I wouldn't use Liquid Plastic or Urethane. If you ever have to do any kind of service/ e or maintenance you will live to regrate it! the best material to water proof is a marine wax spray that you can spray and let it set! then do it again and again! and if you ever have to work on your electronics a heat gun or hair dryer will literally clear the wax and you will be ready to go!

Go to your nearest Marine supply! or access it on line and get your self a good of water proofing wax and in that way you will have the best of both worlds!

Try using silastic on either end on heatshrink tube.Because they use an alloy heat sink with brass fittings,I always use a very large syringe full of" salt away" to flush ESC then follow up with a BIG rinse of WD40 followed by a good squirt of compressed air and more WD40.My ESC's are 2years old and used in salt water, but you must do it after every use with out fail!!!!!

Yeh,just remember electolysis is created by the use of alloy and brass in salt water and will dissolve your ESC/motor if you don't do it every use.
DON't leave them over night.Google 'saltaway' ,I found it in a boat shop in Maitland NSW,it dilutes at 500:1 .It is a fantastic product, nutralising salt,a little dear[$30/ liter]but it lasts forever and is cheaper than replacing ESC/motors on a regular basis

I'm playing with EVA encapsulation atm... It's a thin film you buy in rolls up to a meter wide.. I'm using it for encapsulating solar panels behind glass... You just lay it on and hit it with a heat gun and it melts onto the panels and glass giving a water/air tight seal if done properly... I'm sure there will be uses for it in our hobby... Definitely waterproofing electronics and maybe strengthening foam...

There are a few vids on youtube about it...

Lucky me. Saltwater is 300 km away. I'd prefer to ski in it though.

OK. After more research I've discovered that some guys in the US use nothing more than ACF-50. Gooogle it - Military stuff. I found it for $19 for a 12oz aerosol can in Oz from (email) ; dan.masoch@blockchemical.com
plus only $8 delivery.
I might try drenching my ESC in it then doubling up by using trevpez heat shrink tip in the posting on this page. I'll also open my RX case and soak the gubbins in there too.
