I just got a 80 Amp ESC YEP. From the beginning I had problems. The motor stops in flight and then again after 1/2 sec. Makes it all the time. In hovering, however there is no problem.
I tried to use another controller and everything works normally, then it is a problem of the regulator.
has anyone had a similar experience?

So at 22A peak ESC should not be overloaded at all.
As there is no issue when hovering I would assume it has something to do with governor mode when ESC is trying to hold rpm during flight.

*) try to play around a little bit with gov settings and check if you have initialized gov store in the right way.

*) try to use act. freew. on/off and check also ESC temp. afterwards

You can also google for YGE setup hints to find more information about that (btw. you will find threads about YGE customers claiming about gov store mode too).

The problem is that this ESC YEP generates lots of interference. So the RX goes to block (FAIL/SAFE).
They talk about it here:

The reason is that they removed the optocoupler!
why create interference!

That's an interesting observation. I have 2 ESCs from first batch (with separate lead for programming) and the PCB looks like as it's shown on your picture from Hi-Model.

Take a look at the manufacturer site, it seems they are changing all ESCs to new design:

Sunrise Updates ICE Series ESC to Better Performance
Sunrise Model keeps improving ESC quality and performance, recently has updated ICE Series ESC to version 2.0 to get better performance.

---The updated ICE ESC has improved the Switching BEC output to more stable and powerful.

---The signal lead has both functions to connect with receiver and programming card for setting parameters. No extra lead needed.

---The ICE programming card has also been improved to version 2.0 and in a new appearance.

After strict and careful testing, new version updated ICE series ESC will launch to the market.

Hope all our customers could continue to support Sunrise Model.

Please try to contact them and report this problem, I'm curious about their response.

I was expecting that they are not really interested in customer experiences but that's good news.
Please keep us informed.
