Topic: Orange R100 Satellite RX LightPosted: 13/Jul/2012 at 6:23am |

I have an Orange R710 Spektrum Compatible RX and have just received 2 x R100 Satellite RXs from HK, I am using a Spektrum DX6i TX. No matter which Satellite RX I use neither of them illuminate before, during or after binding.
I have checked many posts and some say there is a light on the Satellite RX and others say there isn't - can anyone confirm whether there is a light or not please. Note: if I remove the Satellite RX from the R710 RX it starts to blink so I guess that it has recognised the Satellite RX. Any responses would be appreciated, many thanks, Ray |

I'm assuming here that you're fallowing the correct binding procedure and using the binding plug correctely.
On the receiver (RX) and on the Satellite should be a Red LED ON, flashing during binding solid after. Just make sure the Sat's connector is plug-in correctly to the RX, red lead (pos.+) towards the side of the antenna. Please note that if the RX and Satellite haven't bound-up correctly to the Transmitter (TX), the LEDs will not stay ON. Good luck |

Hi Crandix. Many thanks for your response. In reply:
Yes, I followed the binding procedure as defined in the Spektrum User Guide. The RX has an ORANGE light that flashes before binding and goes solid after binding (no light on Satellite). Plug checked (you can only insert it one way due to its design), colours are Grey, Black and an Orange lead that is nearest the antenna. The Orange RX LED stays on and a range check with reduced TX output power indicates 60 metres (rather than the 30 metres noted in the Spektrum User Guide). Regards, Ray |

Hi Crandix - thank you for the video, I will take the case off the RX and check it out. I am waiting on another Orange RX from HK and should be able to verify whether my current RX has a problem. Once again, thank you for the information, much appreciated, Ray.

Hi Costas,
Just to let you know that I received another OrangeRx R710 Spektrum DSM2 Compatible 7Ch w/Failsafe receiver today from HK and tested the Satellite receivers with it and the light flashed in both cases as required. This indicates that the original Orange RX was faulty and I have raised a Support Request with HK (it will be interesting to hear their response!). Thank you again for the information you provided, much appreciated. Regards, Ray |

Thankyou for letting me know Ray. Probably HK Support will ask
to send it back for a replacement under warranty. Please if intent to do so do no fallow my suggestion to open the receiver's case for inspection as that may void your warranty. Regards, Costas |

Hi,
I just received an orange rx100 satellite receiver, but I cannot bind it with my AR8000. No flashing light during bind. I tested it with an other AR8000 and have the same problem. satellite spectrum and AR8000 are ok, but not with orange satellite. Help me please. |

Hi Plexus - I have 3 Orange satellite RXs and, as can be seen from my previous posts, they all work OK (they don't increase the range, just increase security. My problem was with an Orange RX (which worked OK on its own).
The satellites should definitely illuminate before (rapid flashing) and after binding (solid light). Sorry I can't give you any more info. Ray |
