OK - if you are using the cable with the 3.5 mm jack plugs and the dongle - that works with Phoenix. I've never had any success with the others using it (the setup is completely different)
Phoenix is available as a .torrent file if you look for it and will work with the dongle provided you don't 'upgrade' it |

I don't care what it says on the profile - I'm so NOT GB!

Oldnick did not mean to ignore you,I just have not been on in a wail with time to help.
The PL-2303 is a different UART chip set than the one you have .It was the one that came with my programmer cable cable. PPJOY will have to have a com port to talk to this is set when you load the drive for the UART chip. DRIVER LINK this driver should work with the hardware you have. remove PPjoy befor you load this driver remove the pl-2303 driver run the new driver befor you plug up the cable. after you instale the driver windows sould see it in control panle under hardware & COM/LPT PORTS and have a com port asinged to it.COM xxx this will be the prot for PPjoy IS this the cable you have??SIM CABLE PS I will be at home and around the XP one late today and all day sunday Edited by airwave - 30/Jun/2012 at 11:40pm |

Thanks for the replies.
The cable I have is here http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9043 Hope it works because I just ordered three more after one pin broke as I said. So I should: - remove the PL2303 driver - remove PPJoy - install the driver from the link given, with the cable unplugged - Windows should now see this as a com port - reinstall PPJoy, which should then be able to open that port. I think I have already got that far, although with the wrong driver. By accident (well the cable was fritzed) I installed without the Tx connected and yeah it worked better than with it connected. But what I could not do was use PPjhoy to configure the setup regarding what did what. However I will try the software install and await my new cables. |

I did not get a disc :( Are you saying that the disc contents has to be run before anything else will work?
I never got the bars to move in any of the things that had bars. However as I have a damaged cable that could be the reason. I had two different places where the bars showed. One was PPJoy I think. But that only happened once then when PPJoy found a com port (I have no idea bhowm sorry) it would not let me do a setup. Seriously, much more of this and I will just go and learn by crashing if I have to. The plane is repairable: my stress levels are not, and hey I get to fly. |

Well I have flown RC gliders (2 channel admittedly) and never had a real prang, and what I have is the jet cloud thingy, which I can replace for about $38, even if I really smash it.
I will have one more go, but I have spent maybe two frustrating, useless hours on this. this is important. As I said, do I need that disc to get this up and running? |

Yes, you would have to get it to work or the plane may not even fly.some times the servo will have to be REV and this is the only way.

Hang on. Are we talking about the same thing? I meant the disc (CD?) that you said came with the cable I linked to. I need that to get the plane to fly?
Or is there something else? |
