I have the Mid-Cure 15 Min Epoxy 9. oz $6.95
.
Anyone know what I could use to thin it way down to paint onto fibreglass.  I want to use it on foam (EPS styro foam), so the thinner would need to foam safe like the epoxy.

Something generic would be good as brands are not always available in all countries (Australia).

Appreciate any advice !

Denatured alcohol. Do a test first.  Also it takes a little longer to cure.  If it does not cure or becomes too rubbery you put too much.

Have you tried water based varnish available from all good DIY shops.  It is safer, easier to clean up, paintable, lighter and cheaper?

A certain hobby store in the UK sells bottles of 'epoxy thinner'.

It is labelled as containing methanol and from what I can tell that is all it contains, as used to make glow fuel. Not sure if methanol attacks foam though.

Instructions say to use 1 part 'thinners' to 4 parts epoxy.

Methanol is fine on foam, used to use it on control line combat in the 80s

Water Based polyurethane clear  goes ok on foam. Its like the old timberglo product except its water based. Give it a couple of coats then you can paint it or whatever you like. Bunnings etc stock it

I see someone advised using rubbing alkahol..
.My Granny rubs menthol 80% proof on her hard patches and  on her thighs and  is that the same thing ? anyways after half an hour or so she s up and running round like a teenager mind you I  personally think shes been drinking it...so watch out either when rubbing it or sniffing it , it could cause unusual side affects.. Id only use it with an opened window ...
and come to think of it Id tie myself to the bed post just in case I fell out of said opened window ...just be careful out there .if you need any more useful tips dont hesitate to call meOuch .
