Quanum RTR Bomb System 1/6 scale Plug-n-Drop

Quanum RTR Bomb System 1/6 scale Plug-n-Drop

Ready to drop!
The Quanum R/C bomb system can be installed in minutes and is triggered by a spare servo channel in your receiver.
The bomb release mechanism uses a double hook system with a taper to positively release the bomb each and every time! The bomb is made from a super tough nylon so it wont break easily.
The kit also includes a spare release plate so you can make your own bomb of any shape/size.
You can fill the bomb with fine powder such as chalk to create that perfect explosion effect on impact.
An excellent addition to any .25 size or larger R/C plane.

The quanum R/C bomb has become so popular it has been reviewed on many non-r/c sites and forums as a cool must-have gizmo!
Take a look at gizmodos blog: http://gizmodo.com/5455278/remote-control-bomb-system-tests-your-powers-of-restraint

just set this up, anyway we filled up a small bag up with petrol and then put it inside the bomb and dropped it into a a bonfire(took about 15 attempts) anyway when we finally did it. It dropped in and made a pretty cool fireball. we are editing the video and we will upload in the next few days i will post the link when we do.

Sounds cool! I look forward for that video! :)

Will this work with a bixler or is it too big and heavy?
 Redstorm 2 points
This works fine with the Bixler 2. Not sure about the Bixler 1, I Think it will work.

 jet72 281 points

No, we drop the bombs empty, because iy you put flour inside, its brokes. We detonate in the field at the same time we drop the bombs from the planes. If you like, look for in youtube "pajaros de guerra la batalla del pucara" or in Vimeo "pajaros de guerra mision esperanza" to understand better.

Ali, we used for represent a WWII attac with 12 planes. Some of them have a quanum bomb. In the field we install fireworks.

If your bomb breaks use a nerf whistler football. It whistles or screeches really louder and louder until it thumps loudly on the ground. It's so much fun and people love it. You can even have dropping contests. Just cut the part off the broken bomb where it attaches to the release mechanism and hot glue it on the football. Mine actually came with an extra attachment.

how would you mount eggs or water bombs on this
planning on peeing off the neighbours.
 Cooper 5 points
youd throw them not drop them off a plane.
 Tran Nguyen Minh 43 points
don't use the bomb, use the plastic one (have 3 hole on it), make you own bomb (eggs, water, chili.....) then prop and RUN =))

Use the extra pad to hot glue onto a nerf howler football. It makes an awesome scream on the way down. We know what it sounds like when boms fall away from a plane from movies, but I bet you don't know what it sounds like to be on the other side of things untill you do this. Great fun.

Very interesting piece, this Bomb System! Now we hold competitions on bombing in circles on the earth, as in a target. We think to enter this exercise into the obligatory program of competitions.

Well, good luck mate. I got an allert last week that they had arrived, placed my order only to see the item never get listed as 'In stock'!!! Wrote to CS only to have 'Cheva' tell me that HK had not ordered enough units to fill all orders....BAH!!!!!

that sounds really cool, but mine is just a Parkzone. the bomb would be as big as my fuselage!
 LaserBeam 744 points
Hiya, this is the only size available, i blelieve, although it comes with a release catch that you can stick to any bomb size you like. The Quanum Bomb System is suited to a 1.4metre wingspan or bigger. But im attempting to fit 1 or 2 to the P-51Dmustang (960mm wingspan). It is too big but if i move the bombs nearer to the wingtips and place them near the leading edge of the wing, they just about fit the mustang. The fins on the bomb's tail just hit the ground. It comes with a pice of preshaped plastic so as you don't have to use their bomb, you can make up your own to the correct style and use the plastic pice to bind it to the release mechanism.

someone has too buy the bomb then the comp restocks
 JETFIREaz 199 points
it will be back in stock in january the system works by someone buys a backordered bomb right?then they restock i have previously purchased 8bombs on the 18 so they will restock within 17~30daysJETFIREaz :) have fun) contact me if you want to know any thing thanks
 LaserBeam 744 points
Hiya JonKrosby. You were correct. These Quanum Bombs were in stock in January and it looks like they all sold in 2 weeks. Definatley BACKORDER these my friend. They are really affordable and come with a little manual and the STICKERS that make the bomb look the business. So many people want these that they will be back in stock but if you dont backorder them the chances of actually geting them are greatly reduced. They are really cool, i have to say. And the best bit is they come with a bracket
 Compa 35 points
just backorder it and you will get it first when it comes available
 bhamurculu 40 points
The backorder period is informed to be max. 35 days or something like that. I have paid for it and have been waiting almost for 2 months. It has been shown as Backorder since that time. And HK writes "Stock usually arrives every 10-25 days". I wish they were acting more serious on such things.
 Vernon 19 points
No way to know. They come in stock & sell immediately. You should go to the bomb page & click on the "Email me when available" button. I did that maybe 2 weeks ago, they emailed me last week that they were in stock. I ordered 5 immediately & they arrived today. Now they show no stock on the site & in back order status.
Just click on the button I told you & order immediately when they notify you, & you should succeed in getting some. Don't order anything from them that they show in back order s

hey!

which servo lead do I need?

willem
 JETFIREaz 199 points
the regular sevo mostly prefered ultra lite version
 Vernon 19 points
You don't necessarily need a servo lead. It comes with an inbuilt servo with its own lead protruding from the unit. It's a generic version of the JR standard servo lead & will plug straight into an unused channel of your Rx. You might use a JR style extension lead if the supplied lead isn't long enough.
willembalder  21 points - 9/24/2010

hey!

I would like to install one between the landing gear of my phoenix rainbow. the plane weights 1800 gram. is that possible, or is this bomb to heavy? I hope you can help me.

 EVGAME 23 points
I have these goods and I consider, that it is a season super-hit! We in our club have organised interesting competitions, a throwing of these bombs in a circle. All are very happy!
 willembalder 21 points
hey!

thanks, but you hvae the same plane like me?

willem
 JETFIREaz 199 points
have a check on the website bomb page and estimate what size is your plane if its size 25 or up than its sutible
 Vernon 19 points
The bomb is not that heavy, it's just bulky. It's hollow and waiting for you to stuff it full of powder for effect. Can't recall the actual weight, but I'm sure it's on the web page.

 Vernon 19 points
I've bought them twice in that time. All been sent to me. I won't order anything they don't have in stock due to the many reports like yours I've seen on so many items on this page. Have you used the "Email me when they're in stock" button on the bombs page. They answered mine only a few days ago & I ordered five immediately. They are apparently on their way to me & I think the web page is now indicating a stock of -18. I think you're wasting your time just expecting them to be in stock & not as

The price for the complete set and the price for a spare bomb is the same. why?
 Riotnuts 529 points
cost is the same
 EVGAME 23 points
I think, that it is an error. Recently I have bought two such bombs in a full set at the price of 9,99$ everyone. EVGAME
 JETFIREaz 199 points
its a gliche when you put in your basket the spare bomb cost at least 5.00 USD and the complete sytem costs 9.99USD
Bill  18 points - 5/19/2010

What is the best way to mount the release mech to the wing??
 crawlspace 69 points
I used double sided foam tape, it holds well to plastic covering. I also painted it to match the plane
 Robert 21 points
Thin double sided tape. AND a couple small pieces of soft side velcro approx a quarter inch to each side of the attachment points will take out the wobble of the bomb but not effect the drop.
 Blind Vision 437 points
I tried out double sided carpet tape, but that did not stick to EPP. -then i added UHU POR to the concatct surface, the are now stuck for good.
Andraz  223 points - 1/29/2010

maybe someone should put nitroglicerin in it, that'll make it go boooom *P

No, no dont put that in it, insted fill it with flower or similar powder to see some efect when it hits the ground

Have fun and play safe :D
 alan 3 points
i found talcom powder to work better than flour its lighter
sweetpea  27 points - 1/23/2010

I cut all the tabs off and glued magnets in place to hold the bomb together. Splits apart alot easier now.
 Blind Vision 437 points
very good idea, but how do you get them (the 2 shells) to hold, mine cracks and splinters - 2 drop (non load) and they where broken to bits.

12 thumbs up!
A cheap solution to custom bomb drops. The bomb itself is well made and painted and looks the part. The release is mechanical and is driven by a turnigy micro servo that has been pre-installed. One handy feature is the inclusion of a separate mounting plate that you can install on any other custom bomb that you design. The rubber nose attachment does not fasten properly and will require some form of adhesive to keep it in place.

the bomb is quite fragile. On the first drop i broke a bit of it and on the second drop i broke more of it.... they need to make the bomb tougher. Release mechanism works very well though

Positive mechanism and a blast. Its a little big for most of the smaller planes, but thats a good safety feature. If you have room to fly a larger model, you probably have the room to drop this baby without any problems. 4* for the weak plastic on the bomb, but i was more interested in the mechanism anyway.

3 thumbs up!
Good: Release reliability, easy of fitting, easy of setup.
Bad: Plastic used on the bomb, they explode even hitting ploughed soil !

See RC groups thread number 14019825.

Would be better just selling the release and spare plate, and save shipping cost.

Gadjet original.
