudde
yes bobs videos are the best place to learn anything about a heli or elecrtonic... btw if you dont have an account i strongly recommend making one its the best place in the internet for helis
Loosen the boom block screws and pulls right out....after disconnecting the linkage hopefully.
In fact, I still need to pin my boom before I get to the throw it around stage, I've heard they can get tossed out of the block in violent piros unless pinned.
Take those screws all the way out after removing the rear top servo tray screws and swinging the tray down clear and the whole boom block is in your hand, which you will be doing because if you so much as touch the tail rotor to anything you wil
Hello, this is easier to set up as a belt, but the most teething bevel gears in contact with the ground. It is purely a matter of taste, whether belt or torktube.
This heli takes 9 or 10 gram servo's and you can use any gyro you want although heading hold gyro is recommended. ESC depends on motor choice but 35 - 40 amp is generally a good choice.
Other specs like speed and torque aside you want to make sure that the cyclic servos are close in size to the HXT900 and the tail is close to an Align DS520.
They might be a pain to mount if not.
yes this is a body only you should buy 1- motor Turnigy Typhoon 450H 2218H Heli Motor 3450kv (450 class) for heli 450 type 2- esc 40 A for heli TowerPro H40A Brushless Speed Controller 3- esc card programming for easy way TowerPro H-Type ESC Program Card $4.96 4- Battery 2200 mA 3s 25 C 5- pitch gauge Turnigy R/C Helicopter Pitch Gauge $1.49 6- training gear for the biginner Training Gear for 450 Class Helicopter 7- servo HXT 900 (no. 3) 8- servo HobbyKing 929MG Metal Gear Ser
*Moustafa Man you have really come up with a good list! But in case of battery i think you should go for 30C Battery and not 25C Because motor might just not get enough Torque to work on its full power.
thanks Moustafa, thanks for your feed back, i got what you suggested. can i ask what radio, receivers, and other things your using? im new to heli world and i was told there are 2 modes when you fly.(switchable on the remote)one when the motor stays the same rpm (high) and you control the pith of main blades, and another when the pitch stays the same and you control motor speed. what controls that function on the heli is it a little computer or does the gyro do that for heli's?
You forgot a gyro! Include this in your cart: Battery low voltage alarm, servo mounts, cable ties 60mm long, threadlock medium strength. Since you are getting training legs, I suppose you are new to this. I strongly suggest that you get spare feathering shafts, main shafts, wooden 325mm blades, tail boom, flybar rods. Another advice is to go for the HK-450 Pro Belt-driven because the Torque tube adds extra cost when repairing.
ya man i got the gyro and i dont feel the need for those other parts just yet because this is probably going to get trashed any way and i feel that once i get good on this one ill buy another and start from fresh where all that stuff will be more important.
Hey that's not the spirit. If you do that you won't survive very long in this hobby. It's not like a playstation or iphone, that you buy a new model every 6 months! The point of rc hobby is to build, love your model, have fun, crash, repair...
Well I know that Thier tricky
To fly sometimes and I want to get all the experience and testing out of one and let that one get messed up then once i get good I'll get another and baby that one and be prepared for what ever having experience already. It makes sense for me to do that because I want to send up a nice camera eventually and if I use a beat up old air frame with messed up components not knowing i can loose every thing up there.
A decent simulator will save you a lot of crashes too. Not all of them though.
A good one is a bit spendy and a bad one doesn't model reality well enough to give you the feel.
ok so i just got this model heli, what are some good suggestions on servos, gyro's and motors? i want to get a powerful motor to carry a camera and live feed unit. my buddy has a align motor he said he would give me i was wondering if it would work?
Thanks for responding. But I can't find any reference to ****link ? Hobby Kink must have several good quality servos for 450 size helicopters, but I cant find them.
Torque tube Pros: if you intend to use a scale fusalage like the Hughes 500 from HK, Torque tube types are very convinient and easy to install and maintenance. Torque tube Cons: the gears are very fragile. once your tail blade hits a stone, there is a possibility that the gears will break.
if you're a novice, go to the belt, it' cheaper and will fly even with a damange boom, but the torque tume is maintence free, don't have the problem of tension, but will vibrate a lot if the tail boom or the torque tube twist in a bad landing, even if the tail blade don't hit the ground
Be aware, this is a JIT item that will take longer than 5 days. I have been waiting for the shipment of this for last 2-3 weeks. Not impressed at all. What can I do to get a more accurate information? What can be done to expedite this shipment?
well..this product is JIT Item...that mean the good is at second warehouse...but i made order for HK-450TT PRO 3D Torque-Tube Helicopter Kit (Align T-Rex Compat.) at 26/11/2011 and shiped at 1/12/2011 , 5 days from order date to shiped...just like the JIT order write...3 - 5 days
I got aheli like this i put it togethere after learning form the net but stil i have aproblem it shifts left , if i trim it it make atrining saund and bends right nearley turens over . the swash plate is leveled ? what can it be ???
Overall I'm very impressed with this kit. It is a pro frame and tail with a sport head. The head has virtually no slop, the frame is carbon fiber, and the torque tube runs perfectly. The blades are fiberglass, not carbon fiber, but well balanced. I'm using a turnigy 2836 motor, plush 40 ESC, Turnigy 3A UBEC, HXT MG-14 servos for cyclic, HK401b for a gyro plus Futaba 9257 tail servo. With this setup, it flies very smoothly. The servos all fit perfectly without any mods. The ESC did fit underneath the battery tray eventually, but it was tight. The build went smoothly with a few exceptions. First one of the holes for the ball links in the outer swash ring was stripped. I was able to salvage the swashplate by using a black screw and a nut (needed some grinding) that normally attaches the head to the main gear to attach the ball link to the outer swash. Second, loctite was not always used in the pre-assembly, so I would highly recommend checking every screw and reloctiting. Third, the thrust bearings were not greased (I've yet to see thrust bearings come greased in any kit). Fourth, washers were not included which are needed to attach the servos to the servo mounts. Fifth, the tail is secured to the tail boom with a pin which is very difficult to remove without dissassembling the tail. Sixth, there is very little clearance from the ball link on the tail servo to the bottom of the boom mount. This heli does not need any major modifications or align parts to be fliable,
It is flying very stable and the stock blades are good enough! The Main gear assebly has a bumpy barrel! It would be better with hexagon screws in the rotor head! But overall i am very impressed of it!! I've made about 15 flights and i have nothing to complain!!

2 thumbs up!
Very impressed , flies just as good as (Align). Great price, Hobbyking's shipping is GREAT, my order left Hong Kong on the 4th , in my hands on the 6th (Florida, U.S.A ).
My only complaint is the parts arent on the website yet , and HK needs to stock lots more in USA warehouse.
