That's great Wolff - I'm glad yours went together so well. Last night I did cut a short notch in the boom and now this engages nicely with the tab inside the tail assembly - perfect! I had to go this route otherwise the tail belt would have required to much force to get it over the front tail drive pulley. |

On genuine Align booms there is a hole at the tail end to locate with the pin inside, so that the tail box cannot rotate, and a slot at the front to allow for adjustment and to stop the boom rotating in the block. A shame the clones dont pay attention to the details, I still have 2 of them but not from HC

Yes, I glad I'm doing the build on this one - it is actually a trainer for my dad and he is a total newbie. At least I built a 450SEV2 last year, so I have some idea of what should go where. BTW a hole in the tail boom (as on the align boom) would not work as the plastic tail box on the HK450V2 has a molded "tab" inside of about 5mm long instead of the pin as on the align component. Other than that the build is progressing well (hoping to do a test hover soon). |

Dude I had this exact problem. Then I realized how to fix: The tail boom has a pin that slots into the boom. I completely loosened the boom block to the point where the tail boom would slide all the way into the chassis. Once I had the belt on, I pulled the boom back out and tightened up. Be sure the hidden pin on the block is sliding into the slot on the boom before you tighten up.

I did do this, but still the belt would not go over the tail drive pulley with the boom pushed all the way forward into the boom block (pin engaging in the slot). It was only when I cut the short slot at the rear of the tail boom to engage with the molded tab inside the tail box - that I could get the belt to go on without force. |
